NCAA Football 11 Patch #3 Details

EA Sports has announced that a third patch for NCAA Football 11 is scheduled to be released on Tuesday September 7th. Along with the patch will be yet another “tuner” update. The most pressing issue with the game since the last patch has been the pump fake exploit and that will be taken care of here. Patch 3

The pump fake exploit was resolved. The entire defense will no longer rush the QB after a pump fake.

Resolved an issue with setting SS/ FS to QB Spy and then blitzing, virtually unblocked.

Increased the Overall rating for incoming freshman. This resulted in one and two star freshman coming in at a higher overall rating.

In Season Progression is back! Players once again have the ability to get a slight boost to their ratings during the season.

There was an issue with Hawaii’s home schedule causing conflicts with particular teams. This has been resolved. In particular, teams in the Pac 10 and the WAC will now have the correct number of conference games.

Resolved an issue with the Rush Defense slider where they were only impacting defensive line special moves. They have been adjusted to also impact win/loss chances for blocking.

Live Tuning Pack 3

Kick Power/Kick Accuracy progression for Kickers and Punters was adjusted to be in line with the new incoming freshmen. Kickers and punters will now progress in line with other players, but will start with a higher average overall due to the improved recruit ratings in the patch.

Increased Awareness progression for all positions.

Increased progression slightly for Elusiveness, Spin Move, and Juke Move for Wide Receivers.

Increased progression of the Tackle rating for Corner Backs to be in line with WR skill ratings (Juke, Spin, and Elusiveness).

Reduced the frequency of defenders successfully jumping the snap. Also adjusted how frequently they would jump early when the offense performed a fake snap.

Tuned Man Coverage so defenders will not jump in front of routes so early. They will still jump the route, but not as early, or frequently, as before.

Adjusted in season progression to be in line with higher rated incoming freshmen.

Tuned Incoming freshman to better match the spread on the default rosters.

Tuned team prestige progression to be in line with the changes to incoming freshmen.

I was hoping to see some tuning with zone coverage. Still not good. Overall, glad to see EA rolling along with the post release support. Hopefully this continues through the next couple of months.

Nice updates here. Do we know if they forgot to include in-season progression or was it intended to not be in the game initially? I hope to see better recruiting results b/c that has been rough initially.

hmmm well hope it kinda takes care of the cpu running back where he runs into the pile of guys when has a clear path to run .i must say this game is pretty fun thyo i cant seem to stop playing it … well until nhl comes out lol

This should be the last patch, but I’d imagine they could continue with the tuning packs.

Dude. Me too. And guess what I did – after a week or so with Madden, I traded it away for two Tomb Raider games, Rainbow Six Vegas and Ghost Recon. I might just have to pony-up for NCAA again.

Great news…now i can resume online head to head play. Clearly this is the best football game out this year and clearing up that pump fake issue was huge. Good job for continuing to try to make this game good through out the year with regularly scheduled updates/patches and tuning. Will Massoli be with Ole Miss as well????

Is the Tuner 3 pack and the Patch 3 all together in the update or are they 2 seperate downloads?

Because I dont have Live, I goto MS XBOX Patch website to download game patches and transfer them over with my Xbox transfer cable. I was wondering if Tuner files are seperate files that need to be downloaded

Patch #2 ruined the game. Made the defense weak like Madden, run game was gone for cpu, and QBs became super accurate. How can anyone look foward to another patch. I have Madden and NCAA and both games just sit there. NCAA was very good until patch #2 destroyed it.

hopefully they can tweak the little things in future “tuner updates.” I really like they way they’ve implemented the server side updates this year that the madden team over-promised and completely under-delivered on last year.

so are there any updates to the rosters? since suspensions and transfers…. also, this is for Madden the drafted players particularly running backs come in very slow… who’s drafting a back with a 79 speed. How does Noel Devine speed drops to 84 don’t understand this at all… and many other players drafted in later rounds.

The producers @ EA don’t know how to balance speed. A fast guy in Madden equals a reak weapon bc of lack of proper pursuit angles and proper tackling so instead they just make lower skilled guys slow regardless of how fast they really are. It’s very confusing why they can’t get the pursuit angles down played Madden 03 the other day & speed didn’t matter if the defender had the angle this Madden team for next gen is downright terrible

Yes the rosters from NCAA to NFL really mess things up…Pryor comes in rated badly, Locker, J.Jones, AJ Green, and many more…I have now put some of the best players in NCAA even better, so maybe it will transfer to Madden, so I can have a realistic draft.

I wonder when they will “patch” , “tune” the way defenders just stand around and wait for blocks to come or watch the running back go right by? or how o linemen run right past safeties instead of blocking em? or……etc!!!!! Still love this game tho its the best they have made but it does has a bunch of lil bugs…they need beta testing especially since they already must be working ncaa12 i mean they only get what a year to respawn?

Do I need to find and download these patches and tuner updates? When I first put the game in and signed in it forced me download but I haven’t gotten any prompts since. And I have still been having problems that previous patches supposedly fixed, such as far away camera during PAT, “play of the game” is always the last play, and no saveable highlights..? Can anyone help. I have the new xbox 360 slim 4GB if that could be an issue? Thanks in advance!

With the new patch, the CPU pass offense is unstoppable. The qb goes 25-27 5 tds, everytime.
