The roster update for Madden NFL 13 as the season heads into Wild Card Weekend has already gone live on the Xbox 360 and PS3. This update incorporates two weeks worth of performances as EA did not provide one – the only week of the regular season they didn’t – over the Christmas holiday break. For the non-playoff teams players that were on the IR have been returned to active status and depth charts adjusted. Additional ratings changes will be made through the playoffs and following the Super Bowl for all teams not just those still in action.

Peyton Manning inches up to within 1 point of recapturing the 99 rating he last had in December 2010 in Madden NFL 11. Dez Bryant goes up 2 to 91, Mike Tolbert gains 2 to 91, Alfred Morris continues to climb as he earns 2 more to 87, Doug Martin gets another point to end at 88, and Zach Brown collects 3 more to rise to 80. Tony Romo drops 2 to 88, Nnamdi Asomugha loses another point to end the season at 87, and David Akers crashes 4 points to 81.

Leading the teams benefiting the most from the update in terms of net players gaining vs losing are the Buccaneers (+8) followed by the Redskins (+5). Those taking the biggest hit are the Eagles (-4) and Cowboys (-3). It was a light week for ratings changes overall. Continue on for all the details and as always leave any thoughts in the comments!

    two weeks for this?

    • yemcy

800+ changes altogether, so Id say thats a pretty good update.
compare to 2k who cant get all the players in the league added or change ratings at all

      • http://www.facebook.com/matt.pacheco.904 Matt Pacheco

Yea but 763 of those changes are just depth chart and IR crap. Seahawks kill the 9ers and beat the Rams at home and 4 players go up by one point, except Sweezy?

        • burgo26

Don’t you complain. The Vikings beat the Texans and the Packers and only our fullback and backup DE get an increase…

  • CJ

What the fuck they update? Jenoris Jenkins didnt get his update, pretty much nobody on the Rams did,and JJenkins the Defensive Rookie of the year

    • http://www.facebook.com/matt.pacheco.904 Matt Pacheco

      Because they lost genius

      • Socal310

Hes talking about from week 16 genius. JJ had a pick6

      • Wematanye

losing has little to do with ratings, there based on a players individual performance

    • rasool

      RIGHT….MORE LIKE BULLSHIT N HE HAD A PIC..SAM THREW FOR 377 YARDS N 2 TDS NO POINTS…DONNY DUDE A JOKE

    • http://twitter.com/shondeveron Hello I’m DEV

ridiculous update…they gave demarcus ware an update he didnt play but 35% of the game and he was abused by skins rushing attack they had 260yrds rushin on em…as a team..they gave dez bryant an increase and he had the worse game of the season deangello hall shut him DOWN the whole game but alfred morris still rated lower than the muscle hampster

  • Hitman

Mike Tolbert a 91 and rated higher than guys like Doug Martin and Alfred Morris is unacceptable. Are you f***ing kidding me? Mike Tolbert is a good goal line back, touchdown vulture, and that’s it.

    • Gakonline

I am a Panthers fan and on Mike Tolbert’s behalf he listed as a Fullback on the roster so yea he deserves a 91 rating. On the other hand besides AP, Doug Martin and Alfred Morris were the better backs in the league this year. Yea, the were Rookies but by season end there Ratings should reflect there play. Donnie has been lazy with his Ratings near the end of the season.

    • $evere

This is what happens when you have one person doing the ratings; there is no accountability for his actions. Moore doesn’t have to answer to anyone.

  • NYViking

Ponder didn’t get even 1 point increase? for 3 TDs and no INTs against Packers?

  • http://www.facebook.com/matt.pacheco.904 Matt Pacheco

This is not two weeks worth. If so then the Seahawks got royally screwed.

  • CJ

Worst Madden UPDATE EVER,I HONESTLY CANT WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE MAKES A NEW FOOTBALL GAME BECAUSE IM TIRED OF PUTTING UP WITH THE SAME BULLSHIT EVERY YEAR FROM EA. YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE TO ONLY HAVE 1 CHOICE OF A FOOTBALL GAME EVERY YEAR PERIOD

    • rasool

      i agree bring back NFL2K N GAMEDAY

    • Yup

      You’re still gonna buy it.

  • http://twitter.com/shondeveron Hello I’m DEV

how does the muscle hamster still rank higher than alfred morris whom is 3rd in the NFL in rushing..how did dez bryant actually MOVE UP in ranking when deangelo hall shut him down last week..crazy….

    • Bucyocouch

Because Martin also catches out of the backfield. He has more total yards and less fumbles than Morris. Morris has way more carries than martin, but only 150 more rushing yards. That’s why he’s higher. More of a complete back. He also has more 20, 40, and over runs as well.

  • http://twitter.com/shondeveron Hello I’m DEV

doug free allowed 3 sacks moved up..lol crazyness going on

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1441642492 JoeCB91

Not even a decrease for buttfumble?

  • kylexitron

ah incrase for RG3 for two mediocre games and no increase for Russell Wilson after laying 4 TD’s on the 49ers and beating the rams? I see how it is.

    • Venom4ya908@yahoo.com

No love for the NFC West

Rams slow the Seahawks down and lead the NFL in sacks as a team…no love for the rams Dline

    • BLUe

yea whooping ass for the last two weeks whole Seahawks team should have increased we so deep shitz real

  • hrss

Ha so RGIII passes for 100 yards and goes UP TO 90. lol

    • blue

I know i dont see them giving him an ankle brace or low injury rating SEAHAWKS WILL MURDER HIM

  • FrstRdDrftPk

I counted on Donney taking the extra week to really get some of the over looked players their due reapect. WOW was i naive. The Denver Bronco’s Defense as reflected by ratings and updates is a JOKE. How does a team who has the #3 defense in the NFL have SO MANY DEFICIENCIES in the game? They have the #2 run D in the NFL, yet there is only one player on their D line rated above 79. Their best overall Defender this year might be WesleyWoodyard- who became the 11th player in NFL history to have 115 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 3 INT’s… And hes Rated 80 OVR. How does this team never get any updates on Defense week in and week out???? Roster updates have become a joke b/c they’re not even close to being accurate.

  • Gakonline

Ok, I am a Panthers Fan and even though this is not a Big Market team he should not be ignoring some of the individual efforts of the players. He continues to lowers Thomas Davis’ rating after he was the second leading tackler on the Team. He was a beast behind Kuechly. And regards to Kuechly. He was probably tops at MLB this season among everyone including Patrick Willis. He does not not need to a 95 but he should at least be a 90 rating. He has not gain a single rating increase the last half of the season. I also noticed after some games Donnie decreased players ratings after they had excellent games in which their rating should have increased.

  • Maddenfansincethe90s

Michael Johnson has 11.5 sacks he had a 2 sack game against Baltimore and gets no boost Dunlap got sack and pick 6 no boost Clements is still safety Jones is the nickel back Marvin Jones had multiple catches a touchdown and been playing very very well you have Burfict rated slower than d-linemen this update doesn’t consist of 2 weeks of play these updates are getting worse by the week

    • NFL Network

And to add to how bad these updates are Johnson started to season overall 77 11.5 sacks later he’s a 80 earlier this season Robert Geathers had a 2 sack game and got decreased

    • JJ

      Bengals suck. One and DONE.

  • jarg8

Considering Matt Ryan went down a point I guess they just ignored week 16.

  • Maddenfansincethe90s

Robert Geathers had a 2 sack game and Donnie decreased him how does that make since

  • Socal310

    Worst update ever.

  • http://www.facebook.com/SpudimusPrime89 Andrew Falkenhan

Way to completely ignore what happened the previous week, EA. Not all the stats are lopsided.

  • AmazinsCowboys

so Romo just gets bumped down 2 points for not playing well against washington and his amazing game against the saints two weeks before goes unrewarded because ea took the christmas week off? makes sense. and eli manning is a 95?? and you guys claim moore has a hard-on for the cowboys.

    • Rix

The Saints had the worst defense in the history of the NFL. No one should go up cause they played well against that defense.

      • Mason Drews

4 td’s and 400 hards is more than playing “well” -_-

  • http://www.facebook.com/ben.nadal.1 Ben’jamin Mykael Nadal

still funny how the ravens are still missing 2 players on there team

  • http://www.facebook.com/gabe.rox.9 Gabe Rox

Wow Hawks and Broncos royally screwed in a bad way. 2 great wins for both teams and very small upgrades. Why is Dez 2 pts higher than DT when they have almost exactly the same stats? Bryant has 3 more tds. Is that worth 2 pts more ovr? If so Decker should get 2 more pts since he also has 13 tds.

  • rasool

ok two weeks my ass!! janoris jenkins had good game week 16 n a pic week 17 n not even listed fuck these updates

  • raider nation 89

No point gettin mad over this shit its been like for years donny is a cowboy fan and he creates the updates using his bullshit biased head, the kids an idiot n shud b replaced bysomeone who knows whats goin on

  • this is enough

this is embarassing.. i guess ea gave up on “connected career online.” STILL have to use week 4 rosters to start a “career” online with friends, or to start a fantasy draft..
    91 ovr P Manning. 83OVR RGIII….
they had 3 updates right after launch, then nothing for 3 months.
this story should mention that these “updates” apply to only a few modes in the game.
has EA commented on this at all?

  • boo this game

i just hope they update the online rosters by the end of the year. il be royally pissed if im playing with september’s rosters in july. considering i could buy last years game for 5$, and the rosters would be very similar. No rookies? who cares. I would’ve gladly saved the 55$

    • http://twitter.com/brianbradshaw88 imjustaboi

Go to twitter @joshlooman —- just said he will only update development traits. Fuck madden. Im done. Everyone else should be too. Theyre lazy asses are really abusing their power

  • God

Why have we not gotten an online connected careers update since week 4? What a dam waist of life these corporate losers at EA are. I honestly think the programmers are working their ass off.

  • Mike Jones

This Fucker Donny just shitted on the Falcons after we shut out the Giants and they want to treat the Bucs like they’re world beaters after we didn’t even try the fuckin game and was STILL within a touchdown of winning!!! Fuck Moore man WOW we didn’t get not one update for that beatdown we put on the Giants which was arguable our best dhowing of the year,,,

  • chan

No CC offline rosters? For next years Madden go back to the franchise mode, thats when we got updated offline rosters every week.

I ask all you ratings buffs this…

What exactly does 82 man coverage look like in game?

What does 99 man coverage look like?

    87?

See there’s NO specific animations tied to these ratings you all whine and cry about, making all of your bickering 110% pointless. Instead I advise you all to complain about something worthwhile (like making all ratings ACTUALLY matter)…

oh and don’t give me the “Well what about QB accuracy etc.” sure some matter, but just because a player has the same deep accuracy/throw power doesn’t mean they should throw the deep ball exactly the same way in game? Where are the player specific tendencies that make Eli feel different from Brady?

What a shame that player traits were RARELY touched throughout the course of the season.

  • MVJMVP

Vontaze Burfict had 127 tackles this year, why is he rated so low? Michael Johnson had 11.5 sacks this year. what’s up?

  • WIldfirexxi

There’s no way this includes week 16 if Flacco, Torrey, Rice, etc don’t have increases and Corey Webster doesn’t have a decrease

  • Kr88

Why are there always comments about Donny being a Cowboys fan? Hes a Bucs fan. Which I guess explains why they moved up the most for no reason lol.

  • I_speak_real

Y did Darren McFadden go down..he had a solid game

  • http://www.facebook.com/danny.battle2 Danny Battle

Dang…..Wilson nothing, Kam Chancellor nothing. You still got Jeremy Lane #37 his #20 now.Earl Thomas nothing…..come on dude….you had whole week off do your job Madden Cesar…..lol

  • http://www.facebook.com/danny.battle2 Danny Battle

Donnie must be a idiot……he can’t be watching football doing a crappy job like that….hire somebody else…he don’t know what he is doing.

  • Kurt

The vikings beat GB & Houstan and this all they get? Give me a break!

  • chambro5988

Pasta I am getting frustrated, do you know if there will be another added roster for online connected careers? Any information would be great!

    • http://pastapadre.com/ pastapadre

Yes. Have been told there will be another one after the Super Bowl.

      • this is enough

what jerks. 4 months with outdated rosters.. for a game with a 12 months lifespan.

thanks for the info tho pasta.

iv been booting the game up once a week (since the start of october) to see if they updated it.

now i don’t have to waste my time over the next few weeks.

  • Falcon Fan

This is bull shyt!!.. How does Matt Ryan get a decrease??.. Hasn’t thrown any picks throughout the last two games and didn’t get a bump last week for smashing the Lions, because you were tired to update the roster last week!. I don’t know how you make your update statistics but it is all bull shyt!!..

  • grizz

Donnie must be on drugs janoris Jenkins Steven Jackson Sam Bradford Chris long mikel mike brockers tru Johnson who had some outstandi g plays the last ttwo weeks and man can he cover deep and leap over receivers then Dunbar James laurinitis play great games then they need to give respect to lance kendricks as a complete tight end cause he shown how good he can be the last two games and givens and gibby are the rams leading receivers let the ratings show that shit man damn oh and if Jenkins isnt rated better then mo didn’t do shit Claiborne ill be mad as shit

  • winnerdownthere

when is this gong to be available

  • cpf

I have been saying Donnie Moore needs to be fired or relieved from duty of doing the ratings. This guy is a POS.

  • Steelers nation

How come pouncey of the Steelers isn’t the highest rated center I mean who’s better and how come Cortez Allen and Keenan Lewis aren’t faster and Ryan clark back to back pro bowls?????? Pouncey has made 3 straight pro bowls and you got no names rated better cmon man!!!

    • Riley

Maurkice Pouncey is overrated because he plays for the Steelers. He isn’t even the best Pouncey in the league.

  • West coast

Nnamndi is a below average corner, Madden has to learn to let aging stars age.
His number belongs in the 70’s, there r reasons the raiders sucked.

  • rarrdinosarr

49ers Released Brandon Jacobs and Signed Billy Cundiff…. Can we see this in the next update please? And LaMichael James helmet hasnt been updated still…he’s using the same helmet/face mask combo as Matt Schaub uses.
