NCAA Football 08 patch for 360 is out

The patch for the 360 version of the NCAA Football 08 has been released by Microsoft. This is the same patch that came out for the PS3 back at the end of October. EA was able to work around technical conflicts that seemed as though they were going to prevent the patch from coming to the 360.
The patch addresses such issues as toning down the fumbles, more realistic defensive AI, and the ability to better lob passes. It also includes clock extensions allowing more time to choose a play on defense and more time during each pause online.

Do you have any idea what the update that I downloaded today was (12/12)? I was asked to when turning the game on at aroun 7 pm? Could it have been the update a bit early?

They seem to think it’s the new patch over at OS. It’s a slight, but welcome, upgrade.

Anyone else really not care about this patch at this point? College Football season is basically over, College hoops season is upon us, and the NHL and NBA are just heating up. I would have loved this patch back in October when I was actually still playing this game on a regular basis.

How about a patch for the employees at Tiburon who have stripped all the presentation/on-field out of the next gen version. Oh well at least I can recreate the BIG 12 Championship in the brand new *Outdoor Alamodome, on a field with no refs, chain gangs, painted end zones and such.
* They forgot to stick the Alamodome in the game.

I can play NCAA Football until next year’s release. Minus all of the extras awarded to all gamers in last-gen versions, NCAA is still a great football game.

How come I bought College Hoops 2k8 and it has 300+ colleges with all their alternate jerseys, all stadiums, a freakings weekly wrap up with highlights of other games, tons of great college atmosphere, classic teams, and more?
I guess I’d be ok with EA stripping their title’s if no other company could figure out ho wto develop those issues on the 360, but when I see a game like CH2K8, all it does is make me mad…becaus that is how NCAA SHOULD BE!!!
Thanks for the patch though- 6 months after the game was released..and only 6 months to go until the new game comes out…
Okay now for a little pat on the back, although my hand has been waiting to do this for a few months.
Some time in practice mode after the patch.
You can definitely see a difference. While the DB AI is not completely fixed, most of the time they turn, at the same time or just after the WR does on a man to man. There is still a premium of timing on the comeback routes and leading or throwing behind, etc.. the receiver with the direction of the pass.
Also the touch pass is finally back. A quick tap while pressing up will give you a very nice lob pass. It also feels like the menus are a bit smoother, but that could be me spending more time in the online mode lately.
