NFL Tour questions and requests

For those of you curious about anything related to NFL Tour feel free to leave your questions in the comments. Also when it comes to videos if there are certain teams, match-ups, or individual players you’d like to see featured feel free to mention that as well.

In response to the demo that is out for the PS3 I wanted to make comment on two factors that should be considered. The first thing is that the game is much more enjoyable head-to-head than it will be playing against the CPU. Hopefully the online play has good performance and it’ll benefit from the games being only 10-15 minutes to play. The second thing is that it plays a more balanced game with the difficulty level bumped up one. On default the game is very easy for the offense. It is still going to be slanted towards the offense at higher levels but you’ll see less broken tackles and the defensive line getting pressure quicker which forces the issue and increases the pace and decision making as just a couple examples. I just wanted to throw those things out to consider when you play the demo.

I wouldn’t expect the 360 demo to be out until mid-week. It will likely come at the standard time that Microsoft releases demos, which is 2am PT/5am ET on Wednesday morning.

My copy of NFL Tour is set to arrive on Monday. 360 permitting (recent RROD problem) I’ll be spending time posting up full game videos, individual player highlight videos, and trying to answer a few questions that haven’t already been taken care of through the impressions I posted up from mid-December.

i played the demo on my PS3 and i thought it was a really fun game…offense is very easy for me and i score pretty much every time i run the ball (on all difficulty levels) but im sure it will be different head to head since computer always sucks. The only things that I dont like is playing defense against a pass and catching the ball on both offense and defense, it just seems impossible and is kinda a big problem…anyway, i’d like to see a video of how picking players on your team work and then adjusting the positions in your lineup, because I like to play with a RB or WR as my QB, and in the demo the players are pre-picked and you cant adjust the lineups…hopefully you get it tomorrow, thanks…

Just curious as to why you would play with a RB or WR at QB? Not bashing, just curious.

I starting doing it in NFL Street 2 bc everyone did it online and thats how I play now, also its more fun and it makes the game more interesting…pasta, i was also wondering if you can call audibles like you can in street, bc in the demo you cant.

  7. pastapadre on January 6th, 2008 6:06 pm Quote

No there are no audibles in the game.

I’ll cover online stuff once I can get on with it, but I’m pretty sure there is no online co-op. They had originally said their focus was on getting the game to perform well online. So I only expect the basic modes and one user vs one user, though I think all the options that are available should be there for online too.

for all the street series, on your online game profile you can get different team logos and icons by winning a certain amount of games with a team…i think it was 20 for the XXL Property Of icon, 150 for the next icon, and 250 for the VIP icon…do they have these for Tour online? bc they were very popular in street 2 and 3 online

i played the demo for ps3, and 1 thing I definatly dont like is that running is so easy on any difficulty level and takes no skill at all, like street does…in street you have to know what you’re doing when you run the ball, but in tour you just have to push X or A when it pops up on the screen…whats the deal with that

Hey pasta, do teams have their real jerseys in the game. Maybe as an unlockable. Those generic team jerseys are horrid.

Yeah there are a couple of different options on what to wear, one of which is the team’s jerseys. The others are Tour Jerseys, Tour T-shirts, and Performance Gear.

Just press x I think before you select your team if you have the demo, if not yes they are there.

Pasta can you post a video of chargers vs colts?

If possible, I would like to see a comparison between the elite RBs (Peterson/Tomlinson) and some of the other running backs (James/Dunn). I’m just curious to see how much of an impact better RBs can make.
    Thanks

Alright just got it. Hope the 360 lasts long enough to get some good stuff in. I’ll work to get some vids up within the next two hours.

yo pasta.. can you post the vikings rosters…See if they made them different then in the gametap article.. thanks

  24. pastapadre on January 7th, 2008 6:57 pm Quote

first video coming up will be Bears vs Vikings. Should be up before 7pm pacific.

on the topic of rosters I have found no way to change or even view them. Now I remember back when playing it in December the rosters came up once by accident. We were never able to figure out why or how though, and I see no way to do it, and the instruction book doesnt mention it. I’ll keep searching but im stumped at the moment
