A new feature in the official NBA Live forum has 360/PS3 Live Producer Brian Ullrich fielding questions from the community and answering a handful each week. While there isn’t likely to be huge announcements made through this it appears that small bits of info on Live 09 will be discussed throughout.

Today the first responses were posted and deal with such topics as unlocking player editing, the big shorts in 08, and the future of Go-To Moves. Click here to read the full posting.

NBA Live needs so much work…. the only thing good about it is the graphics… The animations are terrible! Player movement, ball physics, net physics, not even close to what they should be! If they buy out 2K, I hope to see 2K gameplay with live graphics…..

Personally I’d put rebounding at the top of the list.

The people asking those questions on the Live forum are way too nice… I think they love their game too much (for some reason) I’m surprised I haven’t seen the question; “Is this game gonna be any good, or is this game gonna suck?” To me, the Live series and March Madness series are unplayable and not realistic at all……

What happened to EA? I used to love Bull vs. Blazers and Live 95….. maybe it was just because I was a kid…..

Well i think one of my questions would be straight forward.

Which are you going to focus on more, hype and advertising or building a game that is actually authentic and plays as it should?

Frankly I’ve grown tired of the hype machine and this years 2k8 actually gave me a lot more respect for what those guys accomplished. 2k8 is a quality title with a great deal of replay value and they didn’t have to cram the game down our throats to convince us it was good. EA could learn a lesson here.

I agree with Padre, the rebounding or lack there of and just down right stupid AI is why mine only got played a handful of time.

I’ve always been more of an EA Sports fan than a 2K Sports one mainly because of production values. Being a designer, for me the overall look of the entire product says a lot. But there’s no doubt that 2K Sports has made superior games over the years. But the decline in quality of the EA games has been so monumental the last few years that I’m considering skiping the next season for the first time since games like Madden and NBA Live were created. I hope EA doesn’t shut down the 2K Sports division if they go on to buy Take Two.
ps.: NOW I FINALLY KNOW WHY WE CAN’T EDIT PLAYER ACESSORIES IN LIVE 08. THERE’S A REASON AT LEAST.

Three of my questions were picked!

The questions were so basic such as why would they take the real players move out of the game

    Pasta,

First of all, I think this could be a good thing and I stress the word could! But, why did it take so long? After years of taking the Bill Belicheck approach of not answering any questions relating to issues with their product, why the sudden change? Some of thoses questions are so simple that they could have answered 3 months ago. Specifically questions 2 & 3 relating to the shorts and the locking of accessories. The answer they gave is perfectly acceptible to 99% of the population. Why not be out in front on something like that?

With all of this take 2 buyout business Nba Live needs to get good because there won’t be any alternative.

Can’t edit accessories?!?! On the Wii version you could not edit anything player related or created any players. You could sign free agents and make trades, but that was pretty much it.

No Player Lock, No Dynasty, no created players.

Well to be honest i love basketball games and 2k8 really got it for me with there movement on the court if live 09 could get them super crossovers that 2k7 had and the realistic nba movement then live would be complete because it all ready have the graphics.
