MLB 08: The Show roster update 5/12

This week’s (5/12) roster update for MLB 08: The Show is now available and includes 79 player movements. The highlights of the update are below. For those without online access for their PS3 you can download the file from here.
RP Jack Taschner moved from Giants Starting to Giants Relief.
SP Barry Zito moved from Giants Relief to Giants Starting.
LF Bronson Sardinha moved from Mariners Minors to Indians Minors.
SP Wilfredo Ledezma moved from Padres Relief to Padres Starting.
RP Justin Germano moved from Padres Starting to Padres Relief.
RP Shawn Estes moved from No Team to Padres Relief.
SS Jimmy Rollins moved from Phillies Minors to Phillies Position.
pasta, i have not downloaded any up-dates in a long time, when i go to up-date this one will it up-date all the old one’s and even the one with the patches on it.
Patches prompt you to download them when you start the game if there are any you don’t have. They don’t tie into roster updates in any way.
For the roster update just head into the SportsConnect section to grab the latest.
question does anyone know if they put john gall#7(of)marcos carvajial(p)and chris seddon(p) in game all apart of isotopes(were in game before disappeared)all still play on *florida marlins*(all have more then one mlb game exp.)
Any word if Sony will have add-ons for The Show, such as more classic uniforms, teams, stadiums and players???

why isnt max scherzer on the game?????
i was wondering the same thing, i have ps2 and downloaded last weeks update and Nick Adenhart was in the Angels rotation even though he debuted after Max Scherzer. That is very odd, he is the last of the new debuts I am waiting on until later this summer when Clayton Kershaw or David Price makes their move up

He is not part of the players union yet. Exactly like Kevin Millar and Barry Bonds were. Same with John Bowker of the Giants. As soon as they are in players union they will be added to the game.

I apologize if this has been asked before. Are the ps2 rosters updated around the same time as ps3?

how can i get this dowload on my ps3?????? i dont have internet but i do have a thumb drive can i use that??? please hit me back thancx much people

Download it and save it. Then unzip it. After unzipped create a folder on your thumbdrive title “PS3″ and inside that folder create one more folder titled “SAVEDATA” (remember all caps and no spaces or it will not work)
Then take the unzipped roster file and put it in the SAVEDATA folder.
Insert into PS3, and locate your thumbdrive, and then copy.
Good to go . . . .
Roater updates weekly = SO Boring!! Sony needs to focus on patching the game and next years version instead of wasting it on stupid rosters. specially since you can’t even freaking use them in your franchise.
I personally enjoy the weekly rosters. It’s imposible for me to make movements myself, so it’s nice that I can just connect and download updates. I’m visually impaired so navigating menus and rosters is not going to happen. Plus, it’s nice for players like Fukadome who weren’t in the game when it was released.
Did the new roster updates move Frank Thomas to the Oakland A’s because he was released by Toronto? I didn’t see it anywhere. If he wasn’t its kind of pointless to get the updates if they are not even correct!
is there even roster updates for today? i haven’t seen them
You can use the updated rosters in Franchise mode, you just have to restart the season and upload the new rosters and possibly SIM up to the actual date
Adam, I know you caN USE THEM for yer franchise, but only if you start with them which to me is stupid cus i want to add them even after I’ve started. otherwise i think sony needs to work on a patch and after that then next year version. just wasting time with roster updates.
