A few updates for today

June 5, 2008 by pastapadre

So things have died down a bit since coming out of the community event. I was worn down by the work and travel time and haven’t felt well since last Thursday, not to mention other draining activities I’m in the midst of. So I wanted to keep everyone updated with the latest. I’ve also added a poll below about the NBA Finals which begin tonight.

  • Did you know Pastapadre has a forum? Believe it or not it is true. The link “Forum” in the header will take you there! Or you can click here if you are really lazy. The forum will be re-skinned to match the coming…
  • Pastapadre will be launching a site redesign sometime in the near future.
  • The poll posted yesterday shows that Madden has shifted in front for the most anticipated upcoming football game, overtaking NCAA from the previous month. 62% have chosen Madden, 31% NCAA, and 7% Head Coach.
  • The NBA Live 09 community event has moved from June 13th to the 26th. Expect the first news on Live 09 to come prior to the 17th however.
  • Check back later today for news and analysis on the NBA 2K9 cover athlete announcement.

Lakers will, I say that only because of the struggles for the Celtics to win on the road.

lol @ the forum thing and that’s crazy how much Madden leaped NCAA…but it is well deserved. Oh I almost forgot…go Ray Allen!

Boston in 6. KG, Pierce, and Ray are hungry!
The only way I see L.A. winning is if Phil outcoaches Doc like no one has ever before.

    Pasta,

do you think any information or screens will be released from the 2k9 team today/tonight to go along with the cover athlete revealing?

I doubt it but you never know. Recently they revealed for NHL 2K9 but didn’t even put out the cover art let alone screenshots. They’re more likely to save those things and spread them out over the summer.

By June 10th at the latest. Monday the 9th might be the first info out, but a lot of sites that attended a media event were being held by the 10th as an embargo date.

    Pasta,

On a side note.. did you see that it seems that EA has already sent their NCAA 09 Demo to Microsoft and Sony to be looked over, finalized and put out?

Adam Thompson who’s been doing awesome at answering as much as he can (and/or is allowed to) over at the OS boards confirmed this today.

Pasta, do you know how long (on average) it takes for Microsoft or Sony to release the demo from the time they receive it? I was thinking it would probably be out somewhere between June 16th-20th but if it came out even earlier i’d be totally stoked.

    Nba 09 Wishlist:
    1.Make the rebounding system better.
    2.Make the defenses better.
    3. Make people dive for loose balls/go for them(especially ones out of bounds).

If they do those 3 things I think the game will turn out great.

I would also like to see a leaderboard for teamplay.

    Lakers in 6.

That would be sick if I won that contest

Through that commercial you could see a graphical upgrade in 2k9 but I hope they get rid of all those lead passes and add better shot blocking animations

  21. pat on June 5th, 2008 6:02 pm Quote

kg’s a good choice im really happy they chose him

  22. smokez4Dayz on June 5th, 2008 6:10 pm Quote

That KG player model was top notch, if thats in game graphics…wow! He deserved the spot. So did King James, King James seems like an EA guy. Probably costs a bundle.

2-3 weeks is usually average for getting a demo through after it is submitted. But it is also possible that they have a date set in mind, such as a week before release, where they’d want to get it cleared but then hold off on putting out until then.
