Facebreaker in action

June 9, 2008 by pastapadre

Facebreaker has seemingly gone from an intriguing concept to uncertainty as of late. The interest in an arcade style boxing game is out there, but the character profile videos have been somewhat offputting. In this video Peter Moore goes up against Geoff Keighley as themselves, in the process displaying the first realtime gameplay footage.

From this video I definitely feel more encouraged about the game in general. The photo face feature is going to be especially fun to use along with the ability to download created fighters that have been made by other people. This video seems to demonstrate how that will enhance the enjoyment of the game compared to just using the characters that have been supplied.

Continue on to watch the video.

the other videos have been really bad but this made it look like it could be fun head to head and with created boxers

its a little too over the top for my personal tastes…i dont like the players being juggled mid-air as they are fighting…ready to rumble was fun…but this just isn’t looking so for me…the characters are unappealing..and there has to be a point where playing as yourself becomes stale as well…

Not interested in this particular game -

I will say that the Face Inclusion feature should be a standard - especially as EA is really pushing all these “Superstar” modes in all their sports titles. Seems like a natural.

The functionality in Tiger was awesome, and used the feature in Rainbow 6 too

Wow i might actually get this game if it has a price drop because 59 dollars seems way too much.

On the Eve of a competitor’s release of traditional boxing, you show this from EA? Gimmie a break. where’s the PrizeFighter review or update? Why do you constantly preview this weak title? Can We Say Payola? Nobody’s buying that, just no one. LMAO. Seriously. No one is gonna buy that game.

I dont think this game will have too much lasting appeal. The face inclusion might not last for so long. When you have elements of too much over the top (backflips, kicking, and hovering in the air) type of moves for a supposed boxing game, I think they shold have just made called it a fighter instead. The gameplay looks kinda goofy, an unappealing.
