Pastapadre Online Dynasty Update Weeks 3-6

August 6, 2008 by pastapadre

The Pastapadre Online Dynasty has now advanced through week six, thankfully without experiencing any more major catastrophes. Arizona State was able to pull off a nail-biter of an upset over top ranked Georgia, but Clemson remains the highest ranking team at #4. In the first head-to-head game of the year it was Illinois coming out on top over Penn State to take control of the Big 10. The upcoming game for Illinois against still undefeated Indiana looms large for that conference.

As teams have continued to show dominance over the CPU the upcoming patch that will fix sliders will likely lead to adjustments next season. But for the rest of this year we’ll be rolling on as is. Continue to view the latest standings, Heisman Watch, recruiting update, and the big games ahead for the next three weeks.

Standings
#4 Clemson (6-0)
#6 Arizona State (5-0)
#8 Illinois (5-0)
#16 Penn State (5-1)
#21 USF (6-0)
#23 Oklahoma State (6-0)
#24 UCLA (5-0)
Rutgers (5-0)
Notre Dame (5-0)
Indiana (5-0)
Iowa State (3-2)
TCU (3-3)

I’ll try to gather some highlights in the near future. Been busy with some other projects, and preparing for Madden to arrive tomorrow.

AA, I don’t really enjoy heisman, it becomes more frustrating than fun. I’d rather take AA and make slider adjustments. This may turn out to be an easy year in our dynasty, but with a couple head to head games and only one national champ I’m okay with that.

I know this game has gotten a bad rap from constant glitch complainers, but there mere fact you can do this dynasty with real people online is AWESOME.

Pasta- how many seasons are you going to keep this going for? With Madden coming out will it die out?

Several…it would defeat the purpose of recruiting if we ended it before then. The nice thing is with mostly CPU activities it doesn’t stall. Over the course of a few days the guys can get their games and recruiting in whenever they have time. If this was a traditional league I’d expect it to struggle, but I feel confident that this has staying power.

Very cool. Well if you ever start another one up, or someone drops out, I’d love to join in.

I’m down to play how many ever seasons the rest of the owners can handle. It will really get interesting in the coming season with people getting the guys they want in their systems. I look forward to it!

I am in an online dynasty and we have reached a snag. at the end of the seaon it seems we can not do do the off season stuff unless we are all online at the same time and the commish has to advance to each step. this is a pain since the commish and his roommate use the same machine.

wondering if anyone else is going or has gone through this

    Pasta,

in your league do you find it hard for guys to stay up 2 snuff. Meaning that do guys do thier recruiting and play games on time? Also does your league have just a specific conference or do you mix and match? If its a multi-conference league i would love to join in as UNLV (crazy huh). I like the recruiting aspect of the whole thing. If you get the recruiting down, you can actually (within a few seasons of course) become better than the upper crust teams. Like you said, i think that the multi seasons over the net and recruiting make the game way better than madden.

    Antoine,

I am in a league also that has that same problem. Its an MWC league that is run by TheAvanteGuard. He is a really good commish. But at the end of the season, we had people quit and not stay up to par on the recruiting aspect of the whole game. It becomes less fun when this happens. The commish just sims through thier recruiting after about 2-3 days.
