Another MLB 12: The Show Patch Arrives – Addresses Problems from Previous Updates and Prepares for Mode Addition
Consumers have encountered a number of troubles produced by patches for MLB 12: The Show - the most major of which have been Franchise and Road to the Show freezes and broken cross platform play - and an update that has been made available today for the PS3 version is intended to address some of those. While it won't get back all the time that has been lost and frustration generated in the process it will hopefully help to stabilize the experience for the rest of the year as this seems like...
Latest Patch for MLB 12: The Show Causing Even More Issues
The post-release support for MLB 12: The Show has become a comedy of errors as now another has arrived creating additional problems. An earlier patch caused freezes for some ongoing Franchise and Road to the Show careers and broke the much ballyhooed cross-platform play between the PS3 and Vita. The latest patch that was pushed live over the weekend is causing trouble once again with seasons and careers in progress. (more...)...
MLB 2K12 vs MLB 12: The Show Player Face Comparisons – New Addition Results
In the first run through of player face comparisons between MLB 2K12 and MLB 12: The Show it was the latter that dominated winning 21 out of the 27 pairings. Once roster updates introduced new players though it was time to check in on them given the process of creating players and adding them after release is handled much differently than those meticulously built for the original shipped product.
Needless to say both titles delivered very questionable representations. Though no one would ...
MLB 12: The Show Cross Platform Play Feature Remains Broken Following Patch
It has now been a week since MLB 12: The Show released a patch which included a fix to scheduling in Franchise and Road to the Show - but unfortunately at the same time created freezes in many ongoing seasons and careers forcing those affected to start them over from scratch. The patch was not rolled back and no mention of an additional fix has been made though SCEA is reportedly investigating the freeze issues.
What may have been even worse though is the 'Cross Platform Play' feature th...
MLB 2K12 vs MLB 12: The Show Player Face Comparisons – New Additions
MLB 12: The Show dominated MLB 2K12 in the player face comparison 21-6 last month. Now both titles have released roster updates and introduced new players which is a whole different animal. The three most prominent names are Yu Darvish and Yoenis Cespedes - who made their major league debuts - and a returning Jamie Moyer.
Which game created the better Darvish, Cespedes, and Moyer? For those who don't feel either game can claim that distinction there is an option in the polls with that in ...
MLB 12: The Show Patch Causing Freezes and Save Compatibility Issues
When the patch for MLB 12: The Show released last week it was noted that there were many reports coming in of pre-existing Franchises and Road to the Show careers being unable to advance due to freezes. More about the issue is known now along with another major feature - cross platform saves between the PS3 and Vita - being affected by the problem. (more...)...
Latest MLB 12: The Show Roster Update Introduces New Players
It was somewhat of a surprise when last week's roster update for MLB 12: The Show arrived and didn't deliver any new players. Yoenis Cespedes in particular had broken onto the scene in plenty of time to be included in that update. Instead he and others arrive in the one that was pushed live earlier today. As the two most notable names Cespedes and Yu Darvish enter with 'A' potential and fairly high overall ratings. (more...)...
Patch Details for MLB 12: The Show
It took longer than previous years to get the first patch for MLB 12: The Show but as of this morning it has arrived! The patch includes a fix to start times for games in Franchise mode (unlike MLB 09 a restart of Franchise/Road to the Show will not be required) the success of outfielders being able to throw out runners at first base on base hits will be greatly reduced, and teams will now wear their correct alternate jerseys on appropriate days.
It's most notable that the new structure f...
Online Home Run Derby in MLB 12: The Show Still Missing in Action
One mystery surrounding MLB 12: The Show has been it's Online Home Run Derby mode which even now in mid-April remains absent from the game. Granted it was not highly promoted, and actually I could only find one reference to it from the company and a flash of it in a trailer, but it's still a feature that some anticipated taking advantage of that has not been delivered.
Based on some comments out of SCEA in response to consumer inquries the mode was left inactive at launch to protect again...
MLB 12: The Show Finally Discounted
With the rate at which recent releases have seen their prices drop - some within a matter of days after hitting stores - MLB 12: The Show has bucked the trend by staying put at its $60 price until today. Amazon is now selling the PS3 version of the game for $50 while the Vita is still at its original $40. Also it's worth noting that the deal where buying one gets a discount of $20 on the other remains only in effect until tomorrow April 10th.
While sales for The Show have apparently falle...
