SCEA has announced that a second patch for MLB 10: The Show will be released tomorrow. It includes fixes intended to address some of the issues pointed out by the community including ones experienced in franchise mode and intentional walks causing freezes online. While we won't know if this patch was quickly created in response to some of the backlash that came after stating work wouldn't start on it until the end of the month, all that matters is that it is being delivered in a timely fash...

It is always worthwhile to compare different elements of competing games and the visuals are initially the easiest to do so. I went ahead and grabbed screenshots of 20 popular MLB players in order to judge how well their faces were rendered in MLB 10: The Show and MLB 2K10. The screenshots were captured using the same method so as to eliminate any difference in quality produced by the screenshot features of the particular games. Continue on to check out 10 of the players up against each oth...

The MLB: The Show franchise has produced what has been widely regarded to be some of the best sports titles over the past few years but one major deficiency has held the series back. The online play options and performance has always been terrible, or at the very least disappointing, especially compared to how other games have advanced in the area. After spending some time online with MLB 10: The Show and reading a large number of accounts from others it can be determined that overall the perf...
  • Long Wait Ahead For MLB 10: The Show Patch

With the numerous issues being found in MLB 10: The Show, the heavy concentration of which are seen in Franchise mode, it would stand to reason that a patch would be expedited. However it is now being realized that the next patch will be a long ways off as work on it won't even begin until the end of the month. That could make its targeted arrival late April, but even that isn't going to be assured and it could very well be longer. As posted today on the MLB: The Show Community Forum by SCEA ...
  • MLB 10 Issues Plaguing Franchise Mode

While mentioned around release time there are a bunch of problems in Franchise mode for MLB 10: The Show. SCEA has been actively trackingĀ  these and responding with potential fixes to be implemented down the line. The roles seemingly have reversed this year as MLB 2K10 struggles with online play and The Show faces troubles in offline modes primarily Franchise. The roster update that came out earlier today fixed the player "potential" grades however it left the inordinate number of "A" rate...

The roster update for MLB 10: The Show that was scheduled to be released today is out now. This update is particularly anticipated because it carries with it a fix to the player potential grades that was damaging franchise mode. For those of you who don't have online access I have made the update available for download here. Players that had "potential" rating below what they should have received adjustments in this update. However there still seems to be an inordinate number of 'A' rated m...

As I continue to play the new baseball titles and collect general and online impressions I've also recorded some videosĀ  from MLB 10: The Show that I figured would be worth posting up, especially given that the demo did not even come out this week. In this group of videos there are two focusing on gameplay, one with an inning of Rangers @ Mariners and the other a stretch of action with the Reds @ Marlins. There is also a video with an appearance in Road to the Show and a run through of the Ho...
