    The MLB The Show series is nothing if not consistent and predictable, and that encompasses both the numerous ways in which it excels and any struggles or deficiencies it tends to carry over from one edition to the next. With MLB The Show 17 noteworthy effort has been put into sprucing up some areas of weakness such as incorporating story-like elements in Road to the Show and two new commentators in the booth, but otherwise there isn't a whole lot new to be spoken of feature wise.   • The first Diamond Dynasty Event has now opened a day late in MLB The Show 17

    Events are a new feature in MLB The Show 17's Diamond Dynasty, providing an additional purpose for lower-rated cards which will be useful depending on the various themes that will be applied to them. The first one has gone live today involving rosters filled with only Common and Bronze players and will remain open into next Tuesday.  (more…)...

    MLB The Show 17 marks the third year that the series features legends from the past. 30 were introduced MLB 15 and that number was doubled in MLB 16. The latest edition of the game has added 15 more players from the baseball's past to that prestigious group.     While server issues are common for many games in the early hours of release MLB The Show is coming off a particularly rough launch last year and things aren't going well so far. The servers for MLB The Show 17 have been down since official release late last evening, preventing consumers from playing online games, Online Franchise, Challenge of the Week, and the most promoted mode in the game Diamond Dynasty.     Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw are rated 99 Overall in MLB The Show now for four years running. They're followed by Jose Altuve, Andrew Miller, Kenley Jansen, Josh Donaldson, and Kris Bryant in MLB The Show 17. Last season began with Miguel Cabrera and Bryce Harper ranked #3 and #4 respectively but they've slid down considerably from that point.
