More often than not screenshots are the first media seen on an upcoming sports game. But despite multiple trailers and streams, and the majority of features having been revealed, it wasn't until now that SCEA provided the first actual official screenshots for MLB The Show 16. Check out all 20 of them in the FB album. There are a few things to look for specifically in these, including the "physically based rendering" that improves the look of objects around the stadium, and the name text o...

While the refresh of Diamond Dynasty was warmly received last year in MLB 15 - winning the award for Best Team-Building Mode - what quickly became apparent was that everyone eventually reached a point where teams were comprised of all the same players. For the mode in the upcoming MLB The Show 16 new features have been added to provide incentive for rosters to be put together with a wider variety of players. New this year is the ability to play against friends with Diamond Dynasty teams, ...

The MLB The Show 16 stream earlier this week that focused on gameplay improvements was unable to cover everything of note, and a new one today went into detail on some other features that will be enjoyed in the game this year. That includes the much anticipated return of Sounds of the Show, which will allow for up to 6GB of MP3s to be added for use with walk-up and home run music, crowd chants and yells, and playing when in the menus. Among the other things touched on are the addition o...

The first promotional push for MLB The Show 16 related to Road to the Show with the "Perks" and "Showtime" features generating decidedly mixed reaction. Gameplay should be a different story, as there will naturally be those who feel not enough has been done, but all that which has been improved upon will likely be viewed in a positive light. The primary focus for this year was on variety in animations, but there are also new elements of personality that have been injected, while major i...

A live stream held today by MLB The Show 16 developers went through improvements to expect for gameplay. The most notable changes affect bunt logic and base stealing - both desperately needed after being exploited heavily last year. A ton of work has gone into the variety of animations, performance of players who are out of their primary position, new types of swings and running styles, 20 umpires all with unique personalities, more personalized home run rituals like Edwin Encarnacio...

Just over a week ago a number of improvements and additions were detailed for Road to the Show mode in MLB The Show 16. Among them were gameplay perks and ShowTime, both of which weren't very warmly received as concerns have arisen about the mode getting too gimmicky. More attractive to RTTS veterans is no longer having to go back to the menus after every game and enhancements to scouting and the Topps Prospect Showcase. MLB The Show 16 developers dove in deeper to RTTS with the first o...
