Following up for the first time since the feature reveals from a few weeks ago, 2K Sports today released a new trailer for NBA 2K14 that focuses on the "Eco-Motion" game engine that was built for the two next-gen systems. Improvements to the foot-planting were most evident in the only gameplay footage seen so far but Eco-Motion is said to also greatly enhance the atmosphere, crowd, and the emotion from players.  (more…)...
  • NBA 2K14 Will Have Content Exclusive to PlayStation 4
    Posted November 5th, 2013 at 12:00 pm 23 Comments »
In a new trailer today for the PS4 it has been revealed that NBA 2K14 will have exclusive content for the system which is due out November 15. There was no indication of what that might amount to but is another thing to consider - besides the possibility the game will run better on the PS4 than Xbox One - in making purchase decisions this month and going forward. It's telling that even the NBA 2K14 developers are favoring the PS4 and that is something you'd never expect to hear publicly voic...

Yesterday 2K Sports released the first in-season roster update for NBA 2K14 and following opening night's action a second update has made it out. While the first one dealt primarily with moving players to injured status this update attempts to fix many of the incorrect lineups and rotations with a number of individuals moving from free agency on to their proper teams. No player ratings have been altered. Only two players were added (Mike Harris, Hamady N'Diaye) leaving 23 still missing co...

  • Dr. J Added to NBA 2K14
    Posted October 25th, 2013 at 3:15 pm 9 Comments »
Despite carrying over most of the legends from the previous iterations NBA 2K14 lost a couple big names and even a few entire teams. One of the most prominent missing players was Julius Erving. 'Dr. J' appeared in NBA 2K12 but was absent from 2K13 and until earlier today 2K14. 2K Sports has added Erving to the 1976-77 Philadelphia 76ers historic team however he remains missing from the 1984-85 Sixers squad. For now that one 76ers team is the only place to find him but eventually he will m...

    Posted October 24th, 2013 at 6:15 pm 9 Comments »
The deluge of info yesterday regarding the Xbox One and PS4 versions of NBA 2K14 was then followed by gameplay footage. Still there is a lot to learn about the game with just three weeks until release of the PS4. The four central modes (MyCareer, MyTeam, MyGM, and NBA Today) were discussed but not in great detail. Screenshots released today provide at least a glimpse of a few of those modes and how they'll differ from current-gen. There is one screenshot each that comes from MyCareer, MyT...
  • First NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Gameplay Footage
    Posted October 23rd, 2013 at 7:00 pm 92 Comments »
The first video featuring direct feed gameplay footage from next-gen NBA 2K14 comes from Gamespot on the heels of all the feature reveals today. While the reviewer expresses thoughts after playing briefly what is more valuable is that first look at the game in action. Graphics certainly look significantly better and the foot-planting evident but otherwise it looks a lot like the 2K basketball consumers have been drawn to in recent years and not as drastic a change some may have envision...

There is only a little over three weeks until it arrives for the PS4 and under a month away from Xbox One. • First Official Next-Gen NBA 2K14 Screenshot; Comparison With Current-Gen
    Posted October 14th, 2013 at 11:45 am 51 Comments »
2K Sports today released the first official screenshot for Xbox One/PS4 NBA 2K14. That in itself isn't especially newsworthy after having seen brief footage of how the game should look with the E3 teaser and the recent TV commercial. However putting the next-gen LeBron James up against current-gen will make the differences really stand out. Even details like how the jersey doesn't float over the shoulders and the fix being made so the single digit number is under the "T" rather than the "...
