Four months ago EA Sports announced a delay to the release of NBA Live 20. The game coming out late this year or early 2020 would not have seemed beneficial for sales but a "different approach" was being teased that could have related to either the game's design or its distribution. Despite that there was obvious reason for skepticism that NBA Live 20 would actually end up reaching the market given the history of the series over the last decade. Today EA made it official that NBA Live 20 ...

It had become apparent in recent weeks that something was going on with NBA Live 20. Despite a nearing release date the game had not been officially announced or made available for preorder. Additionally the NBA Live website had been been completely scrubbed and contained only a single static non-game image and a roster update with next season's transactions was pushed out in Live 19 which typically would have been held for the next edition. The reasoned speculation was put to rest today ...

The third EA Sports game from 2018 has reached the Vault in EA Access. NBA Live 19 is now available in full to all subscribers. This follows the temporary drop in price last month to just $6 on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. EA Access is currently exclusive to Xbox One with Sony declining to offer the service on PS4 despite its remarkable value. EA executives have hinted that could change possibly this year however. For $30 a year or $5 month-to-month, members get unlimited access to th...

It has become the norm for dramatic discounts to be offered on NBA Live given that the series has failed to gain traction in recent years even despite marginal improvement in quality and a few slip-ups from the competition. However it is still wild to see the price of an in-season, and actually in this case mid-season, annual sports title drop this low. NBA Live 19 is available now and for the next week for just $6 digitally on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While NBA Live 19 lacks the ...
  • New patch for NBA Live 19 adds features and addresses other consumer feedback

Already having been (temporarily) found at a massive discount, NBA Live 19 can now also offer a series of improvements to the game that have some real substance behind them. While they won't help Live 19 become more of an NBA game, the update does fill in some of the gaps otherwise with the addition of player editing for Franchise Mode, the ability to practice on your created court with your created player, new signature animations for a number of players, and considerable tuning having been...
  • With the season still weeks away, NBA Live 19 is already being offered at a deep discount

Last year NBA Live 18 was sold for $40 pre-release, jumped back up to the contractually obligated $60 on release day, and then three weeks later was dropped down to $30 by various retailers. With NBA Live 19 there was a similar pre-order offer and now, again three weeks after release, the opportunity to get the game on sale but for even cheaper than that. Currently a digital copy on PlayStation 4 has seen the price has dropped to $30, but for PlayStation Plus subscribers an additional 20%...

The contraction of the sports video game genre within the last 10+ years has reduced the sports with competition down to only a few, and one of those has barely just hung on and isn't at all competitive. With that in mind, in soccer and basketball there are multiple options to consider spending money on, but consumers may already have pre-conceived notions of which they should choose while others may be up into the air as to a decision. Battling on the pitch is FIFA 19 and Pro Evolution S...

NBA Live 19 can now be downloaded as a timed trial with EA Access on Xbox One. Subscribers to the service will get 10 hours of playtime after which it will expire. The timer is ticking down whenever the game is loaded regardless of whether it is being played, menus are being navigated through, or if there is any activity taking place at all. Because of that make sure to exit out and close the application from the Xbox One home screen when not in use. The 10 hours are there to play immedia...
