    Posted September 28th, 2015 at 9:30 am 39 Comments »
NBA Live 16 isĀ a fun game to play, but is that enough to catapult the series to a place where it has become actual competitionĀ - and is potentially worth a purchase decision - after five years of misery? Check out the complete review of the game over at Sporting News today. For those on the fence, the demo is a great opportunity to get a feel for the game as it contains pretty much everything that's new to Live for this year. EA Sports is even keeping the online Pro-Am portion of it run...

The demo for NBA Live 16 has essentially showcased all the major improvements to the game for this year with the online Pro-Am modes and of course basic gameplay. That makes the EA Access trial period less of an event, but there's a lot that has opened up through it as well. I'm working towards a review for Sporting News that will go up Monday. Until then, check out some of the early gameplay videos that have been captured from the full game!Ā  (more…)...
  • 10 hour trial for NBA Live 16 now available through EA Access on Xbox One
    Posted September 23rd, 2015 at 2:00 pm 26 Comments »
NBA Live 16Ā isĀ out now to download as a timed trial with EA Access on Xbox One. Subscribers to the service will get 10 hours of playtime after which it will expire. The timer is ticking down whenever the game is loaded regardless of whether it is being played, menus are being navigated through, or if there is any activity taking place at all. So make sure to exit out and close the application from the Xbox One home screen when not in use. The 10 hours are there to play whether or not it...
  • EA gambled in attempt to get NBA Live 16 positive publicity and they lost
    Posted September 19th, 2015 at 10:15 am 67 Comments »
The NBA Live franchise has somehow made it through arguably the worst five year stretch of any sports game of our time. A cancellation, a year off, another cancellation, a terrible release they later apologized for, and a decent effort that saw sales fall because of the previous year. EA Sports can't seem to catch a break - but often it's of their own doing. That's the case again after awful player faces for some of the professionals in the game went viral yesterday. Many of the faces ...
  • NBA Live 16 demo impressions
    Posted September 17th, 2015 at 5:45 pm 26 Comments »
Last year with NBA Live 15, EA Sports was able to get the series back to a level of respectability. It still lagged far behind the competition in just about every aspect however and question remained on its viability in today's marketplace. For NBA Live 16 the company is going all-in with two new online modes, both of which fall under Live Pro-Am, and continued improvement to gameplay. Will that be enough when the rest of the game is essentially unchanged?Ā  (more…)...
  • The NBA Live 16 demo is out now
    Posted September 15th, 2015 at 9:45 am 35 Comments »
The demo for NBA Live 16 is now available to download on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It's a unique oneĀ in that it includes an online component and the ability to create a character that will carry over to the full game should it be purchased. FeaturedĀ are six teams to use in standard exhibition games (Bulls, Cavaliers, Clippers, Thunder, Warriors, Wizards) along with tutorial drills, shootaround, and scrimmage. But it's the Live Pro-Am that takes center stage. There are two online mo...
  • Lengthy NBA Live 16 gameplay videos from live stream
    Posted September 14th, 2015 at 8:15 am 15 Comments »
Following footage recorded off-screen at E3, NBA Live 16 went somewhat into hiding and since then has avoided the release of any gameplay footage, knowing that a great deal would ride on the demo anyway. However EA Sports gave out copies of the game at a party on Saturday night - many of which have since ended up on Ebay - and that means footage of the game would inevitably get out no matter whatever efforts EA would take to prevent that from happening. Already there has been a live strea...
  • Live Pro-Am announcement had some traction, but can it carry the game to sales?
    Posted September 1st, 2015 at 5:15 pm 6 Comments »
Both NBA Live 16Ā and NBA 2K16 are rolling out a significant online-based mode that shares the same name. The importance each one holdsĀ is wildly different however, with Live Pro-Am being the main feature of that game, while 2K's Pro-Am is just one of severalĀ modes that offerĀ considerableĀ depth. Based on the results of the poll on the two, Live has done well with its announcement as it has attracted some interest. 29% of respondents found themselves more intrigued by Live's Pro-Am com...
