While both basketball games will be providing opportunities to play selected portions prior to release, it's NBA Live 19 that is first out of the gate with a demo on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Featured in the demo is Play Now with the reigning champion Golden State Warriors taking on the Boston Celtics, and from the WNBA it's the Los Angeles Sparks vs Minnesota Lynx. Play Now has to be unlocked however by first completing two games of "The Rise" through career mode The ONE. Also include...

For years now NBA 2K has offered the ability to customize courts (and surrounding elements) for expansion teams and use in its online Pro-Am Mode. NBA Live 19 will introduce its own court customization, and though impressive will find the creations restricted to usage in private online games and practices in The One mode. With just over three weeks to go until release, and 11 days until the demo, EA Sports continues revealing more features for NBA Live 19's Career Mode which was unquestio...
  • How to pre-order and save big on NBA Live 19

Last year EA Sports attempted to entice consumers to try NBA Live 18 by aggressively dropping the price post-release. Prior to that though they also hoped to generate some pre-orders by discounting the price of the game for day one down to $40 (it went up to $60 upon release). Even at the lower price it was probably asking too much to expect all but a few to commit to a game that wasn't guaranteed to be up-to-par given the history of the series over the last decade. Now though, coming off...
  • Additional NBA Live 19 details include new commentary team

NBA Live 19 wasn't able to generate much buzz out of EA Play, despite some announcements related to features for the upcoming game that had little to do with the actual NBA. The series was able to get back onto solid footing last year but even while EA was practically giving it away it didn't gain a whole lot of traction with consumers. Strengths are looking to be capitalized on with NBA Live 19 by expanding The One career mode while introducing Real Player Motion, the new animation technolo...
  • NBA Live 19 cover athlete is Joel Embiid

The last few years has seen EA Sports attempt to attract consumers with cover athletes that would go on to win league MVP in James Harden and Russell Westbrook, but the NBA Live series is going back to its traditional roots of selecting a young player still very much on the rise as Joel Embiid will appear on the cover of NBA Live 19. Embiid would seem to be the ideal representative for the series given his social media reach, likable and scrappy personality, and his place on a team that r...
  • NBA Live 18 added to EA Access Vault

Posted February 16th, 2018 at 8:15 am No Comments »
Recent sales that have taken the price of NBA Live 18 down to $7.50 and even as low now as $4.50 made it obvious that an addition to the EA Access Vault on Xbox One would be happening sooner rather than later. Live 19 is now the second EA Sports game from 2017 to have reached the Vault joining Madden NFL 18 as being available in full to all subscribers. EA Access is currently exclusive to Xbox One with Sony declining to offer the service on PS4 despite its remarkable value. EA executives ...

It took almost three weeks since the rosters were drafted for NBA Live 18 to get the complete set of All-Star content into the game but the uniforms and court have finally arrived with a patch that went out today. That patch has also made a number of adjustments to gameplay, delivered a number of player likeness updates and more.  (more…)...
  • NBA Live 18 gets its deep discount now for PlayStation 4

Earlier in January a deal on NBA Live 18 brought the game down to its lowest price point ever of just $7.49 but only on Xbox One. That same deal has now reached the PS4 and will be available for the next week to PSPlus subscribers. Given the turbulence of the series over the last decade there was never a chance that NBA Live 18 would sell many copies no matter how good the game would turn out to be. Skepticism from consumers was more than justified and its competitor too popular and well ...
