EA Sports of course though dominated a section of the show with next-gen versions of Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, EA Sports UFC, and NBA Live 14. For Live 14 the game will feature a new dribbling system called "bounceTek" which releases the ball to physics. Stat and roster u...

Last year EA Sports attempted to market NBA Live 13 as "The Future of Basketball" and with it they tied up a number of rising-stars in the league to be a part of their marketing campaign. One of them was Kyrie Irving and as that relationship continues he became one of the favorites to snag the cover of NBA Live 14. Placeholder box art for the next-gen consoles could hint at him being the cover athlete. Click here for the full size image. Along with new box art graphics for the Xbox One an...

After lying dormant for eight months since posting the announcement of NBA Live 13's cancellation EA Sports today sent out a message via multiple NBA Live social platform accounts that NBA Live 14 is "coming to a court near you". The timing is notable as the tease emerges just days before the Microsoft next-gen console reveal which could very well feature an EA presence and is rumored to include some element of exclusivity among the announcements. Should nothing with EA materialize at tha...
  • To Surprise of Few NBA Live Series Found To Be on Shaky Ground Again
    Posted April 30th, 2013 at 11:00 am 23 Comments »
Despite no consumer demand and continued missteps in development EA Sports currently still plans to release an NBA Live entry this year. Four years after publishing NBA Live 10 the company faces what appears to be a no-win situation in choosing between current and next-gen while going up against a behemoth in the NBA 2K series.  (more…)...
  • EA Sports Working on Second NBA Game
    Posted April 8th, 2013 at 5:15 pm 12 Comments »
A new survey advertising a play-session later this week with a conceptually new NBA game at EA Canada has been discovered by NLSC. Those in the Vancouver area who are interested in taking part are asked to complete the survey which includes questions gauging experience with sports video games and level of sports fandom in general. A "new concept" implies something unorthodox and an arcade-style game to counteract NBA 2K14 with the arrival of the new consoles would make more sense than goi...
  • Revisiting the Top Stories of 2012: The Disastrous Road Towards NBA Live 13
    Posted December 12th, 2012 at 12:15 pm 6 Comments »
With two years off to construct NBA Live 13 following the swift demise of the NBA Elite 11 reboot there was a cautious optimism about the product back in February. There was no way that Live could challenge NBA 2K13 but the opportunity was there to reestablish itself and take advantage of some of the openings that the competition had left it. It wouldn't take long however for everything about the title to start crumbling down and expose yet another fraud. (more…)...
  • EA Sports Must Evaluate Their Dedication to NBA and Make Tough Decision
    Posted October 5th, 2012 at 11:15 am 45 Comments »
When EA Sports announced that NBA Live 13 had been cancelled it came as little surprise to anyone following developments behind the series. The signs have been there for months and were covered extensively. Still, despite seemingly all reasoning otherwise, the company claims work on Live will continue with a release next fall. Everyone should recognize however that plans such as that are tentative at best. The series could be ended for good as soon as their next financial call with investors...
  • NBA Live 13 Officially Cancelled
    Posted September 27th, 2012 at 2:00 pm 164 Comments »
It's been a tumultuous summer for the return of the NBA Live series which, early on, actually looked somewhat promising. Things began to crumble though with a sham of a promotion for a community event, a horrible showing at E3, EA Sports going into hiding despite rumblings of trouble and various rumors, and leaked footage that showed the game in a poor light. The game was recently "delayed" though cancellation looked to be the most likely outcome. The final nail in the coffin was likely ...
