• Draft day commercial for NBA Live 08 and NCAA March Madness 08 being made
by pastapadre
Posted June 3rd, 2007 at 12:43 am
It appears there is a good chance that a commercial for the upcoming NBA Live and March Madness games will appear during the NBA Draft on June 28th. Recently at the NFL Draft the first commercials for Madden 08 were on display, and featuring a commercial for these two upcoming games with their respective cover athletes would make a lot of sense at the draft this month. Gilbert Arenas mentions in his blog that he will be joining Kevin Durant to film a commercial for EA Sports on June 5th. ...

The official website from EA Sports for NBA Live 08 has gone live. You can check it out by clicking here. Currently on it you can find the news on Gilbert Arenas being selected for the cover as well as the his videos that came out from right around the same time. The producer blogs which have been released on IGN are there as well as the signup for the game's newsletter. Also available are team wallpapers (a new team is added each day) and a countdown to the draft. The Madden website had t...
• Kevin Durant to be on the cover of March Madness 08
by pastapadre
Posted May 28th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
Kevin Durant will be the cover athlete for EA Sports NCAA March Madness 08 as reported by the Seattle Times. Durant is widely expected to be taken second in the 2007 NBA Draft and go to the Seattle Supersonics. It is possible however that the Portland Trailblazers could take him at number one where they have the choice between him or Ohio State's Greg Oden. In averaging 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game as a Freshman for the Texas Longhorns, Durant won the AP College Player ...
• NBA Live joins the producer blog party
by pastapadre
Posted May 22nd, 2007 at 2:16 am
Those behind developing NBA Live 08, such as Lead Producer Brian Ullrich, will have blogs detailing different aspects of the game and process behind creating it hosted on IGN throughout the summer. Madden recently started the wave of producer blogs, being featured on the EA Sports website and now as well on IGN. The first one for NBA Live is up now. Nothing really new comes out of that particular entry that hasn't been covered elsewhere such as in my first look write-up. I think I've had enou...
• Early look at the PS3’s NBA 08
by pastapadre
Posted May 17th, 2007 at 5:11 am
Sony has released a trailer for NBA 08 on the Playstation 3. The SCEA franchise will follow up on NBA 07 which came out with the system launch. IGN also recently had an interview with the game's producer. As a first party developer, you would expect them to be pushing the capabilities of the system. Yet SCEA doesn't seem to do that. The visuals on NBA 07, and the early visuals for 08, are sub-par. Even the much more highly regarded MLB 07: The Show has what most would consider "last-gen" grap...

• First look at NBA Live 08

Posted May 4th, 2007 at 10:56 pm
Recently I was invited to visit the EA Canada studio in Burnaby BC to check out some of the titles that are currently being worked on for release later this year. Granted, the builds are at a very early point in development and EA isn't revealing all the details on them, however it offers a great opportunity to see the direction that they are headed and the focus that is going into them. It is no secret that NBA Live 07 didn't end up being the product that the developers and consumers had hop...

• Gilbert Arenas talks about being on the cover of NBA Live 08
by pastapadre
Posted April 29th, 2007 at 10:55 pm
Here is a video of Gilbert Arenas, the newly announced cover athlete for EA Sports NBA Live 08, as he talks about what it means to have received the honor. You gotta love his enthusiasm. It's clear that it isn't just about the money (cough...Tomlinson...cough) but he is really excited about the opportunity to be on the cover of the game. He's not just going through the motions of standard PR, but he is loving every second of this. Only "Agent Zero" would call...
