With Black Friday still over three weeks away, an opportunity to pick up NBA 2K16 at a discount before then has popped up today. Amazon has the game for $47 on PS4 and Xbox One. 2K16 has been out now for over a month now and opinions on the game really haven't changed. It's arguably the most impressively assembled sports game ever released. The Michael Jordan Special Edition was also offered for $20 off earlier today as a lightning deal but that has now expired. For those...

There are a bunch that teams have revealed already - some yet to make it into the game - and others that are known about but have not been made official by the teams which has to happen first. Those are in addition to the Christmas jerseys which will come later also. The first batch of new unis were recently added to NBA 2K16. They include the Spurs "Stretch" alternate, Nuggets "Pride" WHITEGOLD alternate, and He...

The news on NBA Live 16's abysmal sales has brought into greater focus the precarious position the series finds itself in now. With a brand that seems irreparably damaged, at some point EA Sports will be forced into the decision of shutting it down for good, or spinning it into something dramatically different than it is now. With that in mind, Rich Grisham and I discuss the current situation for NBA Live, how it ended up in this place, considerations that the company has been and will be...

    Posted October 21st, 2015 at 9:45 am 2 Comments »
The patch that went out last Tuesday on PlayStation 4 for NBA 2K16 has finally gone live on Xbox One. It primarily focuses on getting the 2K Pro-Am up and running. That means it was nearly a full month that consumers on XB1 went without the new mode being functional. Other minor issues have been addressed, the biggest being a fix to MyCourt to make them joinable. The next patch, which will have a heavy focus on gameplay and other areas largely driven by consumer feedback, is not expected ...

It was evident that NBA Live 16 was DOA as soon as it released. Activity numbers in the game were dreadful, and ever since even at peak hours there aren't more than 120 or so people connected and playing. While it's difficult to get any actual sales numbers these days we now have a true indication of just how poorly the game has done.  (more…)...

It took several weeks for Pro-Am to get up and running properly in NBA 2K16. The recent patch has fixed the primary issues - out on PS4 but Xbox One is still waiting on that - providing an opportunity to try it out in full for the first time. (more…)...

While most mobile sports games have gone the free-to-play direction and away from playing like traditional console games, 2K Sports surprisingly has continued to produce premium apps that attempt to offer a similar experience while using on-screen touch controls. The latest is NBA 2K16 which has just gone out for iOS devices and Android devices. This game is not to be confused with the MyNBA2K16 app which is the free companion to the console game. The new mobile version of NBA 2K16 is so...
