    The roster update following week three of the season for Madden NFL 16 is available now on all platforms. A few players find themselves inching closer to the coveted 99 Overall rating while no one in the mid-upper 90s saw their ratings fall in the update.   • 9th Circuit ruling on O’Bannon complicates potential return of college games

    When Judge Claudia Wilken ruled in favor of the plaintiffs in the Ed O'Bannon vs NCAA class-action lawsuit, there was reason for optimism that college sports video games would be able to return in a few years. That was pending appeals however, and the 9th Circuit today turned in its response, reaffirming that the NCAA violated antitrust laws, but striking down the part where a trust would be set up for players to be paid for the use of their likenesses.  (more…)...

    Madden NFL 16 has now been out for a month now and today the second major patch for the game went live. The first patch addressed some of the most pressing issues with the game; ones that were holding up being able to play franchise mode and an unavoidable encroachment bug that was harming nearly every game that was played. This new update to the game includes several more fixes to Franchise mode plus a number of fixes that affect gameplay.  (more…)...

    The roster update following week two of the season has just gone out for Madden NFL 16 on all systems. The update includes the trade of Matt Cassel to the Cowboys and the return of Kam Chancellor with the end of his holdout. Ravens offensive guard Marshal Yanda has also joined the elite club of 99 Overall rated players. Check out the spreadsheet which highlights all the changes that have been made.     The most anticipated roster update of the season has arrived for Madden NFL 16 on all systems. The update reflects the final 53 man rosters heading into the regular season, including depth chart adjustments plus jersey number and position changes, and even movement in the Speed Rating for quite a few players.  (more…)...
  • Free player likeness update improves 188 faces in Madden NFL 16

    EA Sports has released a free likeness update for Madden NFL 16 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that delivers new face scans to the game for a great number of players. Last November Madden 15 received a surprise update which affected the likenesses of over 150 players, so there's precedent there for EA to do this.     Despite yesterday's patch, which cited regression of left tackles in Franchise Mode as having been tuned, problems remain with them in Madden NFL 16. Simmed games appear to be the culprit, with poor to mediocre left tackles giving up an extraordinary number of sacks.
