Next in line with the ratings reveals for Madden NFL 16 are the quarterbacks. Unlike the running backs yesterday, it's not the same top five that ended Madden NFL 15, and even the order of how they stack up has changed. (more…)...
  • Top Rated Running Backs in Madden NFL 16

After revealing the top rated rookies yesterday, EA Sports has turned attention to the returning players of the league in what appears to be the start of 22 straight (week) days in which ratings will be rolled out for Madden NFL 16. Today the focus is on the top rated running backs. Leading the way is Marshawn Lynch with an Overall Rating of 96. Lynch finished Madden NFL 15 as the highest rated back so it should be no surprise that he leads the way to start the new season. In fact, the t...

The learning curve, and potential that they may sit to begin their career, means positions like offensive tackle and wide receiver get an edge in early ratings. That proves true again this year as it's the #4 pick in the draft, Amari Cooper, who comes out on top for Madden NFL 16, though #1 pick Jameis Winston is right behind by only a single point. The #2 pick, Marcus Mariota, f...

The Madden NFL 16 videos to come out of E3 really haven't showcased much new in regards to presentation. A few small things were identified, like augmented reality elements, and active cameramen. Otherwise the game has looked fairly similar to years' past, with practically the same commentary, poor replay angles, and the lack of a true in-game score ticker. Today EA Sports rolled out details on the work that has been done to presentation, and they go into several areas that either weren't...

Earlier this week I took a closer look at some gameplay footage of Madden NFL 16, pulling out relevant clips and attempting to identify what the game has added or improved upon and what might still need some work at this stage of development. There were a number of videos captured from E3 however, and certainly there's much more to learn from them - so here's part two which features a breakdown of another original video!  (more…)...
  • Popularity of EA Sports games gauged through E3 trailer views
    Posted June 23rd, 2015 at 12:15 pm 15 Comments »
EA Sports rolled out new trailers for their upcoming games at E3. What kind of traction have they had on Youtube and is there anything to be gleaned from view numbers? What probably stands out the most is how Madden really isn't drawing at a rate that would be representative of its sales numbers - something that seems to be a trend over recent years.  (more…)...
