The roster update for Madden 10 may have been skipped last week but assurances have been made that there will be one out this week. Along with the first patch which is expected within the next few days and the AFL downloadable content coming on Thursday it will be an eventful week for Madden.
After the first few games one standout has been Jets CB Darrelle Revis who has shut down two of the best receivers in the league, Andre Johnson and Randy Moss, in consecutive weeks. His 91 overall sh...

There will be no Madden 10 roster update this week according to Donny Moore. The message left in the rosters and ratings forum below announced this earlier today.
We don't like to react prematurely to performance issues so we don't plan to update the rosters this week. We will be back next week with a comprehensive update that includes key performance changes as well as any major depth chart adjustments. Looking ahead, we plan to update the rosters as needed throughout NFL season. Expect se...

With the opening to the NFL season now complete we can turn towards the roster update for Madden 10 that is expected to come out late this week. Of course it is very early and week one isn't necessarily indicative of performance throughout the entirety of the regular season. That being said there are players who deserve to go up or down based on the results of the first game.
Pulling notes from Donny Moore on Twitter some of the changes to look forward to based on just the Monday Night Fo...
Madden Curse Strikes Early

In the NFL season opener, co-cover athlete for Madden 10 Troy Polamalu suffered what is currently being called an MCL sprain that will keep him out at least 3-6 weeks. This lead to the inevitable rush of Madden curse articles which has been the case for years now. Understandably when he was injured the initial reaction of many was to note that the cover curse had struck yet again. Many would argue that it just can't be written off as a coincidence any longer with its consistency and in this ...

The official sales for August were released yesterday offering the opportunity to analyze the sales of Madden 10. The 360 version sold 928,000 and the PS3 sold 665,000 for a total of 1.59 million copies. Compared to last year sales fell from 1.64 million. So with a drop of 50,000 copies representing 3% Madden held relatively strong compared to other recent releases. The sales aren't anything to celebrate though as EA would obviously look at the increase in user base as a potential for sales ...

Easily the most significant in terms of number of changes made, the third roster update for Madden 10 has been completed and will be out soon (hopefully today, possibly tomorrow) for the 360 and PS3. This update is meant to be accurate to the team's 53 man regular season rosters following the final cut-downs as well as incorporate the moves made in the days following along with proper alignment of the depth charts.
Of note is the removal of Michael Crabtree from the 49ers depth chart. Wit...

The details of the first patch for Madden 10 are now out thanks to a FAQ video posted by Ian Cummings on the Inside EA Blog. The patch is currently in certification and could be out as early as next week. The second patch which will be more concentrated on gameplay feedback is currently in the works.
This first patch is even more significant in that it has addressed some areas that normally wouldn't have been in a release day patch as well as adding new content with the inclusion of the b...

One of the most frequent questions I receive has to do with when the next Madden roster update is expected to be out. For the start of the NFL regular season update I've been stating that the attempt would be made to have it out prior to the opening game on Thursday night. That has been confirmed today by both Donny Moore and Phil Frazier.
While they are making a push to have it out before the opener that may not be possible given the scope of the changes. So they are providing a wider wi...
