Pursuit Angles in NCAA Football 10
One of the biggest gripes the community had with NCAA Football this last year was the pursuit angles taken by defensive players. In this week's posting on the Inside EA Blog designer Russell Kiniry goes over the improvements made to pursuit angles and demonstrates with two sets of videos comparing 09 to 10. You can check out the full posting here.
We’ve really only begun to scratch the surface of this year’s game and we haven’t even hinted about a few of the biggest additions. Sadly w...
NCAA Football 10: Pocket Protection
One of the first reactions to the earlier screenshots for NCAA Football 10 was concern over how it appeared to have some of the same flaws as previous years. There was no sense of a pocket or pass rush evident and the QB was able to scramble out at will. Granted those screens were intended to show off something else completely and are early work-in-progress looks at the game. Still though it is good to see EA respond with a blog posting concentrating on the formation of a pocket.
We are sti...
NCAA Football 10 Community Event Coverage
While the actual attendees at the NCAA Football 10 Community Event aren't going to be in a position to speak about game details EA Sports is providing a good deal of interesting on-going coverage. This is all less about promoting the game and more on how the event benefits both EA and the consumers and the process behind it all. I'll go ahead and keep track of everything below and add links in throughout the day.

New Gameplay Camera in NCAA Football 10
Yesterday brought some new information on NCAA Football 10. There will be four different cover athletes announced in a month and on April 9th the first look at Online Dynasty will go out. We also got details on the Season Showdown online mode.
Madden 09 had the "action cam" which was good in theory though it presented its own drawbacks. Basically the idea is to keep all the players on screen. It looks like NCAA is going the same direction as the latest Inside EA Blog posting details the new c...
NCAA Football 10: Every Game Counts
Earlier this evening I speculated that the "Every Game Counts" motto for NCAA Football 10 would tie into a big new feature or mode. What that is has actually just been revealed in the press release announcement for the game.
True to the tradition of the award-winning franchise, NCAA Football 10 continues to push the bar on innovation with new online modes. NCAA Football 10 brings the excitement of college football to fans across the nation like never before with its new...
NCAA Football 10 Website Reveals New Info
The official website for NCAA Football 10 went live earlier this evening. Normally this isn't that significant of an event however this time the website has provided some new information on the game.
Despite earlier indications there will be different cover athletes for each version of NCAA this year. "Four covers, Four athletes, Four schools." The covers will be announced in 32 days which would mean Sunday April 19th.
The motto for this year is "Every Game Counts" which surely ties in...
The Evolving Community Event
A new posting on the Inside EA Blog details an upcoming community event for NCAA Football 10 and how the philosophy and ultimate intentions of these events have changed over the years. EA Sports has especially engaged the community over the last five years or so and now SCEA has begun to do so with The Show. Both companies have recognized that the community is valuable not only as consumers but also as a resource for making their games better.
Why tell you about the event if you won't hear ...
Custom Conferences in NCAA Football 10
The latest Inside EA Blog posting for NCAA Football 10 discusses the addition of custom conferences in dynasty mode. This applies both to offline dynasties as well as online ones. You can read all about it and see additional screenshots here.
However, sometimes it’s not that easy, sometimes it can be next to impossible to find a conference with the right mix of teams to make everyone happy. Well in NCAA Football 10 we have made life easier on commissioners across the nation with the addit...
Super Sim in NCAA Football 10
This week's NCAA Football 2010 update focuses on the improvements being made to the Super Sim feature for this year. Those improvements include a new way of presenting it, proper CPU clock management, and the ability to skip plays in Campus Legend. You can read about it on the Inside EA Blog here.
I'm definitely happy to find that you'll be able to sim through any Campus Legend plays you don't want to participate in. I remember how annoying it was to have to cover kickoffs. This also open...
NCAA Football 10: Its In The Details
In the second blog focused on NCAA Football 10, designer Adam Thompson goes over some of the new additions to the game that would be considered as small but authentic details. Included are field goal nets, camera flashes, and team specific bowl endzones. You can read the full posting on the Inside EA Blog which includes a few screenshots here.
Before we had to use a single piece of art for every field. With 120 teams and 38 bowl and championship games there was no way to create a field fo...
