There have been plenty of indications that EA would have a presence at the Microsoft press conference which is set for tomorrow to debut their new console. That has now been confirmed as FIFA 14 will be shown off at the event. Whether Madden and NBA Live will appear remains unknown - it'll either happen there or at an E3 press conference on June 10. The rumors over some form of exclusivity to Microsoft from EA continues to be an intriguing possibility but it would be hard to believe FIFA ...

While much of the discussion around upcoming releases has centered on the complete dismissal of the Wii U (nothing coming its way) and the emergence of the PS4 and next Xbox (Madden, FIFA, NBA 2K, and possibly NBA Live) there have also been questions relating to the PlayStation Vita. No sports games through the end of the year have been confirmed for the handheld but Gamestop has now posted a listing for FIFA 14. They are very unlikely to have done so without having received information that...

Until then here are some additional bullet points of interest regarding what to expect from FIFA 14.  (more...)...

On Sunday mention was made that women weren't going to make their way into FIFA 14. Despite a strongly supported petition and females appearing in the NHL franchise along with an expanding presence in Tiger Woods the combination of work that would need to be done and lack of time to do so (and possibly an evaluation of return on that investment) resulted in EA Sports shutting the door on the idea for this year at least.  (more...)...

One day after discussing the huge success that has been the FIFA franchise EA Sports has announced an extension to the current licensing agreement with FIFA that will stretch all the way though 2022. EA retains exclusive rights to FIFA branded games and that also includes the World Cup - the next entry of which should release late April or May 2014. It came as a surprise that Electronic Arts had no presence at the big PS4 announce event back in February. Not only was there no Madden or FIFA to tout but the company sat it out completely. That will likely not be the case with Microsoft's upcoming reveal event - whether rumored exclusivity of some sort is involved or not.  (more...)...
