Recently the first screenshots for FIFA Football on the upcoming PlayStation Vita handheld were released - and along with that some discussion on the viability of handhelds in this age of mobile phone gaming. Now comes the full list of features to expect and that includes touch screen controls, Be-a-Pro career mode, and online play. There is no doubt it makes for a much richer FIFA experience than that found on the iPhone - the question though is how big the market will be for an offering at...
  • Xbox Account Hackings Continue; Connection to FIFA Creates Concerns

A few weeks back on Google Plus I wrote about how thieves have been targeting Xbox accounts in order to profit from selling FIFA Ultimate Team card packs (along with spending the MS points on the account or charging the card attached for more). Instances of that haven't subsided - and it's even happened to members of the community and individuals I'm familiar with through social media channels. A lot has been made over the ties to the FIFA series as there is no doubt that it goes beyond a...

EA Sports today released the first set of images for the upcoming FIFA Street - and the first features to expect out of the game have also been detailed. Expected for release in March (and available to 'Season Ticket' subscribers 3+ days early) FIFA Street will be a full retail release unlike recent arcade-style titles like NBA Jam: On Fire Edition or the upcoming NFL Blitz which have gone the digital download route. FIFA Street will utilize the acclaimed FIFA series gameplay engine along...

The first post-release patch for FIFA 12 arrived today for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. This update most prominently addresses a perceived exploit online as some users were selecting to control the goalie leaving the CPU to handle all defenders - now the option to switch to the goalie has been removed. Otherwise the patch primarily addresses stability issues. Continue on for a look at the full list of changes in the latest patch for FIFA 12.  (more...)...
  • FIFA 12 Shines with Online Seasons

The mode in FIFA 12 that has captured the most of my play-time has been online 'Head-to-Head Seasons'. Reminiscent of 2010 FIFA World Cup in that it offers a ladder of sorts in "divisions" it adds in a fantastic new way of matchmaking which creates the most fair of pairings possible. Despite the struggles with my record all of the games have been thoroughly enjoyable - making it something I want to come back to as often as possible even when anticipating a loss. For anything online relate...
