Over the years the traditional Play Now/Kick-Off type modes have seen their audience shift to the more expansive modes that offer something in return for the time being committed to playing. If it's not the Franchise, Story, or Ultimate Team modes then maybe it's even the Play Now type games that follow along with the real sports seasons. FIFA 19 is offering something brand new for Kick-Off however, and the several unique new ways in which it can be played could make it a destination mode...

The EA Play press briefing today featured the FIFA 19 reveal with the debut of its teaser trailer. EA Sports made the inclusion of Champions League official but that's not exactly news given that it was obvious the series would be getting it when competitor Pro Evolution Soccer announced they lost that license nearly two months ago. The game will release September 28. ...

The World Cup makes it to FIFA 18 today as digital content delivered via patch (XB1, PS4, PC, Switch) over a month past when World Cup games have traditionally released and without most of the non-qualifying nations. What is does have is the attraction of being free, all the authentic stadiums, offline and online tournaments, and naturally lots of Ultimate Team tie-ins.  (more…)...

It's been a disappointing few months as the realization slowly sank in that EA Sports wouldn't be releasing a standalone 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia game. Now finally details on the plans for the World Cup have been revealed today with free DLC on the way for FIFA 18 and thankfully it at least has averted the worst case scenario of being content related solely to Ultimate Team. Coming May 29th (Xbox One, PS4, PC, Switch) the DLC will include the 32 nations that qualified for the tournament...

Seven weeks have now passed since the article was written about the lack of news related to a 2018 FIFA World Cup game. Absolutely nothing has happened in that window of time and this likely would have been the date the game would have released by at the very latest. EA Sports has not made any comment related to the World Cup since implying that a new game was being worked on during an investor call all the way back in January. The last four World Cup games have released on 4/15/14, 4/27/...

Every four years the traditional FIFA World Cup game from EA Sports is eagerly anticipated by fans across the globe. The game that represents the tournament has proven to not just be successful in terms of sales (in the millions of copies) but also by acting as an especially accessible product and a bridge for what has generally been a more casual crowd to the traditional FIFA series. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa was one of the best sports games of the last console generation and coincid...
