    Released in 2014 The Golf Club was among the first wave of sports games from independent developers that helped lead to the resurgence in the genre where sports (or unique takes on them) not being sufficiently covered by the big publishers are taken on by smaller studios.     With just three weeks until The Golf Club 2 releases another trailer has released to take a look at some of the new features for the game.     Despite the sequel to 2014's The Golf Club being just a month away from release there hasn't been much shown of the game besides it's enhanced Course Creator until now. A developer-held live stream put The Golf Club 2 on display and revealed new details relating to gameplay improvements and character customization.     Microsoft today launched Xbox Game Pass, a subscription service that includes unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and backwards compatible games. Xbox Game Pass is $10 a month and all those with Xbox Live Gold get to start with a free 14 day trial. The sports games available through the service at launch are NBA 2K16, The Golf Club, and Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings. 2K17 could get added in the months ahead.     Though announced nearly a year ago it wasn't until today that the sequel to 2014's The Golf Club got an official release date. The Golf Club 2 will go out Tuesday, June 27 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.     The Golf Club was one of the most pleasant sports gaming surprises of recent years, even managing to win the Community Award for Best New/Non-Yearly Game in 2014. The sequel from HB Studios will release this spring on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.     Released in 2014, The Golf Club is one of the recent successes from independent studios trying to reach a sports gaming audience. Though somewhat lacking in the overall feature set and absent any licenses the game was well-received for its realistic gameplay, impressive course creator, and admirable post-release support.
