Released in 2014, The Golf Club is one of the recent successes from independent studios trying to reach a sports gaming audience. Today developer HB Studios announced The Golf Club 2 to have a targeted release in early 2017, along with a debut trailer and feature expectations.  (more…)...

With fewer sports games than ever before there's an opening for independent developers to have success with creative unlicensed takes on different sports. Dangerous Golf is the latest to enter that space and it comes from the creators of the Burnout series, and borrows the concept behind its popular Crash Mode. Replacing cars with golf balls and hitting into destructive environments sounds like a recipe for success but unfortunately the fun wears off quickly. Whether it's frustrating te...

There's no better time to be a subscriber to the EA Access service on Xbox One than right now. The back library of titles in the EA Access Vault is always building but this is the point in the year in which nearly all of the relevant sports titles can be found through the service. With post-release support apparently wrapped up following the latest free DLC course Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will go into the Vault on May 10. Madden NFL 16 was added to the Vault in early February. NHL 16 went...

An update today to Rory McIlroy PGA Tour has introduced Oakmont Country Club to the game. It's the fourth and believed to be final course addition to the game. Introduced in 1903 by designer Henry Fownes, Oakmont Country Club has hosted more combined USGA and PGA championships than any other course in the United States. Oakmont remains perhaps the most difficult course in North America, with 210 deep bunkers (personified by the Church Pews), hard and slick greens that slope away from the p...

Today another patch went out for the game which added in turn-based stroke play for unranked online matches. Also included in the update are attribute changes to the roster of licensed golfers, some audio and course fixes for PGA West, and various camera fixes. The game...
