    The demo for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters is out now for the Xbox 360 (queue up the download here) and will be coming to the PS3 this afternoon. Featured in the demo are the first five holes at one of the new courses in the game (TPC San Antonio Oaks) which by completing will allow for the Amateur Tour in 'Road to the Masters' mode to be skipped.     The demo for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters is slated to arrive Tuesday March 8th for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. The news comes in an article from USA Today which also goes into further detail on what the demo will entail.     For the first time in the history of EA Sports' Tiger Woods series caddies will play an actual role in the game. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters will provide players with a caddy by their side on every swing to give strategic advice on shot selection and reading greens.     Yesterday marked the launch of EA Sports PGA Tour Golf Challenge on Facebook. Another in the line of free-to-play but microtransaction based games, Golf Challenge delivers advancement in the form of real-time 3D gameplay.     The free-to-play EA Sports PGA Tour Golf Challenge has gone live on Facebook. Unlike the other Facebook games from the company, PGA Tour offers real-time 3D gameplay rather than just being about strategy and simulations. Earning XP can lead to customizing and improving the character, new courses, clubs, and other items.     Along with the announcement yesterday of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters came two different trailers for the game.     After a year that saw sales decline massively it appears that EA Sports is putting a big effort into turning things around as today they officially announced Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters. For the first time in franchise history Augusta National and the Masters Tournament will be included.     Electronic Arts Chief Executive John Riccitiello recently spoke at the Reuters Global Media Summit and one topic of discussion was on Tiger Woods and his relationship with the company. Riccitiello revealed that there will be a Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 for the consoles but that Woods needs to perform better or risk the company looking at other options. (more...)...

    Late last week NPD released the official sales numbers for June. Tiger Woods 11 saw a huge drop-off from what Tiger 10 sold in its first month. Given the numbers that were on hand I estimated that it had fallen in the 40-50% range. It turns out that the situation was even more dire than anticipated. Sales actually dropped 68% year-over-year for all formats combined while the Wii version specifically fell an almost unbelievable 86%. It went from 272K to 38K. The main factor in the plummeting...
