The first trailer featuring actual game footage has been released for EA Sports MMA. I’ve also added 16 screenshots into the gallery which show off some of the fighters, arenas, and entrances. There is still no release date for the game but it is expected out in the October-December quarter and with the trailer stating “late 2010″ it most likely will fall in November. UFC Undisputed 2010 will be providing exclusive content in the PS3 version of the game. As of now these extras will not be available for the 360 even via downloadable content, though that could change down the line. The PS3 version will be receiving exclusive fighters as well as exclusive “Ultimate Fights”. Though these additions seem unlikely to change someone’s purchase from one version to the other they are notable enough to mention.

The “legends” (pictured above) who will be available only on the PS3 are Dan Severn, Jens Pulver, and Royce Gracie.  Severn and Gracie are no longer active in the UFC but are Hall of Famers.

While the 360 and PS3 will share the same base 15 “Ultimate Fights”, which provides an opportunity to recreate the great fights of the past, the PS3 will have an additional five.

• THQ has released a new blog for UFC Undisputed 2010 that covers submissions. They have also put out the first Q&A responding to questions submitted by the community.

• The pre-order bonus for UFC  Undisputed 2010 will offer a code to download four exclusive fighters. The first has been announced as James McSweeney. The other three, though not officially revealed, are expected to be fellow TUF 10 participants Roy Nelson (winner), Brendan Schaub (runner-up), and Marcus Jones. Gamestop is currently the only outlet that has this offer listed.

• A new fighter has been revealed for EA Sports MMA. Luke Rockhold has won six straight fights and currently has a 7-1 record. The announcement was made coming off his victory on Friday night at the “Strikeforce Challengers” show.

• SCEA has posted two more blogs for MLB 10: The Show. The first covers improvements made to Road to the Show mode, with IGN also providing a hands-on preview of RTTS. The other blog focuses on discussing and displaying some of the elements of the game that add to realism.

• The patch for the PC version of NBA 2K10, five months in the making, is apparently still in the works. The PC version has been stuck without a single patch, two of which already attempted to address some of the fundamental problems with NBA 2K10 on the consoles. PC gamers have been without any online functionality for the majority of the time since release.

• With the NFL combine underway and teams making other transactions I’ve already found myself tracing out changes to my initial mock draft. I will be posting a new one sometime next week.

THQ has released a new batch of screens for UFC 2010 Undisputed. There are six that feature Michael Bisping, Wanderlei Silva, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Denis Kang, and Gray Maynard in action. Check them out in the screenshot gallery.

Initial details on UFC Undisputed 2010 were dispersed through various media outlets, announcing the cover had gone to Brock Lesnar and leading off with some of the main new features and improvements. All the info came in the way of previews or interviews which are not always the easiest to digest.

TITLE AND TITLE DEFENSE MODES – Fight through one of UFC’s five official weight classes to earn and defend a championship belt in Title Mode. In Title Defense Mode, a fighter’s condition remains persistent, with milestone challenges built in along the way.

TOURNAMENT MODE – Explore up to 16-player individual and team tournaments within one system. Utilize UFC fighters or created fighters and select from arcade-style play with repeated fighter appearances or experience simulation play with fighter representation limited to one appearance.

ESPN has posted a new producer interview for UFC Undisputed 2010 that goes over the popularity of UFC 2009 and improvements to 2010. While there isn’t a great deal new revealed there is discussion over the signature moves and submissions, quadrupling of the number of strikes, sub-positions, and the concept of online fight camps. But now, with the advent of sways and leans, you can experiment with the timing, get in there, get underneath, then unleash these counter attacks that have greater damage depending on the risk that you take to execute the sway. It’s completely changed the game for the better. It still has that easy, pick-up-and-play aspect, but now you have this improved dynamic with the sways and the counters that just makes it unbelievably fun.

I’ll take this opportunity as the first time to mention that following up from the PFC league last year we’ll be running a league of sorts again for 2010. That may end up incorporating the online fight camps, either as one large fight camp or as a competition between camps. When more details are laid out we’ll evaluate the possibilities, make an announcement, and set things up in the forum.

Two significant names have been added to the EA Sports MMA roster. Dan Henderson and Frank Trigg have been confirmed and both have interesting angles to note. It has been public knowledge for months that Trigg would be in the game however what makes it interesting is he recently returned to UFC and is fighting this weekend. Henderson just left UFC and joined Strikeforce opening him up to sign with EA MMA.

Given the rumored roster for UFC 2010 includes Henderson there is the possibility he will be in both games or may end up being removed before UFC 2010 is released. Trigg on the other hand will join Randy Couture as the only two fighters in EA MMA that are currently fighting in UFC. Neither is expected to appear in UFC 2010.

Things finally appear to be gearing up for UFC Undisputed 2010. The trailer in early December and rumored roster is all that has made its way out until now. THQ has revealed that Brock Lesnar will be on the cover of UFC Undisputed 2010. In an interview with Gamespot this news and some details on the game were discussed.

This is somewhat surprising given that Lesnar has been out due to a serious illness for months. He does plan to be back this year though and is definitely one of the most mainstream recognizable names given his emergence in the WWE and his dominance since joining UFC.

Mentioned in the interview are aspects of UFC 2010 such as the introduction of a fight camp to career mode, adjustments to controls, changes to submission calculations, full cage support, three new fighter styles, and the addition of online fight camps. ESPN has posted up an interview with Bobby Lashley, the former WWE wrestler and now Strikeforce fighter. Lashley will be making his debut with the promotion on Saturday night and will included in EA Sports MMA. You can check out the full interview along with a couple new screenshots here.

The game’s roster continues to be filled out with announcements being linked to when the fighters are in action. Those on the card for Strikeforce Miami and newly confirmed for EA Sports MMA include Nick Diaz, Marius Zaromskis, Melvin Manhoef, and Joe Riggs. Hershel Walker apparently did not make the cut.

There has been absolutely nothing new on UFC 2010 Undisputed since the trailer was released over a month ago. However now the website Five Ounces of Pain has released a list of the fighters that are expected to make the game’s roster.

Some of the more notable names that will be new for 2010 include Kimbo Slice, Shane Carwin, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Jon Jones, Vitor Belfort, and Clay Guida. Continue on for the full list sorted by weight class and leave your thoughts in the comments!
