    Earlier this month EA Sports made a radical decision to turn back all the gameplay changes that had been made post-release in NHL 19, starting fresh from where the game began following its pre-release beta. After collecting consumer feedback for weeks based on that much earlier gameplay the developers have finalized adjustments that have been delivered through a tuner update that went live this morning.   • 10 hour trial for NHL 19 now available through EA Access on Xbox One

    NHL 19 can now be downloaded as a timed trial with EA Access on Xbox One. Subscribers to the service will get 10 hours of playtime after which it will expire. The timer is ticking down whenever the game is loaded regardless of whether it is being played, menus are being navigated through, or if there is any activity taking place at all. Because of that make sure to exit out and close the application from the Xbox One home screen when not in use. The 10 hours are there to play immediately ...
  • Major scouting improvements for NHL 19

    The first news on Franchise Mode for NHL 19 has arrived, with the focus at least for the initial reveal entirely on the scouting element of the mode. That'll now involve putting together teams of up to 20 scouts for the pro and amateur ranks, along with the option to hide some attributes that are only revealed by having actual scouts in attendance for players' games.  (more…)...
  • NHL 19 Open Beta Begins Today

    For the fourth straight year EA Sports is holding an open beta for the NHL series. What began with NHL 16 being limited to EASHL has since expanded to include several different modes and features. The beta for NHL 19 will begin today and run for a full week, through August 2nd.   • The focus on collision physics in NHL 19

    EA Sports laid out the features for NHL 19 a month ago now, including the debut of the Real Player Motion animation system, a 1v1v1 mode called NHL ONES, and outdoor rinks. Today the publisher offered additional details on work done to gameplay, specifically that of the improvements that have been made to the collision physics.  (more…)...

    EA Sports today unveiled NHL 19 during the NHL Awards broadcast and followed it up with additional details on features. While the game doesn't appear to be transitioning to the Frostbite Engine it will instead have outdoor rinks, Real Player Motion (all of the EA Sports titles this year feature the new animation technology), and NHL ONES (1v1v1) will join the NHL THREES arcade mode that debuted last year.     As expected NHL 19 will make it's first showing on Wednesday night during the NHL Awards which airs on NBCSN at 8ET/5PT. Included will be the cover athlete unveiling, first trailer, and pre-order details.     NHL 18 has today made its way into the EA Access Vault on Xbox One - just in time for the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. NHL 18 is now the third EA Sports game from 2017 to have reached the Vault joining Madden NFL 18 and NBA Live 18 available in full to all subscribers. EA Access is currently exclusive to Xbox One with Sony declining to offer the service on PS4 despite its remarkable value. EA executives have hinted that may change this year however.
