    One of the big new features for Franchise Mode in NHL 17 is team relocation. Be a GM will offer the opportunity to move a team to a new city and 19 of them have now been revealed. Cities vary in size of the market, fan engagement, stadium funding percentage, and interest in the team which will presumably play a role in whether relocation is accepted by the league.     The online beta for NHL 17 that began last week had been scheduled to come to an end today. Predictably though EA Sports has announced it'll continue through the weekend and come to a close at 10AM PT on Monday. The beta for NHL 16 was extended in the exact same manner. The extra weekend will provide additional opportunities to collect and act on feedback.     The online beta for NHL 17 is now up and running on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, one day earlier than had been originally scheduled. Emails have gone out to those who signed up for it when open from late June through mid-July containing codes for the 19.2 GB download.     The beta for NHL 17 is now just two days away and with Hockey Ultimate Team being one of the modes of play EA Sports has gone into greater detail on what to expect this year. HUT will replace "Chemistry" with a new "Synergy" system, introduces Dynamic Sets for rewards, and has improved item management.  (more…)...

    EA Sports has revealed expanded details on all the improvements that have been made to gameplay with NHL 17 and they're accompanied by a trailer that hits on many of the big points.     Along with the news on the cover and the first trailer EA Sports this evening announced an online beta for NHL 17 that'll run for a full week beginning at the end of July on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Last year there was the EASHL beta for NHL 16 and this time around with NHL 17 the beta will be offering up more to do.     This evening Vladimir Tarasenko was announced as the cover athlete for NHL 17 during the NHL Awards broadcast. The St. Louis Blues forward won the cover competition by beating out Joe Pavelski in the finals of the eight man fan-voted tournament.
