T.J. Lauerman of ThatSportsGamer (Twitter - Website) recently joined me to play through a Super Bowl XLVIII matchup in Madden NFL 25 on PS4. Check out the video below along with our discussion during the game which unfortunately had to be played in Denver given the inability to play online in a neutral stadium or with Super Bowl presentation. Later this week look for a Super Bowl preview podcast with myself, Rich Grisham, and Gus Ramsey of ESPN! var complextvadtag = (typeof(cmnvideotagde...

One of the selling points made at the original Xbox One reveal was the massive (around $400 million over five years) deal struck between Microsoft and the NFL. Little was discussed outside of Surface tablets being used on the sidelines of games, advertising elsewhere in stadiums, and Fantasy Football integration to be available on the One and 360. Today further details were revealed on what to expect going forward.  (more…)...

  • 2013 NFL League Year First Day Moves in Madden Screenshots

    Posted March 13th, 2013 at 11:30 am 7 Comments »
It's been a big 24 hours of free agency signings and trade announcements. While teams have somewhat reigned in the outrageous spending of year's past - there has been no Mario Williams type deal handed out - some of the most high profile names remain available. Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Jake Long, Wes Welker, and Greg Jennings are still out there. The Ravens had a rough day losing Dannell Ellerbe, who they had hope to re-sign, while letting go of Anquan Boldin and Paul Kruger. Combined w...
  • Seahawks Trade for Percy Harvin; 49ers Follow with Anquan Boldin

    Posted March 11th, 2013 at 12:15 pm 6 Comments »
Percy Harvin is on the move to the Seattle Seahawks. In exchange for their first round pick (#25), a seventh rounder, and a conditional fourth rounder in 2014 the dynamic offensive weapon is joining a team that clicked in all facets on offense in the second half of the season giving Russell Wilson another weapon at his disposal. The Minnesota Vikings are now barren at wide receiver so expect them to make moves there as free agency opens as well as in the draft. They now will have the 23rd an...
  • NBA Trade Deadline Passes With a Whimper
    by
    Posted February 21st, 2013 at 6:15 pm 5 Comments »
As is usually the case the swirl of rumors leading up to a trade deadline turned out to be far more entertaining to follow than the moves that would end up being made. The NBA trade deadline passed earlier today and, remembering that earlier in the season James Harden and Rudy Gay were both moved, J.J. Redick was the biggest name sent packing. Despite the lack of magnitude to the trades there were several made and a roster update for NBA 2K13 is expected to roll out on Friday. Names on th...
  • Addition of Josh Hamilton Makes Angels Formidable in MLB 13: The Show
    by
    Posted December 14th, 2012 at 5:45 pm 5 Comments »
Yesterday brought the surprise news of Josh Hamilton signing for 5 years and $125 million with the Los Angeles Angels. The team hadn't really been considered on the radar for Hamilton during the process and with the way things were shaking out as far as other deals it appeared likely he would return to the Texas Rangers. For the second year in a row the Angels claimed the top prize on the market and this time hurt a division foe as well.  (more…)...
  • NBA Selling 8-Bit Themed T-Shirts
    by
    Posted November 26th, 2012 at 5:30 pm 3 Comments »
Earlier today I stumbled upon some new t-shirts being sold by the NBA that leverage the retro nature of old school video games. Based on the wave of social media responses it's clear that there is great interest in these and I had to grab a couple myself! Additionally through the end of the day the NBA Store is offering 20% off orders by using code SLAMDUNK12. There are two different versions with one for teams and the other for individuals. The teams: 2012-13 Brooklyn Nets, 1999-00 Los A...

The Dwight Howard drama appears to finally be coming to an end as reports are that the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Denver Nuggets have agreed to a deal which the league will be reviewing Friday morning. The trade will land Howard in LA, Andre Iguodala in Denver, and Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson in Philly. • Knicks Let Jeremy Lin Leave to Rockets
    by
    Posted July 17th, 2012 at 6:45 pm 58 Comments »
It was an unprecedented run that Jeremy Lin turned in before a knee injury ended his season prematurely. Not only was his statistical output exceptional particularly considering his lack of experience but he hit some clutch shots along the way and was the sole catalyst for the resurgence of the Knicks. He became a media and fan sensation arguably exceeded in exposure level only by that of Tim Tebow. In Lin's case however most people were rooting for him rather than having the divisive split ...
