It's been a big 24 hours of free agency signings and trade announcements. While teams have somewhat reigned in the outrageous spending of year's past - there has been no Mario Williams type deal handed out - some of the most high profile names remain available. Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Jake Long, Wes Welker, and Greg Jennings are still out there. The Ravens had a rough day losing Dannell Ellerbe, who they had hope to re-sign, while letting go of Anquan Boldin and Paul Kruger. Combined w...

Percy Harvin is on the move to the Seattle Seahawks. In exchange for their first round pick (#25), a seventh rounder, and a conditional fourth rounder in 2014 the dynamic offensive weapon is joining a team that clicked in all facets on offense in the second half of the season giving Russell Wilson another weapon at his disposal. The Minnesota Vikings are now barren at wide receiver so expect them to make moves there as free agency opens as well as in the draft. They now will have the 23rd an...

As is usually the case the swirl of rumors leading up to a trade deadline turned out to be far more entertaining to follow than the moves that would end up being made. The NBA trade deadline passed earlier today and, remembering that earlier in the season James Harden and Rudy Gay were both moved, J.J. Redick was the biggest name sent packing. Despite the lack of magnitude to the trades there were several made and a roster update for NBA 2K13 is expected to roll out on Friday. Names on th...

Yesterday brought the surprise news of Josh Hamilton signing for 5 years and $125 million with the Los Angeles Angels. The team hadn't really been considered on the radar for Hamilton during the process and with the way things were shaking out as far as other deals it appeared likely he would return to the Texas Rangers. For the second year in a row the Angels claimed the top prize on the market and this time hurt a division foe as well.  (more…)...

Earlier today I stumbled upon some new t-shirts being sold by the NBA that leverage the retro nature of old school video games. Based on the wave of social media responses it's clear that there is great interest in these and I had to grab a couple myself! Additionally through the end of the day the NBA Store is offering 20% off orders by using code SLAMDUNK12. There are two different versions with one for teams and the other for individuals. The teams: 2012-13 Brooklyn Nets, 1999-00 Los A...

The trade will land Howard in LA, Andre Iguodala in Denver, and Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson in Philly. • Knicks Let Jeremy Lin Leave to Rockets

It was an unprecedented run that Jeremy Lin turned in before a knee injury ended his season prematurely. Not only was his statistical output exceptional particularly considering his lack of experience but he hit some clutch shots along the way and was the sole catalyst for the resurgence of the Knicks. He became a media and fan sensation arguably exceeded in exposure level only by that of Tim Tebow. In Lin's case however most people were rooting for him rather than having the divisive split ...
