With December comes a chance to reflect back on the biggest sports gaming stories of the year and their place within and effect on the industry.

Over the course of the month and possibly running into early January there will be the Pastapadre Community Choice Awards presented to vote on with the results later revealed, the run down of the top 10 sports games of the year with recaps of where they excelled or faltered, individual awards in categories that are worthy of their own recognition, and a review of the 2011′s important events that not only had an impact already but potentially carrying into the future.

I’m currently on my way to San Diego for this year’s Comic-Con! What that means for the site over the coming days:

Heavily dependent on the wifi and/or cell reception at the convention center new articles will be posted during the day covering any gaming news or developments per the usual to go along with the breaking entertainment news, screening reviews, and media from Comic-Con on the entertainment side. However there may be more in the way of lumping several articles in the late evenings and mornings from the comfort of the hotel room should any complications arise with doing so on location.

Tonight I’ll be at “Preview Night” likely roaming the convention floor. The event officially starts tomorrow and runs through Sunday. Follow along for news and observations from Comic-Con by following on Twitter, choosing to “like” on Facebook, and now adding to a circle on Google Plus - where I’ll be posting the majority of photos – and I’ll do the same in return.

The 2011 NCAA Tournament brackets have been released! Now sign-up for the Bracket Challenge at ESPN and join the group Pastapadre with the password madness.

The winner will get the 360/PS3/Wii game of their choice, which could be cashed in immediately following the tournament or held in reserve for a title that is released later in the year. In addition those who have “Liked” the site on Facebook will be eligible for a bonus prize. The second and third highest scores as well as one completely random entrant from those that have will get a $10 gift card to their choice of Amazon, Best Buy, or Gamestop.
