Early this morning I was fiddling around on Madden 08 on 360 and I noticed that in unranked online games, you are able to load a created team for your online game. When I saw this I got excited because there may be a way for you to play with custom rosters online with loaded create-a-teams. However, I realized that you get an automated roster of fictious players when you choose the type of team you wish to have. However, I went back into the create-a-team mode for kicks and I realized that there is a "fantasy team" option where you can pick from the entire NFL roster and unlocked HOF players to make the team roster of your choice! So those of you that are bummed about live opponent not being in 08, you are still able to in a way play custom roster games with NFL players online.

Here is the step-by-step way of doing it. Mind you each opponent has to make their own team seperately.

1. Go to Create-A-Team under My Madden
2. Click on Team Data
3. Click on Team Type Info
4. Scroll to Fantasy Team and click "A."
5. Pick the players you want on your roster.
6. Fiddle around with the uniform and stadium editors to get the team to how you want it.
7. Hit B twice and it will load the prompt of would you like to save changes.
8. Hit accept and save your team.
9. Go to online and "Create Session"
10. Make it unranked and set the guidelines to how you want it and invite your opponent
11. When in the team select screen hit the Y button to load your team from your hard drive or memory device.
12. Viola! You have your custom team online and ready to play.

Hopefully it will work out well and be somewhat of a consolation to not having Live Opponent in the 08 game.

lol they sure don't make it easy.

This will be like Live Opponent in 07. EA will look at it and say that no one played with custom rosters or created stadiums online with 08 so they're going to get rid of it. But really its cause they make it such a chore to do and no one even knows about it. Only the handful that read posts like this will be aware of it and take advantage of it.

It should be as simple as being able to load your own roster file for unranked games.

Well it looks like its going to work. I say "looks" because Fred and I got disconnected several consecutive times at or before kickoff. But we did get to see each others uniforms and stadiums. Thanks EA :)

Terror and I just tested out an all-custom team game online and IT WORKED, meaning we got through the whole game without being booted. I made an all-rookie team and played his UNFL team and we got through the game. It was laggy, but that could be because of them messing around with the servers, but at least we know it's feasible.

However
*Create-a-team names don't show up, they appear as "Home" and "Away"
*Player names on the opposing team don't show up and in the depth charts are like NCAA with "QB #12" and such. However, you are able to tell who the players are because their photo shows up. Go figure.
*The end of the game got hella slow and felt like NCAA 07 lag.

I thought everyone knew about this lol, good stuff though. I've created an All-Rookie and All-Legends team so far. You can create some wild stadiums but the first one I created was ridiculously bright for some reason and it made it unplayable.
