This morning, I sort of casually mentioned that Your Dallas Cowboys had come up with one of the worst ideas (http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/2008/12/behind_espnabc_sports_boss_jer.php) in the history of goodbyes: allowing fans to choose the last song ever played over the Texas Stadium public address system following the Ravens game. That's the ballot (http://www.farewelltotexasstadium.com/song.cfm) pictured above -- and, yes, those are the actual official choices. Well, as has been pointed out to me repeatedly this morning, the New York Mets did something similar (http://current.com/items/88895872/final_opening_day_at_shea_stadium_gets_rickrolled_ and_subsequently_booed.htm) for the final Opening Day game ever played at Shea Stadium earlier this year, only to get Rickrolled (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSsJ19sy3JI) in the process. Which is why teams should never, ever allow for the write-in vote for anything. Ever. Hence, this Farking movement (http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink=4083455&cpp=1) -- though, really, didn't Rick Astley's appearance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/3534073/Macys-Thanksgiving-Day-parade-Rick-Astley-performs-his-own-Rickroll.html) kind of put an end to this? --Robert Wilonsky (rwilonsky@dallasobserver.com)
