Why is it so bad?

It has to do with the demographic of people Madden is marketing towards. Very heavily rap/pop music goes over well with the younger crowd.

Just have to remember it is a video game at the core and that is how they market it

and the soundtrack is God awful too, I agree

I would say any song on the soundtrack could be considered the worst song I have ever heard.

While there are never any songs I have to rush onto my comp and download, I always really like the Madden soundtracks. It might help that I like both rap and rock. Favorite songs:

Brother Ali- Whatchu Got
Operator- Soul Crusher
Ozzy Osbourne- I Don't Wanna Stop
Pharoahe Monch feat. Showtyme- Desire
Pitbull feat. Don Omar- Fuego Remix
Red1 feat. Afu-Ra - Dem No Worry We
Shadows Fall- Redemption
Swizz Beatz- It's Me Snitches (this song is old now though, dumb putting it in)
The Bravery- Believe
Zion I & The Grouch- Hit'em

Most sports games these days have the same type of music, but this year's Madden is bad even by those standards. So its not even the type of music, but the lack of quality.

I shut off all the music except the Sam Spence, "NFL Films Remixes"......
That sh!t gets me in the NFL mood...

as much as I really like Shadows Fall they are pretty soft and poppy with their new cd

The song from them in Madden and the one from Guitar Hero 2 sound very similar. The Redemption song is funny though because when the guy screams and when he says "All the world will hear you" it sounds like 2 different songs.
