NCAA Football Presents:
The Tug-Of-Warnament
Overview:
Due to recent comment of future President Barack Obama, stating that he believes that college football instate a playoff to determine the National Champions, some of "the boys" got to talking and took Obama's idea and added idea's of their own. Prior to the 2008-2009 college football season, the NCAA will in fact have a tournament, but not to decide who the National Champion is, but a more fun-filled environment to decide who the best Tug-Of-War-er in the country is.

"I’m fed up with these computer rankings and this and that and the other. Get eight teams – the top eight teams right at the end."
The Rules:
32 teams will be chosen to compete; the preseason top 25 ranked, and 7 others voted by the 25 coaches. The teams will randomly be sorted into four brackets; each of which consist of eight teams, and will play in a traditional style tournament.
Starting from mid-field, each team takes turns running one play until someone scores. There are no special teams plays, so you have to get the ball into your opponent's end zone. Where the ball is placed after a team runs their play is where the ball will be placed for the next team. Turnovers will be spotted at the previous line of scrimmage unless the ball advances where the previous line of scrimmage was.

The Commentators
Even the commentators have been announced to give you pre and post game reports for every match-up. I'm not sure why, but they have selected two high school students named Cade Cool and Wade White, who seem to know nothing of college football; this should be interesting..

CADE AND WADE'S PRESEASON REPORT
Cade: Hello America and welcome to Cade and Wade's preseason report, one of the many reports we will present you in the next few weeks with the prestigious Tug-Of-Warnament. I'm Cade Cool, alongside me to co-report is Wade White.
Wade: Hello everybody, so glad to be here. Let's get right into it. Who do you think will win each bracket Cade?
Cade: Well, I'm not a big college football watcher, however, I'd have to say that bracket one is the weakest in the tournament by far, and I could see un-ranked Clemson winning it. Bracket two is very strong and I can see Virginia Tech coming out on top. As far as three, I think Boise State pulls the upset, and in bracket four, USC wins due to being USC. How about you Wade?
Wade: In one I've got Michigan hands down. For two I'd say the Florida Gators take the cake. Bracket three will be won by Florida State and West Virgina will open eyes in bracket four.
Cade: What will be the upset of the first round in each bracket?
Wade: In bracket one, Texas Tech will beat UCLA; in bracket two, Oregon beats Tennessee; in bracket three, Boise State beats LSU; and in bracket four, Miami beats Nebraska. What would you say?
Cade: In bracket one, Rutgers will beat Michigan; in bracket two, Virginia Tech beats Florida; in bracket three, Auburn beats Texas; and in bracket four, Penn State beats West Virginia. Lastly, who is in the championship, and who wins?'
Wade: I say Florida over West Virginia. You?
Cade: USC beats Virginia Tech.
Wade: That was the Cade and Wade preseason report. Tune in next as we cover the Texas Tech - UCLA pregame. I am Wade White-
Cade: -and I am Cade cool.
Both: And thanks for stopping by America!

RED RAIDERS ROUT BRUINS
In a not-so hard fought game by UCLA's Bruins, the Texas Tech Raiders wasted no time winning the game.
WR#20 caught a pass that put the Red Raiders on UCLA's two yard line on Texas Tech's third offensive play. UCLA tried getting some breathing room by running a sweep to HB#28, but SS#49 sniffed out the run, hurdled the block, and tackled the runningback in his own endzone for a safety.

lol, some good old Tug-of-War fun. Any chance of getting pics? Or maybe like a game summary. Example
TTU: 5 yards - ball on TTU 45
UCLA: 15 yards - ball on TTU 30
TTU: 29 yards - ball on UCLA 41
etc. That maybe a good way to summarize the tug-of-war games...?

TENNESSEE COMPLETES LONG BOMB - OREGON IN SHAMBLES
It started off like a normal tug-of-war. Oregon was progressively moving the ball further and further into Tennessee territory when disaster struck.
Oregon's defensive line played half-heartedly, giving Tennessee's quarterback #10 all the time he needed to throw a deep fade to #82. Oregon cornerback #9 took a bad jump on the ball and #82 caught it straight over him at the 10 yard line. #9 had the chance to redeem his blown coverage with a touchdown saving tackle, but he blew that too, sliding right of #82 as he slide right into the endzone.
Play by play:
Oregon: Incomplete pass - BALL ON 50
Tennessee: #10 sacked for 11 yards- BALL ON TEN 39
Oregon: 2 yard pass - BALL ON TEN 37
Tennessee: Incomplete pass - BALL ON TEN 37
Oregon: 4 yard run - BALL ON TEN 33
Tennessee: 25 yard pass - BALL ON ORE 42
Oregon: 16 yard pass - BALL ON TEN 48
Tennessee: 58 yard pass - TOUCHDOWN

Cade: Hello America and welcome to Cade and Wade's pregame report. I'm Cade Cool, alongside me to co-report is Wade White.
Wade: Hello, today's matchup should be a good one as the Longhorns of Texas travel to battle the Auburn Tigers.

Cade: Who do you think will win this?
Wade: I've learned my lesson and I'm going to say Texas.
Cade: For once I'll take the risk and say Auburn edges it out.
Wade: Since I just lost two hundred, you want to go double or nothing?
Cade: No thanks, I'll quit while I'm ahead.
Wade: YOU RAT BASTARD!

AUBURN PULLS THE UPSET
Nobody knows why Longhorn's QB #12 threw the interception. Maybe Auburn's home crowd was too much to handle. Maybe he overlooked the obvious cornerback ready to jump the route. Maybe he didn't want to go on in the Tug-Of-Warnament.
Whatever the case, he lost the game. Pressure from a great Auburn line pressed Texas QB #12 to make a decision on his feet; it just happened to be the wrong one. With LE #52 in his face, #12 threw a ball up for grabs, hoping that TE #86 would come down with it.
CB #22 had other things in mind, as he picked off an underthrown pass and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown.
Play by play:
Auburn: 0 yard run - BALL ON 50
Texas: Incomplete pass - BALL ON 50
Auburn: 5 yard run - BALL ON TEX 45
Texas: -1 yard pass - BALL ON TEX 44
Auburn: 10 yard pass - BALL ON TEX 34
Texas: Interception returned for a touchdown

IRISH DON'T PUT UP A FIGHT AS OKLAHOMA TAKES CARE OF BUSINESS
Things started bad and only got worse for the Fightin' Irish of Notre Dame. The Sooners opened up with a 14 yard pass. The Irish put it back near mid-field and the Sooners had a sweep gone wrong as they lost 7 yards. That's the only good luck Notre Dame would get, as the next Sooner play, a run play broke off for 21 yards, and Notre Dame could not fight them out of their territory.
Within a few plays, Oklahoma QB #15 connected with WR #9 for a hitch, but #9 was able to turn it upfield and gain 13 more yards and a touchdown.

Oklahoma: 14 yard pass - BALL ON ND 46
Notre Dame: 12 yard pass - BALL ON ND 48
Oklahoma: -7 yard run - BALL ON OKL 45
