Gm? You mean HC right lol
I never like Mangini yet i never hated him either, yet since he had a losing record as head coach, i guess he wasn't that good to begin with

Anyway, today is a wonderful day. The Fins are in the playoffs and the Jets are crashing and burning. Beautiful.

How do you think I feel. Yesterday morning, I didnt even think the Birds would be in the playoffs. Today, Im running down the street just wearing my Official MN Outsider Thong and an Eagles Santa Hat
Good times indeed

ha! Not a good visual, brother, but I know exactly what you mean...I will be heading to the mall to look for a Chad jersey and a 2008 AFC East Champs cap...I am loving life today lol.

Mangini just seems like too relaxed of a coach for Favre.
Even after 18 years in the league Favre needs a coach that will absolutely kick his ass to get him to play well. (i.e Holmgren and McCarthy) Mike Sherman did all right with Favre but given the players we still had from the Wolf/Holmgren era, we could have done a lot more if Favre were more disciplined during those years. The Sherman years are when he started to get a lot of special treatment that was somewhat taken away when Thompson and McCarthy came in.

I still don't agree with the firing, but that rests on the Favre situation. The front office basically put the stakes of this entire season on the shoulders of a 38 year old quarterback, a move that obviously didn't work. I'm not sure how much Mangini had to play in the trading for Favre.
Either way he's a decent coach.

lol i was hearing those same kinds of things when the Jets mortaged their future with the "gunslinger". Anyway, I doubt Cowher ends up in NY. Your owner seems clueless and your franchise is in shambles. He isn't stupid.
anyway, enjoy the "retirement" soap opera this off season.

When you bring in all of that talent and still fail to achieve a playoff berth, you're pretty much asking to be given your walking papers. The Jets gave up way too much to make any kind of run this year for it to fail.

says the guy who's squad was 1-15 last year? you should kno more than anyone what a tough, defensive-minded coach/gm could do. how quickly ppl forget...greg camarillo was the only thing that saved you from sharing history with the lions. how dare you lol.

I wouldn't say the Jets are in shambles. Lions, Raiders, Bengals, Rams, those are franchises in shambles.

plus, i didnt know that a team that JUST missed the playoffs was qualified to be in shambles. we arent great yet, but we're a good QB away from being perennial playoff contenders. chad was for us and obviously, neither is brett. we'll bounce back sooner than later
im still waiting for this team to get a consistent pass rusher in there 3-4 scheme
