I haven't even gotten to play the game really yet, but I'm putting in some serious time this weekend with it. With that being said, what playbooks are you guys using? I'm a run to set up the pass kind of guy, and I will start with the Dallas playbook. Has anyone used it? How is it? Also, how is the 3-4 this year? Can you finally get double-teams with the NT?

I've been using the Bengals playbook, alot of power running plays and enough outside running plays along with alot of shotgun formations.

In a couple games as the Chargers using the 3-4 I have been somewhat happy. The normal 3-4 doesn't have alot of play that I like so i use plays from the other like 5 versions of the 3-4. Also there is a way with the 3-4 to get Ware to play as a DE which is nice to change up pressures, don't know if that is new though. My only problem with the 3-4 is that it doesn't stop runs to the outside very well. Fast runningbacks are able to just run towards the middle then run sideways and get away from the big mash of people. The blitz's in the 3-4 work really good though, especially the ones with the OLBs.

Stay away from Seattle's playbook. No shotgun plays at all, and of course the time I used it I was getting blitzed all day by the Patriots. I lost the game because of it..

I love the Colts playbook but it's only good if you play with them (relies heavily on the O-Line leaving plenty of time for the QB to throw) so thats an avoidable one as well.

My favorite combination is Jags + Run Heavy. I was unstoppable with it last year never losing a game but this year I'm 2-2 with it. Still finding some good plays with it though.

Bates,

The Cowboy's PB isn't to bad. It has a great mix of both Run and Pass. Nothing to creative is in the book, most the same plays from years past. They have the full house formation as well.

The 3-4 is nice. Alot of choices out of that. Even, Load, Stack, Odd, .. couple more also. I like.. It brings alot of blitz from every angle.. and Ware is just a beast, and surprisingly.. so is Bradie and Greg.

I've been using Run N Gun on offense so far. Much more balance than you'd expect, but it is still a bit on the pass side. But there are still a few 2 RB or 2 TE sets to run out of like Full House and all variations of the I.

3-4 has been nice so far. I've been using it with the Niners with pretty good success, so you should be good with the Cowboys front 7. The blitzes are nice, and you can get some good heat with some LB shifting. Its been much better against the run this year and it also has the Stack formation that sets up like 4-3 which is pretty good against the run. I usually stay away from Normal as that seems to be the worst one IMO.

I'm very familiar with the Seahawks book, in some ways I think that started to hamper my offense. Plus the lack of at least one shotgun formation becomes tough to deal with against teams that get quick pressure.

So I've started my search for a new one, and wanted to stick with the West Coast Offense style I'm accustomed to. I tried Tampa and Philadelphia, and so far I'm leaning towards Philly.

On defense I stick with the 4-3.

Yeah Cleveland's offensive playbook has always been ultra-conservative and lacked variety, but I've been using it for so long I have it memorized that it's hard to shy away from it...but I do really need to find a new one. Either that or I stop using the Browns...it's almost impossible to win with them unless you make absolutely zero mistakes. Sometimes even that's not enough.

3-4 and Patriots defensive playbooks are very nice but the ravens D playbook blows big time

On offense the Colts, Saints, and Broncos have really nice sets with a ton of team specific plays in them.

I'm a fan of the Saints playbook this year. Plenty of Shotgun, Singleback, and some good playaction plays. Lots of cool screens too. It has the kind of variety I like.

I'm using the Falcons PB they have some speed options and plenty of plays for the HB receiving out the back field. On defense I'm using the 46 it has a ton of blitzes as well as some 34 and 43 sets.

I used the Multiple D playbook, and on Offense I use Run N Gun.
