EA has just issued a press release stating that Black Box’s Skate 2 demo will be released on PSN on January 15th.
The release confirmed that 360 owners can download the demo as of tomorrow morning.
Skate 2 will be released on January 21 in the US and worldwide on the 23rd.
Full release after the break.

Nice indeed, guess I will have to download both to see what system to get it on. Last year I got Skate on the 360 and with the offsetting analogs the game was lovely. I hope the controls on the Ps3 are just as good cause I wanna get more time in online.

Just started downloading the demo. I'm really excited about this game. Skate was probably my favorite game ever. Not that I am big about skateboarding, but it's a game I could just play forever.

Yeah I wish I could play it...stupid M$ and their demo delay to people with Silver accounts. Thats just basically telling me to buy the game for the Ps3 now.

I loved the first Skate, made a ton of videos.
I like the demo from S2, though I'm really disappointed there are no flatland tricks. And the camera seems way more zoomed in than it was in the first game and that kind of sucks, but there's supposed to be an option in the full game to pull back a bit.
Character creation is a lot better this time around too, I'm really liking that. Game looks a lot smoother with the new frame rate. I need to check out the soundtrack and see if I'm going to need to keep my Ipod plugged up to the Xbox.

I love the feel of this. Gameplay feels so smooth. My only complaint thus far is that the demo is timed, but if you do the challenges quick you are left with about 9 mins to just skate around, so that isn't too bad. I'll be picking this game up for sure.

That vid is sick Sham, really liked the little sequence pulled off around the 1:20 mark. Damn I can't wait to try out this demo and eventually buy this game.

So today I've really got to spend some more time with the demo, the past few days I haven't.
Shit, adding in plants and a huge amount of grabs this time has really opened up a lot of stuff. I spent a whole demo experimenting with nothing but footplants and I know there's a ton of shit I'll be able to do with these things. Now onto more stuff.

It looks like the 'installation saga' persists into 2009. Skate 2 (http://www.ps3fanboy.com/tag/skate-2), which is due for release next week in both North America and Europe, will feature a 2GB install. It's not certain whether it's mandatory or optional, but MTV Multiplayer (http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/01/12/skate-2-ps3-requires-2gb-of-harddrive-space/) suggests you should clear up some space nonetheless -- that is if you've been eyeing more time on the digital half-pipe. A demo for the game is said to appear on the store update this week, so perhaps if you've got space for a demo ... you've got space for the install.
