Looks like he'll break the record any day now. Another reason why baseball is what it is today.

While he likely did take steriods, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt until something concrete comes out against him. He's never failed a drug test and I, unlike most, do think its very possible to add the weight he did in a natural way. I mean hell I've added 10 pounds in less than a month before just by lifting and eating right. So for someone like Bonds to add weight like he did with the resources he has at his disposal isn't as far fetched as most people think.
But baseball brought this on itself. When the majority of all these players accused of taking steroids supposedly took them, MLB didn't even have rules against it. So what did they expect? Not saying that's an excuse for Bonds by any means, but I think people are eager to pin it on Bonds without any evidence because most people already hate him because of how he is with the media and all that stuff.

I kinda fell in between two of the options.
Steroids aren't hitting the homeruns for him, but it certainly would've helped with recovery from injuries and how fresh he would feel from game to game providing him more opportunity.
I don't feel upset about the whole thing, but I also don't feel excited about the record being broken. Kinda apathetic to the whole thing.

Right now I'm mad that I missed it, as I have watched every other game leading up this point for 755 and 756. I missed 755 because FSN failed to mention it during the Mariner boradcast, so I missed the at bat, as I was flipping between the two to see if Bonds was up. Missed 756 because I was finishing a book and forgot about the game. Oh well, will have to wait for Pujols to break the record in 15 years.
The record is cheapened for me, as it has always been the magical "755". I am one of the fans who is certain that Bonds used steroids and was a major factor in him getting to 756. Nobody increases their power numbers when they get older, yet Bonds got stronger and hit for more power then ever before, way past his prime years. He was a tremendous player, but without steroids he would still be in the low 600's imo. I can still remember like it was yesterday when Bonds hit his 500th home run (when that meant something). When he got to 500 it was cool, but was anyone even thinking he could pass Aaron at that time? No, he was old already and his skills should decline.
For me, Aaron will always be the champion. I will never remember the announcer's call when Bonds hit 756. However..
"There's a new home run champion, and his name is Henry Aaron!"
Will be with me for the rest of my life. Congrats to Barry, but I'm in Hank's corner.
100 years from now, nobody would care.
he's a douchebag racist. he still was good for most of his career before he started taking roids and his head turned into a figure 8 shape. you still have to have some skill to do what he's done. the HRs aren't what even impress me. i was impressed before the 70+ hr year and the record.

If it wasnt for roids baseball would be dead right now. I think the fans and all these reporters who crack on Bonds (alone it seems) should thank god that they still have their jobs covering baseball thanks to roids.
Before McGwire and Sosa used and abused their roids, baseball was about to be on the level of soccer. Thanks to the roids and players hitting homeruns like nothing. It brought people back to baseball . Now that baseball is probably as high as it can be all the sudden people want to talk roids LMAO.
What they didnt notice it back when Sosa and big Mac were hitting bombs away. Or how bout when 2 average players in Ken Camanetti and Jason Giambi go from 20 to like 50 homeruns in 1 seasons differnce. C'Mon now!!! The eveidence was always there but it was bringing baseball back to they blindly looked away.
Now they wanna make it a big topic. Personally I say let them keep taking steriods because people come to see homeruns not soccer games scores.

I think that using steroids doesn't make you a baseball god, you have to have alot of talent, the hand eye coordination is where it's at, and if you ask me steroids and no steroids probably wouldn't make a whole lot of difference, due to how fast his swing is, all it could do is make hr's that barely get over no doubters.
