I've found over the course of the league that I talk to some of the people involved in the league more than some of my friends/family. We are lucky and have a pretty good group of players here.
Basically, I was just wondering what are some other games everyone here plays? I think that if we can keep a strong base of owners together through Madden and maybe even other titles, we may have a better foundation for Madden leagues or maybe even NBA, NCAA, MLB, FIFA leagues if sports is your thing. Or maybe even a good group of people for other online games like Uncharted 2, MAG, Modern Warfare 2, Killzone 2.
Just wanted to keep building a relationship between all of the owners in The Gridiron.

Really? MW2 looks great to me. I played until prestige 3 on MW1 but spent a very long time on 1st and 3rd.
I buy pretty much every sports game and a lot of shooters. I generally stick to EA on the sports games.

I will definitely be getting Modern Warfare and Fifa. I am a big fan of Bioware games as well, KOTOR, Jade Empire, etc. I will be getting their new nerdfest of a medieval game.

Now that I have a job I'll have some money in my pocket for a Tv to put in my room so that I can play without being under the eye of my dad. So many games I need to play. My first order of business will be to finally beat MGS4.

So, what is MW2? I've never heard of it. I played Fight Night Round 4 quite a bit when it came out a couple months ago. I picked up NBA2K10 this week, but I haven't played it too much. I've messed with some sliders and played my brother a couple times, but 2K9 was way more fun at the time.
From everything I've read, Live took a huge step forward this year while the 2K series made minor tweaks to 2K9. Supposedly online play is much better on Live. I've really thought about picking up Fifa after learning it's the fastest selling video game of all-time. I'm personally not a huge soccer fan, but video games can be more fun that the real sport.
I'm also a Starcraft/Broodwar player and am eagerly awaiting Starcraft 2, but I know that'll be another year.
And I really need to continue MGS4 as well. I always play that from time to time but never had that burning desire to play it all the way through.

I have Uncharted 2 waiting for me at home right now as well as NBA2k10. I plan on picking up FIFA after pay day in two weeks.
Madden may be taking a backseat with Uncharted at home. I plan on playing when it's a little bit darker so my TV and all of it's glory is accentuated.
Anybody else rolling with Uncharted 2? We can get some online play in sometime.

Mavs are my team since I lived in Dallas in 99 - 02, and played with the Dallas Sidekicks when we used to train at the Dallas Athletic Club ... we had some good pickup basketball games against Leon Lett (dude is nice in ball), Thomas Everett ( he's like a miniature jordan with the fadeaway jumper and all), Dirk (when he was still just a gangly german kid hanging out in lower greenville, Nash - an amazing soccer player who came to a couple of our games, and the old Michael Finley who was the shit) but mostly against the first 2 cowboys (hate the team) and some their then rookies ....
I think I'm going to pick 2k10 tonight or manana ... and uncharted 2 as welll.... but I'm really waiting on FIFA10, and I'm alittle pissed they pushed the release date back a week, when Europe has had it released for almost 2 weeks now....

As much as I hate the cowboys and await the crashing and burning of that idiotic jumbotron (just like Jerry - all glitz no sense) .... I would pick Romo over Jason Campbell as a QB for my team .... getting a little sick of the deer in the headlights look from him .... At some point you have to show significant progression in your development as a QB .... Sanchez in just 5 games has shown more improvement and kahunas than Campbell in however he's been our QB now ... I curse the day we didn't get Mark ....
i would pick Romo over 75% of the Qbs in the league.. people are stupid.
Alot of Dallas fans are the worst.. as soon as they lose the sky is falling and its everyones fault. fickle.
I do know that its not romos fault.. The coaching is what needs a shake up.

I'm in the same boat. I really cant' decide which system will get my MW2 purchase. If enough people on here rock it on PS3, then I'll go that route.

I don't know what it is .... RPG's and war games just never sustained it for me ... the closest I'll get to RPGs is GTA and Uncharted .... the war stuff I just never grew a liking to . Granted I haven't played one in a long time and the games have really evolved with the technology , so who knows ...... But between Madden, Fifa, and Uncharted this year and NBA2K10.... don't know where I will find time to juggle all of it .....

That's my biggest issue, juggling of game time. Just yesterday I picked up Uncharted 2, NBA 2k10 and Fallout 3 GOTY......plus the Madden that I will still be playing.
I think the only solution involves 1.21jiggawatts and 88mph.

Yeah my dude..i was the same way..only rpg's/shooting games i played was GTA and like final fantasy when i was reallllll young...but i saw everyone i knew getting COD WAW so i copped that jawn..didnt think i was gonna like it, but i fuckin loved that game fam. trust me, u will like COD.
as far as uncharted..idk..i heard mad hype about it so i was gonna get uncharted 2 but i didnt really like the demo. Dont know if its my style. i will probably borrow it from someone in my dorm and if i like it..ill buy it..lol, or just keep the one they let me borrow

MW was a game that I bought because all of my friends were playing it. It's certainly not a bad game. I feel it caters to the casual FPS player more which allows for a more balanced game.
I still can't decide on MW2.....I'll probably decide based on who I know that gets it.

I will probably make myself a PG. So it looks like we need a SF and PF. Ndjansy said he would probably make himself a SF when he picks the game up so we just need a PF.

i was 42nd in world in total points gained in draft combine! im almost done wit summer league had to start over cuz clone glitch, if u dont know what it is and u got draft combine, u better look into it
my virtual pro on fifa is getting decent.. 75ovr i think.. i suck tho.. but its fun.

I've been playing the demo with my brother and he's been beating me but he definitely has more FIFA experience than I do. We plan on playing in a franchise together....

The demo has held me over for the most part. Still want the game though.
yeah ive never played fifa before, so im bad.. but its enjoyable.
the virtual pro (create a dude) mode in it, is probably the best/my favourite of any sports game ive played.. the accomplishments system kinda adds a story mode feel to it.

I can never get into those types of games. MGS4 is freaking awesome, and I still won't put in the time required to finish the game...
Hah once i started MGS4, you woulda needed something pretty strong to force me off the controller.. Loved it. In my top 5 ever.

Yeah, it's really fun and yet I still can't get myself to finish the game. Maybe I'll start it again. I can't even remember how many hours I am into the game....

I haven't messed with the My Player mode yet. Just enjoying Exhibition games with my brother right now. The shooting is really hard to get used to. I finally learned how to do the chip shot (L1+ cirlce) to lob it over the goal keeper when he's rushing you. I have a hard time scoring unless I make a good pass or cross to a teammate and then immediately shoot / header OR if I'm able to follow my own shot that the goal keeper deflects back to me that I put in.
Anybody have any pointers on beating the keeper 1 on 1? I've used the finesse shot some as well, but the circle button is INSANELY sensitive. If you press it more than half a second, the ball goes WAY over the goal.

I'm thinking he has just fallen off. WR seem to fall off pretty quickly IMO. Doesn't help that Edwards isn't Romo, McNabb.....or Garcia for that matter.
My dude plays for wolverhampton.. they had the coolest logo in the barclays.
Its like a transformers logo styled wolf.. sick.
As far as beating the keeper one on one.. Your acc is decreased if you shoot while sprinting.. or moving at all. so if you can.. stop, pull a little skill move to the outside and shoot across the keeper. its not easy to score tho coz it isnt supposed to be.. I find finesse shots are harder coz the stick affects the curve and things.. its too much to think about in a short windows of time haha.. and i can NEVER do headers.. :(
i play on semi pro, its made me get better faster than if i was on beginner too. My dude is hard to score with seeing as they only start off at like 67ovr. But ive got about 25 career goals. Just got called up to England. :)

i play on semi pro, its made me get better faster than if i was on beginner too. My dude is hard to score with seeing as they only start off at like 67ovr. But ive got about 25 career goals. Just got called up to England. :)
Interesting, I'll have to try that. Kinda like RB's on Madden. All the moves work better when you aren't sprinting...

Yeah, my guy isn't great either. He's a 70 OVR. I put him on my KC Wizards though....so he is already one of their best players.
I made him a midfielder.

I had to change my team's formation to make it more offensive but he's a striker, forward, whatever you want to call it. Don't think I would have had too much fun if my guy doesn't have a couple chances to score every game :)
I think my guy is still 69 or 70 as well.

I don't know where all my time has been going recently. I haven't played much FIFA or Madden this week. I did play my friend a couple times on Thursday, and I should be playing some FIFA or Madden later tonight (after 11 PM CT).

I'm assuming you're getting Windows 7? Since I could not wait, I got Windows 7 at midnight the night it came out. I absolutely hated Vista with a passion. Had to be one of the worst operating systems they ever put out (along with Millenium). What were they thinking?

My club is like 65-50 all time now, we got 9 guys in it, but only 3 to 4 of us play normally. Also you can only be on one club. You can also transfer to another club if your no happy with your current club. My player is like an 82 overall. Mr. Hales dude is like an 86 and is wicked fast. Hale leads the team with 102 goals in about 70 games.
