Lions 38 Vikings 14
This game was taken over by the Lions very early. The opening drive was a 3 and out for the Vikings followed by a nice long drive by the Lions for a opening TD run by L. White. The Vikings would struggle all first half to get and offense going having to punt 2 more times both of which were answered by Lions TD passes, one to D. Northcutt and the other to C. Johnson. The Vikings did get a nice drive before half that ended in a TD pass to make it 21-7 at halftime. The third quarter started with the Lions going down the field ending in another TD pass this one to D. Brown the Vikings answered quickly with a TD pass of there own though to make in a 14 point game at the end of the 3rd. The Lions put this one away though with another TD pass to C. Johnson and a FG on there final drive. The Lions never punted once in this game and only didnt come away with points at the the end of the first half when the clock ran out. There were no turnovers in this game, but a lot of big hits most came from the Lions B. Sanders and L. White.

Packers vs. Cowboys -- 35-21
Packers beat the new owner with the Cowboys in week 9. It was competitive and sloppy throughout the entire game. Five combined interceptions were thrown during the game, with two combined fumbles. One interception was returned for 99 yards by Orlando Scandrick on the last play of the half to put the Cowboys up by 7. The score going into half-time was 14-21. That would be the last score the Cowboys would put up the rest of the game.
The Packers dominated the second half by scoring 21 points and improving their home record to 4-1. Cowboys looked to be on a scoring drive before accepting an interference call when the ball was uncatchable, but Brett Favre threw one of his two interceptions a few throws later to Charles Woodson in the red zone.
Player of the game went to Matt Ryan's favorite target, James Jones (WR) for having eight receptions for 166 yards and one touchdown. The Packers look to stretch their win streak and jump up in the standings next week against the San Francisco 49ers at home.

Redskins have beaten the Broncos 16-9. This was a very good game and an INT at the goaline was a big reason I was able to pull it out. Speed's a very good player and I see him doing well.

Bengals 7 -Steelers 41
The Steelers came into the week with some question marks after being taken over by a new owner. However, on the first play of regulation Mike Wallace returned the kickoff 103 yards to get rid of any nerves the team might have had. The game would be all Steelers from there as Troy Polamalu took over on defense intercepting a pass and forcing a fumble that would lead to 10 points and a 17-0 lead for the Steelers. The real story of this game though was the play of Rashard Mendenhall who helped the Steelers expand their lead to 27 with a touchdown at the end of half. Mendenhall would finish with an impressive 134 yards and 3 TD's on 21 carries. The Bengals would tack on a TD late, but by that point that game was in hand.
It was an important win for the Steelers as they needed to win in order to keep pressure on the rest of the division. Reporters caught up to Coach Tomlin after the game and he had this to say "I really liked what I saw out there today. Our offense was balanced and most importantly we had no turnovers. Hopefully now we've earned some respect and can keep up the good play next week at Kansas City".
STATS:
Ben Roethlisberger 17/21 193 yards 1 TD
Carson Palmer 18/24 205 yards 1 TD 1 INT
Rashard Mendenhall 21 attempts 134 yards 3 TDs 1 catch 8 yards
Bernard Scott 9 attempts, 32 yards 5 catches 31 yards
Heath Miller 4 catches 46 yards 1 TD
Chad Ochocinqo 4 catches 77 yards 1 TD
Troy Polamalu 3 tackles 1 INT 1 FFumb
Antwan Odom 3 tackles 1 sack

Three pick sixes by the Ravens D. Who needs an offense? And Ed Reed who? Sorry man, I don't mean to be harsh. Quicksand. Ever seen the movie Replacements? Quicksand. Good game, and it will be interesting with you and me fighting it out for second behind the steel curtain. Good Luck the rest of the way.

Game Recap courtesy of the Indianapolis Star
Colts 38
Patriots 23
Indianapolis, IN The Indianapolis Colts were trying to do something that they haven't done yet this season put a winning streak together; their other opportunity fell short vs the 49ers 24-17. It would not be easy since the opponent, the Patriots, are one of the tougher teams in the VNFL and have delivered so much heartbreak to this franchise over the years. The Colts would get it done this time around led by Steve Smith. The media has been hard on Steve Smith since arriving in Indianapolis with high expectations, up until last nights game vs the Patriots Smith has been a dissapointment. The game started with the Patriots driving down the field for a 38 yard Stephen Gostkowski field goal and a 3-0 Patriots lead. The Colts would answer back with a 63 yard touchdown reception by Steve Smith, finally showing his big play explosiveness, and giving the Colts a 7-3 lead. In the second quarter Marshawn Lynch began to show some life scoring two touchdowns: 6 yard and 17 yard runs. The Patriots would add a touchdown on a 2 yard Joey Galloway touchdown reception from Tom Brady making the score 21-10 Colts at the half. The second half began with Steve Smith scoring again on a 66 yard touchdown reception from Peyton Manning giving the Colts a 28-10 lead. The Patriots would answer right back with a 16 yard touchdwon reception by Ben Watson from Tom Brady making the score 28-17 Colts. In the fourth quarter Marshawn Lynch scored his third touchdown of the game and his 6th touchdown in the last two games. Adam Vinatieri kicked a 34 yard field goal to close out the scoring for Indianapolis. The Patriots would add another touchdown a 49 yard Randy Moss touchdown reception to make the final score Colts 38 Patriots 23. The win improved Indianapolis to 3-6 and gave the Colts their second home win and first win streak of the season.

Wow man. I can't believe how bad that game went for me. When I would try and lob it my QBs would bullet it, when I would try and bullet it they would lob it. Your defense was catching everything. My defense was literally letting the ball go through their helmets. I'm not sure if I lost that game as much as the game lost it for me. Nothing would go right for me, and you got every break imaginable.

Bills 13 - Titans 41
This game shows how horrible my team really is so far this season. Nothing really special happened. Berrian returned 2 kickoffs after my team failed to tackle him multiple times. I came into the game pretty much knowing Azure would try to get CJ to the outside,I kept him to minimal gains, but he managed to eventually run into another pack of Bills players who can't tackle, breaking lose for a 70 yard TD. T.Choice had the same day against my D and ran for over 100 yards as well. Azure played a good game mixing it up and making plays and really didn't have to do much the way things were going. He played decent defense with my oline struggling as usual to give me enough time to throw a pass farther than 15 yards down the field, blitz or not. :shakehead:
I'm honestly to the point to just call it quits over this team, I think I'm the only person that got put into one of the worst teams in the league who didn't choose to be there. I don't mind losing but when it comes down to simple tackling that costs me every time, its just stupid.

LMFAOOO THATS FUNNY. i know how you feel. thats why i got rid of my offensive players for defense. i have patience with a garbage offense. but i cant stand having a trash defense that cant tackle. With a good defense you can always feel like your still in the game. i definitly know how you feel. trash quarterbacks are no fun :(

Dude, u r 4 and 4 right? And you wanna quit? seriously? The bengals were 0 and 7 when he played me last week and he got his first W in a damn good game. Yet I never here him complaining about his record. You are in good shape man, and if you can't handle middle of the road, you would have left already as the bengals right? Don't sweat it, I have a feeling you will be in the playoff picture at the end, you just might not win out till then, ya know?

I don't care about my record, my team is horrible and I got stuck with them just to get in. The Bengals guy got to pick his team he thought he could play his best with, there was a reason I got left with the Bills.
My point is that I'm stuck with a team that does horrible based of AI skill. I can't do anything about missing tackles or my oline so bad I can't throw to my WR's half the time. Theres a reason why I traded off T.O AND L.Evans, no point to have WR's you can't get the ball.
It's like going somewhere, riding go carts, and you get the one that's been there since the place opened in 1976 and THEY BOUGHT IT USED then, barely runs while everyone else laps you and has a good time. That's how playing with the Bills feels like, try it sometime.
Like Dom said I can MANAGE with a crappy O, but I'm tired of getting scored on based on the fact my team can't tackle.
Anyways, lets fill up this thread with nonsense

Keep your chin up bud. I for one am in this league for the long haul. There is going to be a lot of opportunity via draft and the free agency for next year. Hell, i was 0-4 and i traded away my best player for draft picks and younger talent so i could build for the future. I know it can be frustrating when you lose, but judging by the games i've seen and the overall stats you just played what looks like the best player in the league with a damn solid team. Don't get discouraged, your a great person to have in the community with your predictions and POTW posts. When i was 0-4 i actually was excited in seeing what things i could do via trades etc to try and build up my team for the future, thats where i had to draw fun for the time being out of the league.
EDIT: Also, if i remember correctly the Bills have a lot of solid young talent with A potential. Edwards i think will improve, but like i said i remember that roster having some A potential youngsters sitting around the 70s this year that im sure will improve over the next year or 2. Play your cards right and build up the team to your style by trading for or drafting the slots that you want.
EDITx2: You do know that right now you hold the 6th Playoff spot currently right? Your the sixth best team in the AFC lol. With MMorgan losing this week your right on the heels of the number 5 spot too. I'm actually unbelievably greatful for the players we have with the losing records. Honestly, thats a hell of a show of character for those owners, and i immensely appreciate it.

Carolina 35 Falcons 14
This division matchup looked like it was going to be ugly with the Panthers trading away Steve Smith since their first meeting and the Falcons getting Roddy White back who was injured during their last clash.
The X-Factor in this game looked to be the weather. With the heavy downpour of rain it seemed it might limit the potent Falcons aerial attack.
Carolina took the opening drive and marched down the field lead by DeAngelo Williams and the solid O-Line. It seemed like they would be held to 3 points but on 3rd down John Abraham met Williams in the backfield but was unable to bring him down and Williams tumbled into the endzone for 6.
This game looked to be a good one with a heavy load of Michael Turner and the newly aquired Aaron Rodgers marching meticulously down the field. Punishing the Panthers with a number 7 being thrown up on the scoredboard to tie the game.
In John Fox's presser this week he spoke of turnovers, "We can't make mistakes against this team, if you don't bring your A game it can get real ugly". Well Jonathon Stewart didnt take heed of his coaches words ending a solid march of offense at the falcons 19 by fumbling the ball after a 12 yard scamper. However the Falcons would make their own mistakes in this game tossing a pick several plays later and allowing the Panthers to put up another TD making it 14-7.
The game would be fierce with each team battling back and forth but the play of the game was late in the 4th quarter, 20-14, with Aaron Rodgers appearing to be possessed by Joe Montana again gashing the Panthers on a long critical 4th quarter comeback drive. Tony Gonzalez coughed up the ball and it was scooped up and returned into Falcon territory. After a few big plays by the Panthers offense and an INT by Rodgers the game was out of reach, 35-14. The score however not a proper representation as to how close this game truely was.

Arizona 31
Seattle 24
This was quite a strange game out in the desert. There were times when no one could score, and other times there was an onslaught of offense. On the first series - I want to say it was the second play - Larry Fitzgerald was hit hard and dropped the ball in the open field. I thought I was gonna take it back for six, but instead my guy booted it and Arizona recovered. They would later score on the drive.
On the next kickoff, Nate Burleson took it 106 yards for a TD to tie the game. However, the Cardinals returned the favor by also scoring on the next kickoff.
Fast forwarding to the 4th quarter, it was Arizona 31, Seattle 24 with about 2 minutes left. Matt Hasselbeck threw a short pass to Deon Butler that he took about 70 yards, all the way to the 2-yard line. Seattle would have been in perfect position to tie this thing up, but the play was called back by a holding penalty on Deon Branch. So instead of 1st and goal, it was 1st and 20 on Seattle's own 15 and they would end up turning it over on downs.
While this has troubled me for a number of days, and I think the game would have been different without that penalty, I don't want to take away from the game the Cardinals played. They were sharp on defense the whole day and we all know how stacked they are in the passing game. It wouldn't be a surprise to see them as a strong contender in what is now a very tight NFC West.
[I don't have the stats cuz the OF website is down now but I'll see if I can get them on here later.]
