Packers @ Lions -- 56-52

Packers played the Detriot Lions on Thanksgiving day and both teams would fight it out to the end. The Packers and Lions threw out an offensive battle to the final seconds of the game.

The Packers game out of the gate with a one-dimension gameplan, let Darren Sproles do the work. After the last meeting of these two teams, the Packers knew they needed to score as many points as possible to make the Lions throw the ball. The second play of the game, Sproles took a screen play to the house for a 74-yard touchdown. The Packers' defense would stop the Lions in 4 plays to make them punt. Matt Ryan hooked up with Greg Jennings twice on the next drive for 57 yards and a touchdown.

Then the Lions showed up. They returned a kick return with Figurs for 107-yard touchdown. Then on the kickoff Blackmon, cornerback, fumbled and the Lions returned it for a touchdown. 14-14 was the score at the end of the first. Darren Sproles was again hit for a 72-yard pass on another screen for a touchdown in the 2nd. The Lions scored 17 points in the 2nd quarter, hooking up with Calvin Johnson in the final 3 seconds of the half. The Lions would lead 31-21 going into the half.

Early on into the 3rd quarter, Sproles rushed the ball for a 32-yard touchdown on a toss play. James Jones, Packers' leading receptioner, would hook up for his first of two touchdowns during the game. At the end of the 3rd, the Lions were still in control 38-35.

The fourth quarter was another game of itself. The two teams would rack up 35 points in the final quarter. The Packers would score from a 98-yard return from Sproles on a kickoff and a 15-yard rushing touchdown. The Lions would be up 52-49 going into the final drive after scoring with LenDale White with 1:42 remaining in the game. The Packers' would quickly get down field to get within field goal range in two plays. With two timeouts left, they were able to hook up with Jones for the game winning touchdown for 24 yards after breaking three tackles.

PACKERS WIN 56-52!!!!!!

so with 11 seconds left in the 4th quarter, the falcons were up 49-35 and the connection was lost. Then, the game didn't register. Turner had about 275 yards on 17 carries. Dom didn't respond to my message when it happened and just got offline. It said he was still in the game though, not sure what the deal is.

Same thing happened to me Michael. 4th quarter tied with the Raiders and Favre drops back and under pressure tried to throw but he fumbles instead. Under 2 min and couldn't challenge and refs didn't review. Raiders scored and I (Cowboys) lost game on insuing raiders drive.

Raiders played a great game, don't get me wrong. But refs should have automatically reviewed as they would have seen his arm was moving forward. oh well, top 5 pick in draft for me!

It was a great game. I thought for sure that I would lose but then the fumble happened. I was just happy if I would get a FG but McFadden broke free. Good game.

P.S. Al Davis is not happy with my bread and breakfast offense.

I think it is a concern that the game freezes like that sometimes (at least in my case). But it will usually say (from what I heard) where the 'freeze' happened. It sucks if you are playing great and the 'freeze' happens.

I was playing in another league and my player Jacobs had 300 yards rushing and 100yds receiving and I was down but I am driving about 6 min to go in the 4th. Make the long story short, I could care less if I win or lose, the stats that I worked hard for was gone. We replayed and Jacobs only got 200 yards and I lost the game :( its all good, but when it freezes and im down it sucks that it looks like i quit even if I dont intend to. just sayin

Steelers 43
Ravens 7

Here's the recap, I still suck on offense (thats it)

No, seriously, I hung around the first half, made him kick some field goals, but in the second half I couldn't catch up. I love to ball control, and when I'm down, I am just not built to go 80 yards in a cloud of dust. Good game Steelers, I can tell you are one of the better players in here, and thanks for not runnin it up, you were clearly better than me tonight! Good luck the rest of the way:)

Steelers 43 - Ravens 7

Pouring rain set the stage for a hard-hitting rivalry game between the Steelers and Ravens. Everyone in the stadium could sense it was going to be a battle of defenses, and for the second time in three weeks the Steelers got off to a blazing start with a 98 yard return for a touchdown on the opening kickoff by Mike Wallace. After the Steelers tacked on a field goal, Joe Flacco made a great read at the line of scrimmage and burned the Steelers D for a 68 yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon. However, that was about the only thing Flacco did good all day as the tenacious Steelers D would force him into throwing 5 INT's. The game stayed close, but the Steelers would turn a couple INT's into points and had a 19-7 lead at halftime. Things would start to get really ugly when Randall Gay forced a Ray Rice fumble on the first play of the second half and the Steelers would return it 24 yards for a TD. The Ravens looked good on the next drive finally getting the ball over midfield until the Steelers defense struck again. James Harrison nailed Joe Flacco, and the ball fluttered torward Lamar Woodley who snatched it out of the air for a 72 yard INT return for a TD. The game was over at that point and the Steelers would add a few more points off Joe Flacco INT's to make the final score 43-7. Reporters caught up to Mike Tomlin after the game who had this to say "I'm glad we did not listen to Santonio this week. It was important for us to go out and lock up the division and that's what we did out there. The defense was great and Big Ben and co. did what they had to. Our defense looks forward to trying to stop one of the premiere quarterbacks in the league next week against the Raiders."

The Steelers needed to win this one after last weeks debacle, and Troy Polamalu and the defense made sure they did. It will be interesting to see who wins the matchup between the Raiders and Steelers next week, when two of the best teams in the league face-0ff with playoff seeding implications.

Stats

Ben Roethlisburger 11/17 111 yards 1 TD 1 INT
Joe Flacco 15/27 196 yards 1 TD 5 INT

Rashard Mendenhall 18 carries 81 yards
Willis McGahee 10 carries 14 yards

Hines Ward 3 catches 27 yards 1 TD
Pierre Garcon 1 catch 66 yards 1 TD

Lawrence Timmons 3 tackles 1 sack 1 INT
James Harrison 5 tackles 1 sack
William Gay 2 INT's 1 FF
Lamar Woodley 1 TAINT

Bills 42 - Dolphins 14

After two weeks of being bashed by their owner/coach, the Bills defense stepped up this week in serious matchup against the Dolphins. They forced a total of 6 turnovers with 1 TD, while holding the Dolphins strong running game in check and made tackles and pass break ups when they were needed. The offense matched with Edwards running the offense perfectly and the running game keeping the Dolphins guessing. Even the special teams contributed with Parrish running back another KR for a TD.

Miami played a good game but got caught on many of their blitz plays and with Pennington out, struggled to pass the ball with any real success. Overall was a good game.

Titans 35 Cardinals 32

This was one of the best games I've played as well as the 49er game. This time the Titans stepped up. I was down 21-3 in the first qtr and was really getting my ass handed to me by JMo and the Cardinals. Fitzgerald was his regular BEASTLY selft and Boldin was nasty as well. Beanie Wells was gettin loose too. I eventually slowed things down but it was hard fought right on up to the end. Michael Griffin sealed the game with a late pick 6 on the Cardinals final drive that put us up for good even though Breaston took the ensuing kickoff to the house to cut the lead to 3. Onside kick was recovered by Titans and a couple first downs closed the door. Great game JMo!

dude aall u had to do was take a dam kneel at the end.. but u kept running it.. im not saying u were running up the score... but i had 1 time out with 30 seconds left.. u were up by alot.. and after u ran it.. i didnt call a time out so that u can just run the clock.. but instead u kept running the ball and it disconnected..game prolly would have ended if u just didnt call another play..learn to take a kneel.

Um, you were calling timeouts before when I was up by 21 on the previous possession. I just figured you were going to call a timeout so I called a run play and ran it, then ran another (because there wasn't less than 40 seconds left anyway and you still had a timeout left). After that second run play, the game disconnected me. Why didn't you just choose to continue the game so it would count?

umm if u didnt notice there was less than 40 seconds left and i didnt call my LAST TIME OUT.. then your ran a play when you couldve just not hiked it..but its whatever.. and it didnt give me the choice to continue..it just said end of game..so i though i disconnected so i just turned off the 360.. gg.. i had no problems at all with u.. just though u should have just not ran the last play n just let the clock keep running

Why are you arguing? It's not like he was passing the ball down the field on you. I'll run the ball as long as my opponent has a timeout, unless I start milking and they choose to not call a timeout and I'll know they are done..

Just played a thriller that ended with a pick when he was driving to score the game winning TD. He threw in total 4 picks, 1 at the goaline and 2 others around the 20. He went into the half up 17-7 after getting a pick 6 with about 1 min in the half left. This turned out to be Cassel's only incompletion of the game and he finished the game at 17-18. Very fun game that could have gone either way.

Some stats
QB Matt Cassel 17-18 225 yds 3 TD 1 INT
QB Donovan McNabb 14-24 132 yds 0 TD 4 INT

RB Larry Johnson 12 car 54 yds 3 rec 21 yds
RB LeSean McCoy 15 car 113 yds 1 TD 2 rec 15 yds

WR Braylon Edwards 5 rec 96 yds 2 TD
WR Jeremy Macklin 5 rec 61 yds

Game didn't come without setbacks though as starting CB Barnes suffered a herniated disk and is out 7 weeks.

Eagles also lost Westbrook for the game early with back spasms, but the extent of the injury is not yet known (haven't checked).

Here's the recap

I SUCK

Colts 21
Texans 27 OT

This was against the CPU, I had a 21-7 lead in the 4th quarter. The CPU went nuts tied it with 8 seconds left. I won the toss was driving for the game winning field goal, fumbled recovered by Houston. Houston runs two plays scoring on a 50 yard pass where no one can make a tackle, touchdown!! I lose, I suck!! Don't worry not going to quit the league or anything just playing out the season trying to win a few more games before the draft. 3-8!!

Can't, I have an exam from 11-1230, then 2 meetings straight from 1 to 3 that I can't miss. I have a window from 3-7, then a Madden tourney at school from 7-11. 11pm would be the earliest I can play after that. If none of these times work for you, maybe just leave and I'll play the comp?

I'm in college, not high school. The guy who runs the campus recreation center (the gym) is an avid Madden player and has run tournaments annually. The competition is fairly weak and I am able to easily win every year. I am still unbeaten in the 2 previous years I've played (round-robin prelims) and have won by mercy rule (up by 28 in the second half) in both finals games I've been in. The best part is, the last two years I barely played Madden. This year, the league has kept my interest well after the release of NHL 10, so I'm practiced up and will hopefully run like a well-oiled-machine today!

Wish me luck!

My first game in VNFL was uh... EPIC.

I was up by 4 with about 2 minutes remaining. When I threw a pick to Brian Urlacher, Harvin chased him down. The Bears proceeded to score a go ahead TD to make it 37-34 with 33 seconds left.

Harvin takes the ensuing kickoff to the Bears 37, well within Longwells range. I decided to make a play for a score since i had 25 or so seconds left. Took the snap, my 1st and second options were covered well, when i noticed my FB Tahi stroll out of the back field on a delayed route...uncovered. I hit him he breaks abut 2 tackles and runs out at the 12 yd line with 12 seconds left. Next play, Im taking heat so i roll out and try to hit my TE on a cross heading to the sideline, get popped. Incomplete. Culpepper is hurt on the play.

Sage Rosenfels steps in with 7 seconds left. I decide to skip the FG and go for the score. Takes the snap, and drops a pass over Urlachers head, and out of reach from the CB covering him, right into Sydney Rice's hands for a score with 2 seconds remaining.

I purposely kick away from Hester since he burned me on a 101 yd KR TD earlier and hold on to win. Pretty awesome game.

P.s. Jared Allen is a monster. INT for TD, Fumble recovery for TD, and a Sack/Forced Fumble on a 3rd and goal late in the game.
