Yeah I'll have my camera and try to snag some pics and videos. Once I get home with the game I should be able to do a lot more with it. My concentration while I'm at the event is going to be just to play the hell out of the game and give my gameplay impressions, then I can get into the specifics once I get home and can concentrate on them.

So I'll be gone most of the day tomorrow. Cause of stupid connecting flights it makes it about an 8 hour journey. I'll be checking in from the airports and in the evening at the hotel though.

Btw, I'm really lovin' this site. SG got to over cluttered, I like how this site feels more close knit. But as everything that's well built seems to become an empire. (IE. Madden Nation/SG) I just hope this site doesn't become one too quickly.

Pasta,do you think you'll be able to get a hold of franchise? I'd like to hear about some of the stuff that was messed up last year...such as salary cap being crazy(every team had like 20 mill in the offseason),bad drafts,and horrible progression(mainly defense).

Yea, I'm wondering the same thing as Tdoggy.
In my franchise, year ten the Cardinals were 60 million under the cap and weren't signing any players until the end of the signing period for the minimum. Took away from the experience for me.
Also, can your SS be drafted in the first round now? With your ridiculous junior season, it would be a strong possibility if they allowed it.

I'd also like to know if the trading A.I is improved at all? I'm sure you know what was messed up in franchise last year,but these are just some of the things. If you can't play it on the game,it would be nice if you could ask if they paid any attention to these parts or something. Ruined the experience last year.

I'm not really a franchise guy, so it makes it difficult to jump into that mode and know whats been wrong with it and what to look for on those specific things. There are a few guys that I know will be going heavy on franchise, so I'll see if I can pass these notes along for them to be addressed.
And I'm heading to the airport now. Will check if I have time when I stop over in LA, and then once I get to the hotel in the evening. Probably about 8pm ET.

Ha, I just watched a news story yesterday afternoon saying this is the worst year for flight delays and errors on record. They said unless you're leaving at like at 9AM ET or earlier, it's almost 100% you'll have a delay. So I guess you're just a corroborating statistic.
As for Madden, I'm curious about Superstar and gameplay. Are the DBs smarter this year and are you able to have a defensive battle instead of a shootout since the corners couldn't cover the receivers worth a damn on the deep ball last year? Have they implemented a little more into SS mode so it's not the same old boring practice, game, email routine?

This is a pretty crazy day. SG is down or barely loading, MM has been up and down. Looks like the traffic for PP is on pace to possibly break yesterday's record. The Madden excitement is here. Seems like it just took longer to gear up than years past.
If you guys have people on AIM that are homeless when those sites go down and would make for good members feel free to suggest they visit. We've got a good group here now to build off of in the forum. I'm just hoping that Aaron Sharrow doesn't find his way here somehow lol.
Looks like I'll be boarding here in a few minutes so I'll post once I get into the hotel tonight.

I think a lot of MN people could find solace here. Mostly the ones that were there from like 03-05 or so,that liked the tight knit community they used to have but feel like its really been broken down.

Can you find out about all online features. Specifically if something similar to spawned games is in the next gen Madden. Big thing because I play in a league that has a full on franchise league with off-season and a draft. If not this will definitely take some of the joy away from playing Madden.

Freds first impressions really go in depth and i like what he brought to the table, cant wait for this game.... already tired of ncaa, not for the gameplay but its just not madden.

In the last few years I might have agreed with you but we are solid on both sides of the ball this year. And the rams D is still shakey so I'm going to have to side with the 49ers (No homerism intented).
Most scary thing about the Rams against the 49ers has been the Wr's and now we actually have the depth to cover all 3 of them. Jackson doesnt really scare me as much cause we are so fast on D. His better games arent usually against the 9ers.

49ers D is still young and are depending on a rookie to lead them. The Rams have more vets but still have some big wholes
conclusion: both teams aren't in the top 16 so neither is "solid" both teams have more potential than substance. Lots of new parts on both squads and naturally will take time to gel. I'd give a slight edge to the ram D who should finish a little higher than the 49ers like last year. I chalk your post up to more wishful thinking as a sect of 49er fans who mistakenly think they'll have an 11 win team. Even though the rams should have the better D it can go either way unlike on the offensive side of the ball where the Rams remain elite and far better than the 49ers.

TBC adds a crazy ability to pass rush.
Manny Lawson proved to be very very solid in pass coverage last year.
Patrick Willis has been getting RAVE reviews from everybody in training camp. Not just the random douches that say he's good. But Matt Maiocco.
Derek Smith is still a very solid linebacker,and the only reason he had a down year is because of his eye last year.
Rod Green adds pass rush if needed.
Brandon Moore can do so much. GREAT pass rush and solid coverage.
Then we have a decent Jeff Ulbrich.
49'ers LB's>Ram's LB's.

Last years stats dont mean anything to me cause we had no secondary. This year our best corner from last year might be a nickle back. The defense as a whole is so improved. Only time will tell but we will see.
49ers lb's >>>>>>>Rams Our backup mlb (Derek Smith) would be a instant starter on the Rams

patrick willis is still a rookie, Bata-Cain rarely if ever started, lawson looked bad next year needs a lot of work and I like Moore. However you guys are overexaggerating everyone on the 49ers especially a promising guy like Moore. He isn't there yet. The Rams have the best LB by far in Witherspoon and probably the second best in Pisa Tinoisamoa. Draft is a solid vet with limited upside and Chiller is a talented up and comer like the 49er ones you mentioned. Of course you're gonna say the 49ers cuz its your team but take the blinders off.
The only reason I can think of is there you're assuming the best case scenerio for all the 49er players instead of where they realistically are at. I mean reread what you said about Willis and Moore. They aint there yet man.
Fact is i've heard a lot of wishful thinking and outlandish predictions from 49er ppl this offseason and a lot of people are falling into this hype trap so I know this discussion won't go anywhere but in circles and its ruining this thread which is supposed to be about madden community day lol.

pasta did you notice if champ bailey was making some ridiculous plays on the ball? I know you said you basically couldnt pass on the Bronco's.
I just hope they didnt make it were say you have him beat but because he is a shutdown cb, have some super make up abilities.

C.Bailey is god in this game throw his way at your own risk. If the WR Champ is playing against isn't at least a 94 don't even think about throwing that way just act like that guy doesn't exist. Because Champ pretty much takes that side of the field away.

I think it'll be nice, looking at your schedule and seeing a Broncos/Colts (example) Monday Nighter and being deadly afraid of embarrassing yourself under the lights.
Good stuff Pasta...can't wait to hear more detailed impressions in the coming days. I just hope some of the negatives you talked about aren't too glaring, like the fumbles and stuff

Usually all that fumbling stuff can be cured with sliders so thats not a issue to me (but Im also not a everyday online player ) so I wouldnt know how much it would hurt the online game.

Well when I played against the Broncos I didn't even try to throw at him. There is really no point unless you want to get intercepted. I don't remember seeing him get "beat" a single time. Pasta did you notice if you can hitstick a player before the ball gets to them on a pass? (pass interference) I used to love being able to nail players early in the current gen versions of Madden.
Now it seems like you have to wait until they catch the ball to hitstick them.

I never really get into sliders because they're not usable online. However I would say I addressed some things that are likely going to be popular areas for slider guys to tweak. Fumbles, injuries, and kick power being the things that would stand out the most to me.

you'll still be familiar with the scoreboard, although I think somewhat less than last year. Thats replaced though with how many times you'll cut to the scoreboard to see an injury announcement.

Hard for me to say since I decided not to challenge him and wasn't looking for that when other guys were playing. I just remember him, Champ, and DJ Williams getting a lot of INTs
