I'm looking foward to watching the falcons and Jets game tonight. A few things to look out for from the falcons side.

D.J Shockley - Is suppose to get a lot of playing time tonight is battling for the backup job. He is very popular in Georgia and alot of fans allready wont him to start. He has similar skills to Vick (not as good but similar), he also has a stronger arm then any of the QB's.

Justin Vincent - UDFA from LSU, Falcons need a #3 RB and short yardage back

L. Robinson - 3rd Round pick who had a very good camp and everyone knows the falcons need WR's

Great Game for the Jets, I liked Clemens alot he should win the backup job over Tuiasosopo. I feel really bad for Andre Wadsworth, If you dont know about him he was the #2 Overall Pick in the 1998 Draft and hasnt played since 2000. He is the 4th string OLB so I doubt he will make the team.

Browns-Chiefs.

*Quinn did not play, I didn't expect him to.
*Frye looks a lot more mature, if he plays like he did today, he'll be starting vs. Pittsburgh week 1.
*Joe Thomas had 2 holding calls but had a few solid blocks that opened a hole for the running backs.
*Seth McKinney had a big block that opened a gaping hole for Jamal Lewis. Lewis looks fresh, we'll see how long that lasts.
*Braylon had a nice blitz read on the defense and ran a quick slant that was completed for a nice gain, it was impressive.
*Eric Wright played really solid, he's going to be a cornerstone of the secondary down the road.
*Jerome Harrison had a couple of good runs but gave up on a lateral that was picked up by KC for a touchdown, and had a fumble, this concerns me since him and Jason Wright are the complements to Lewis and they played less than stellar.
*The defense played well, but it's hard to tell how the run defense is because KC played like shit.
*The Chiefs need LJ back as soon as possible. Their offense is anemic without him. As I said before they played terrible, overthrowing receivers, numerous dropped passes and stuffed runs.
*Brodie Croyle played better than Damon Huard but both had timing issues and sailed the ball, leading to each throwing an interception.
*The Chiefs defense played decent. They had 3 red zone stops, 2 leading to field goals and one leading to time expiring at the end of the half by tackling Frye short of the end zone. They also were able to stuff the Browns when they were backed up, but the offense never took advantage.

Heh, I missed the whole 1st quarter, but I saw alot of what Jacoby Jones could do in the 2nd. Our dline is starting to actually get pressure. Sage Rosenfels is a damn good backup aswell. I really like that Kubiak is using the TE in the O more than last year. Oline has really improved at times in the game they really nutted up against the Bears dline so that was cool.

Ben Obamanu had a hell of a game. I liked what he did in the preseason last year but there wasn't room for him so he ended up on the practice squad. So far they've talked up his performances in camp and now he stepped it up in this game. I think he'll make the team as the 5th receiver.

He didn't play at all, but he hasn't done anything here. He was supposed to be our future #2, but he almost didn't make the team last year. He's got to step it up.

Obamanu, Darryl Tapp, and Brandon Mebane were all playing great. It felt good to finally watch some Seahawk football. I love pre-season since it is stress free and you get to see the younger guys play, and that was topped off with a win.

Marcus Trufant looks better too, he could be a suprise this year.

Ever since Nolan took over Cards are the only team that has given us problems. We should be 4-0 vs the Rams, but there was a shitty call by the ref...twice. And we nearly beat the Hawks with our crap 4-12 team in 05. Cards are the only team that Nolan hasnt beatne in the division.

Yea the DL without BY or Aubrayo Franklin was pretty mediocre,if not worse. But if you're a Niners fan you still have to consider that 2/3 of our starters on the DL were out.

Linebackers obviously affected by the DL so can't really evaluate them well, although Bockwoldt was just getting run over by the RB's. I did like the speed I saw sideline to sideline out of Willis, and that aforementioned goal line play.

In the secondary,I couldn't really evaluate the starting safeties because they didn't do much. I did like what I saw out of a lot of the backups though, mainly Vickiel Vaughn,Marcus Hudson,Tarrell Brown, and Marcus Curry. Even though Curry had the penalty,he rebounded with a very nice play which is a good sign. Still won't make the team but whatever.

OLine looked ok,Joe Staley held his man down. Opened up some nice holes in the middle, all the tackles gave the QB's just enough time, even though a little more would have been nice. A couple times I was about to get pissed because the DE's were coming around but they did alright.

I was VERY impressed with all the QB's. Dilfer just showed me that he could be a backup that could come in and do alright if Smith gets hurt. Hill just seemed like he could be a good #2 somewhere IMO. Some nice throws and just leading the drive. Alex Smith, ole small hands REALLY impressed me. A couple of his throws were just perfect,in spots that the ball had to be perfect. The throw to DJax on Champ, and the throw to Battle was very nice.

Runningbacks...none of them were total studs or anything of course, but Hicks showed some of his ability for big gainers,Clayton showed the ability to just keep chipping away, and Robinson did the same as Clayton. Arkee Whitlock was pretty eh,not the little type of back for the team.

With the receivers,DJax got like a 20 yarder on Champ, which is always nice, and the rest of the guys were pretty good too. Brandon Williams looked like the made a case on returns and in the receiving game,so if Taylor Jacobs gets to return next week,he's going to need to have a nice game if he wants to make the team.

Ok I'm done,I know nobody cares about the Niners, but I just wanted to give my first game writeup lol.

James89
08-13-2007, 09:33 PM
I forgot Aubrayo wasnt playing, even though I should have seen that in the starting lineups lol. Well then the run D shouldnt be that bad once we get those guys in there then. Should be a fun season this year.

BTW, the throws Smith made were amazing. He would have been 5/5 if he had a little mroe time on that first drive.

DNEUM
08-13-2007, 09:49 PM
Smith looked good, made some nice throws in some tight spaces. Only incomplete pass he got hit from behind, so it was certainly encouraging.

Loved the pick by Tarrell Brown, he made a great break on the ball. I'm really excited by his potential.

Hicks had a few nice runs. I think I'd prefer him as the #2 over Robinson, who I really haven't been that impressed by.

But overall it wasn't bad, first team O looked better than I expected. We made some good plays on the ball on D. It was good seeing the new guys suit up for the first time. Most of all, I'm just glad football is back lol.

Adrian Peterson is a freaking beast. Tarvaris Jackson has a long way to go, but Bollinger and Thigpen aren't close to being able to compete with him. Pennington made some absolutely abysmal decisions last night. Leon Washington was very impressive though. Brady Quinn: What accuracy problems? :)
He's looking damn good for the situation he's been in. 6/7, 63 yards, 1 TD on his first drive. The incompletion was a poor play-call. It looks like they haven't given him the keys completely, as it didn't look like he even tried to call out of it (which he did at ND, so he can do it). 'It's the 4th quarter of a preseason game', blah, blah, blah. He's looked very impressive so far.

EDIT: Finished 13/20 (4 of those incompletions were spikes, so he was really 13/16), 152 yards, 2 TDs. The second drive was against soft zone, but he made all the right decisions and some nice-as-hell throws. The only throw I didn't care for was when he tried to hit Harrison out of the backfield towards the beginning of the second drive. It was a bit too high and had too much pace. I know it's only preseason, but he made all the throws. I'm excited to see how he'll do against the 1s...

I've given up on David Greene. I had some hope for him but its clear he isn't going to develop into a starting QB or even a good backup. He is quite disliked up here by fans.

I'm still holding out hope that the team has an opportunity to sign a veteran QB who could fit in the WCO system to back up Hasselbeck and allow Seneca to get on the field as a WR and returner.

I was at the game. The Hawk's offense really couldn't get anything going and made a bunch of turnovers. Twice, the QB was sacked and fumbled the ball only for a Packer linebacker to scoop it up and and score. Whenever the Seahawks did get a good play, it was called back due to a penalty. If I remember correctly, once there was three different holding penalties on one Seahawks play. In the second half the Packers had the ball inside the redzone but Seattle picked the ball off both times to keep them from scoring. It was a wet game and the Seattle receivers had some trouble hanging onto thrown balls.

Our rush D is still weak up the middle, but is strong on the outside. Our starting pass D looked good, but our backups looked BAD.

Our passing offense was beautiful. It SUCKS that Michael Jennings ruptured his Achilles and is done for the year.. and Steve Smith got a concussion- he could be done for the year also.

That game was really bad for us. Hopefully Steve Smith comes back soon, it didn't look like a serious concussion but you can never tell with head injuries. Also Madison hurt his hammy and Will Demps dislocated his elbow. They were supposed to lead our secondary and I think we really need them, considering how our D was last year and as you said, how the backups looked

Jacobs and Eli looked good, i forget to look for Eli taking lead on the field/showing emotion, did you see him do anything like that really?

Yeah, I didn't realize it was a concussion when I saw it and usually you can tell if its a bad one(see: trent green).

Madison hurting his hammy is very bad- our CBs look very, very bad right now.

Demps wasn't even on 1st team, thank goodness. That guy is very overrated and bad at diagnosing plays. James Butler(the current 1st tm SS) played very well again, and deflected a pass that would've otherwise been a TD over Dockery(#35).

Jacobs looked good once he got warmed up. Eli showed some emotion on what should've been a late hit call. He was very good accuracy wise though. He played a great game after that snap/fumble.

oh, i got Wilson and Demps confused lol. Realized that once you said that. Hmm hopefully this year goes well, was Kiwanka (sp?) still struggling reading run plays, I remember against hte Panthers they just ran all over him. I missed most of the 1st half so I didn't really see the starters that much

I hate the Giants, but I couldn't help but feel bad for them. They may have lost two players for the year and a few more for at least a few weeks (another dislocated elbow; that's two in as many nights). Jacobs even got hurt trying to slow down Lorenzen on the sidelines. I would have called it quits at half...

lol Rex Grossman. First three drives he fumbles, throws an INT, and fumbles a snap.

Kiwanuka actually came up strong on one running play I saw, but other than that he didn't stick out at all.

Seriously- how is this guy a starting NFL qb? For gosh sakes, I bet the majority of backups would be better than him- this is just ridiculous!

Wow, Grossman fumbled another snap! So hes got an INT, a fumble, and 2 fumbled snaps in 5 possessions lol.

Is it possible Griese beats him out?

Tdoggy's douchebag cousin + Cedric Griffin = best corner duo in a couple years!

Chad Greenway looked sick. So did AD.. My little brother already made the investment on an authentic jersey.. 28 all the way!!!

And Jackson's the man!

Donald Driver got carried off the field then carted into the locker room. After viewing the injury in slowmo on my tivo it could be serious. Sucks for him

and Aaron Rodgers looks like a child molester with that mustache

I watched the injury a few times on my DVR, and I wasn't sure what to think. They eventually announced it was a foot injury and not the ankle. That kind of relieved me a bit actually, becuase I was afriad that he really screwed up his ankle.

That hit that Bishup put on that wide receiver was awesome. In my opinion, that was the biggest hit during the preseason so far.

James Jones really is something. Glad to see that a team is exactually utilizing a player that appears to have potential.

You'd think MNF would get better with Theisman gone but it seems that the other guy(I forget his name...not trico or jaws) is trying his best to duplicate him. MFer is almost as annoying as Theisman. Jaws would be giving an analyzing a play and the guy would come out of the blue and make a retarded comment such as "you take your job too seriously".

I'm excited to get back to Qwest Field for the game tonight against the Vikings. Its been almost 9 months. Seems like it wasn't that long ago though that I was celebrating the exciting win over the Cowboys.

After last week's game I'd expect the team will come out and play well.

to my surprise he's doing good and looks better each time out. He's actually moving well on the run which most ppl thought he wouldn't be able to do after the injuries. He also looks more comfortable in the pocket, he doesn't look like Rex Grossman anymore. I guess he borrowed some "vitamins" from Barry Bonds and his hands got bigger.

Devin Hester injured on the offense side of the ball against the 49ers. Has anyone heard how serious it is?

Really? I was flipping back and forth between several games and was chuckling at the "stud" 49er defense I keep hearing so much about getting burned by Rex Grossman I didn't notice. Sucks for bears if he's hurt.

Even though this is just pre-season, I always knew Daunte would come back!

Bobby Wade had a nice game, he made a nice grab in traffic as he got laid out by Deon Grant.. Man he got destroyed. I didn't think Grant was capable of that type of stuff..

Pass rush was okay, I don't understand why Kenechi is starting here, why can't they insert James in his place??

And Jackson's still got a long way to go..
