Played Fred. We've never had lag before, even pre-patch. Guess what, it was a stuttery lag. Not unplayable like NCAA but definitely affects the experience. Thats not a good sign. I can't imagine what playing guys who had always lagged against me pre-patch would be like lol.

Coolest part about our game? The added element of the smart weapons. The problem is that since the defense doesn't have enough time to pick plays, the CPU ends up picking many. And usually its the same play so it filled up Hasselbeck's meter a lot cause Fred wasn't getting plays in on time in many cases. I think I got to use the smart weapon 4 times.

I have a lot more to talk about, which I'll do in my full writeup later today.

lol at Team XBOX saying that you'll find a smooth, lag-free experience online in their review.

EA must be hooking these guys into the madden 07 servers or something lol. Do you think the problem could be these aren't the real servers since the game really isn't supposed to be out yet.

I just played an online game and like pasta said there are a few instances of lag. But IMO, it is not game changing at all.

well in a somewhat shocking development, Rac and I played a lag-free game. So I'm not sure what the deal is yet. Will need to get a few more games in with people.

There are still a lot of little frustrating things though that I'll be touching on, its not just the lag issue.

I think I will start my franchise once I get home from the midnight release and find a team I like off line and get used to them. That way hopefully the lag will subside and I can get my ass handed to me :) or hand some ass to some kids (hmm maybe I should rephrase but I wont)

Pasta..I'm in Bothell...we need to connect for a game just to see if even we have stuttery lag..I mean after what I saw and heard with NCAA the lag/delay issues may be more than just distanced based.

Actually I didn't have much problem with NCAA...Do you guys have Cable or DSL???

Did you guys play ranked or unranked? Terror and I had lag/connection issues when we would play ranked games on NCAA, but when we play unranked we have smooth lag free games.

This is a big problem this year because from 2006 to 2007 we could easily see it was distanced based lag...But now I'm not sure thats always the case...It seems as if you can play anyone, anytime, anywhere and have both a bad & good connection.

Luckily everyone seems to be having lag/delay issues of some sort with all of EA games so I can't really see them sidestepping this problem. But on the same token I can see the remedy and solution becoming a big mystery for them since you will have more people this year saying they are not having any issues.

I hear alot of people complain about NCAA and while I have experienced some minor/lag delay issues its nowhere near as bad as what I'm hearing from many people I fully trust. I almost hesitate to admit that most of my NCAA games have been free from heavy lag/delay because I know that fuels EA's fire not to address the issue and blame someone or something else.

Ok Finch and I just played a really good game. It was a little slower and had slight stuttery lag. Pretty similar to the game I had against Fred. Doesn't make the game unplayable like pre-patch last year, but it certainly isn't ideal.

I'll have a full write up on everything online play related later this afternoon.

was a hell of a game. Lucky that your fumble got reversed prior to that. I was convinced you were going to win at the end, but that ball hung up there enough for Babineaux to get underneath it.
