NCAA Final Four Contest
April 3, 2009 by pastapadre · Comments

Here is another opportunity to win a free download code this time for 3 on 3 NHL Arcade (360). To qualify you need to post a comment on this articule using your IntenseDebate account with your winners of the Michigan State vs Connecticut and Villanova vs North Carolina games and then your choice to win the National Championship. Everyone who qualifies and correctly predicts the three games will be in the drawing for the code.
Also still in play is the $20 XBL or PSN card to the winner of the Bracket Challenge. DeepPurple21 leads going into the Final Four and has UConn picked to win it all. But there are several people on his tail that have UNC so it looks like it will go down to the wire.
Latest MME Code Winner and Next Chance To Win
March 29, 2009 by pastapadre · Comments

Congrats to ptwaugh for winning the code for NCAA Basketball 09 March Madness Edition. After taking the names of everyone who correctly predicted the wins by Villanova and UCONN and using random.org it was ptwaugh who’s name was pulled out. Email me and I’ll get your code sent over!
The contests continue with another opportunity to win a MME download code which will run through the end of the day Monday. To be eligible you can either post a comment on this article using your IntenseDebate account or with Twitter be one of my followers and send me a message (about anything) beginning with @pastapadre. If you do both you’ll have two entries into the drawing.
Thanks to everyone for the response to these contests. I now plan to do them on a semi-regular basis (maybe once a week). While I won’t always have codes for the giveaways I will attempt to offer up something relatively intriguing each time.
Second MME Code Winner and Next Contest
March 27, 2009 by pastapadre · Comments

Another thanks to everyone who took part in the second contest which required a message being sent to me on Twitter. Once again I assigned numbers to each person and using random.org drew for the winner. TouchdownSkins comes away with the NCAA Basketball 09 March Madness code. Check your direct messages on Twitter for the code I’ll be sending over.
For a chance to win the next MME code (or substitute 3 on 3 NHL Arcade code for 360) you’ll need to post a comment on this article using your IntenseDebate account. Include your picks of who will win both tournament games on Saturday with Pittsburgh vs Villanova and Connecticut vs Missouri. Only those who post the two selections with their ID account by tip-off of the first game will qualify and one entry per person. In the likely event that multiple entrants have the correct teams chosen the code winner will be selected at random out of that group and announced on Sunday.
First MME Code Winner and Next Opportunity
March 25, 2009 by pastapadre · Comments

Thanks to everyone who commented on the previous article with their ID account. I went through and took everyone’s name down assigned each a number then used random.org to draw for the winner. SigmaAG comes away with the NCAA Basketball 09 March Madness Edition download code. Go ahead and email me and I’ll get that sent off to you, congrats! The comment threads are looking much improved now and I think everyone using ID will appreciate the benefits.
The next chance to win is Twitter related. To qualify you need to be a follower of mine on Twitter and send a message (about whatever you want) starting with @pastapadre on there by tomorrow morning. I’ll draw out of everyone and the winner will get a download code for MME (or 3 on 3 NHL Arcade). Winner to be announced sometime tomorrow. There are a couple events in the coming months which I’m excited about that I’ll be heavily utilizing Twitter for including a NCAA Football 10 pre-NFL Draft event and E3.
Comment For Chance To Win NCAA MME Code
March 24, 2009 by pastapadre · Comments

I have a couple free download codes for NCAA Basketball 09 March Madness Edition (360). In order to have a chance at winning one simply have an Intense Debate account and post a comment on this article. I’ll choose someone out of those at random. If you already have MME I can substitute a 3 on 3 NHL Arcade (360) code.
Despite having a variety of cool features to it after having installed the ID comment system there hasn’t been a high percentage of people to actually utilize it. Intense Debate offers the opportunity to use a single account on any sites that use it, avatar pictures, the ability to edit comments, and tracking of comment history. Yet I see many frequent posters who continue to comment as guests instead.
I also just wanted to mention that I’ve just recently added the ability to post Youtube videos and use smilies. The icons to do so are located above the comment box. Being able to comment using Facebook Connect will be coming sometime in the near future as well.
This will be the first opportunity to win a code. I’ll have a few more giveaways over the coming days. Update: Go here to see the winner and next opportunity.
Highlight Clip Contest
October 14, 2008 by pastapadre · Comments

Over the next week I will be accepting entries for a highlight clip contest featuring NBA Live 09 and NBA 2K9. Create them within the games with consideration given towards the actual play shown as well as the overall style of the video. You can enter as many clips as you like for either or both games. The clips must remain active on the websites throughout the duration of the contest.
Through the respective community sites, EA Sports World and 2K Community, upload your highlight and then send me a link to your entry via the contact form. Please make sure to include a valid email address when filling out the contact form as well as your Xbox Gamertag or PSN name.
I will be selecting five of my favorites for each game and then posting those up to be voted on to determine the winner. The person who submitted the highlight receiving the highest number of votes for each game will receive a $25 gift card to Amazon.com. Make sure to send in your clips by the end of the day on Wednesday the 22nd and the voting will begin heading into that weekend.
Madden 09 Custom Team Online Competition
August 3, 2008 by pastapadre · Comments

So when I got to figuring out what type of event I’d like to run for Madden 09 there were several possibilities. With how enjoyable the NCAA online dynasty has been this would be something to look forward to.
The first thought was an online league given the addition to the game this year, but ultimately those are almost guaranteed to fail and more frustrating than fun. I definitely wouldn’t have the time to commit to running one.
But then I fell back on something I did last year regarding the use of custom teams online. It incorporates the idea drafting a team, though not going to the extent of drafting every player.
Paint Booth Contest
June 15, 2008 by pastapadre · Comments

Through 6/22 I will be accepting entries for a Nascar 09 Paint Booth contest. The great thing about this is you don’t even necessarily need the game to create designs. To take part you’ll have to be a registered user of EA Sports World and from there go to the Nascar page and follow the instructions on how to create a skin for a car. You can choose from the Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series, or Craftsman Truck Series.
The goal is to create a car that represents and/or advertises pastapadre.com and there will be no limit to the number of entries any single person can send in. Using the Paint Booth feature create the design and then email me the dds file. I will then upload the file to EA Sports World and take screenshots of them to use for the voting. The address to send them to is pastapadrecontest@gmail.com
In the week after the 22nd I will be posting up a handful of my favorite car designs along with a poll for the community to vote on which is the best. All entries sent in will be displayed in the forum even if they weren’t selected to be in the final voting so everyone can check them out. The pastapadre.com car design with the most votes will be awarded a $30 gift certificate for Amazon.com which will be sent via email once the winner is declared.
Good luck, have fun, and I’m looking forward to seeing the creative designs that roll in!
