Here is a look at many of the deals available on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. There will be far more games and accessories on sale than what is found in this list as it only contains those advertised specifically in advance. Lots of deals this year are not limited to one retailer but are being matched across many and online by Amazon. This post will be updated as new deals appear and expire. Check out another deals posting that has been put together on movies and television here. Make...

    Posted November 25th, 2014 at 12:30 pm 2 Comments »
Both Microsoft and Sony are running digital game deals this week. Among them is EA Sports UFC which stands out as a fantastic value considering the circumstances. UFC released only five months ago and a sequel isn't coming until 2016 so there's still a long time ahead where it will retain its relevance. Five patches have significantly improved the gameplay and online matches as well as added in 14 fighters to the roster. What hasn't changed post-release is the lack of compelling conten...

[UPDATE: Now Expired] Amazon has the games for $30 as lightning deals until about 5:10 ET. Madden, FIFA, NBA 2K15, Watch Dogs, and The Evil Within all for $30 XB1/PS4. Retailer advertisements that went out revealed some of the big gaming deals that will be available on Black Friday. Walmart has jumped out in front of the action though by price-matching some of the deals that will be offered by Best Buy on individual games early. Among them are FIFA 15, NBA 2K15, and Madden NFL 15. All ...

With just over two weeks until Black Friday various retailer advertisements have already slipped out providing an opportunity to prepare for the rush of deals ahead. Typically the yearly sports games released in summer or early fall are found for $25-35 with Black Friday deals. Those have included NCAA, Madden, NHL, and FIFA. In some cases NBA 2K has been bunched in there as well though the later release of the game has meant it hasn't necessarily fallen as far as the others in some year...

As with most sports games these days if you wait a few weeks to buy opportunities will emerge to pick them up at a discount. FIFA 15 hasn't even been out three weeks but already it's available for 20% off. Amazon has the game on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, 360 and PC today only for $48. As publishers heavily push pre-orders and day one sales, along with a greater number of consumers going digital, games become even more front-loaded than they had been in the past. Sports games have always relied ...

With just three weeks until release Microsoft has unveiled yet another bundle for the Xbox One console and this one includes Madden NFL 15. For $400 it represents arguably the best value yet for an Xbox One and is well worth considering for anyone in the market for the system. Depending on how much individual importance was placed on Kinect the $450 Titanfall bundle had been the best deal until now. The bundle comes with the standard Xbox One (no Kinect included), a download code for Madd...

It's only been out a month but EA Sports UFC can already be had for $40. Amazon has the game at that price already for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Gamestop also has it for $40 right now though it's unclear whether that is just online or also in-store. In some cases retailer deals are only available until a certain supply has run out, so those interested will want to take advantage of the offer quickly. [Update] Best Buy, Walmart, and others have followed as this isn't just a retailer-sp...

For the first time since release in early May, MLB 14: The Show on PlayStation 4 can be had at a significantly reduced price. Amazon currently has the game for $40 matching an in-store deal currently available from Best Buy. In many cases an offering like this one is for a limited quantity and goes fast however given it's a price match it may be available for the entire week. MLB 14: The Show on PS4 has been lauded for its gameplay, visual enhancements, and depth of offline content but s...

    Posted December 26th, 2013 at 10:45 am 6 Comments »
PlayStation 3 owners got the benefit of special deals in recent weeks with MLB 13: The Show for $10 and NHL 14 for $15. Buying them digitally even made sense for those who already had them on disc and could re-sell them for more than that. Now those with Xbox 360s can take advantage of a similar offer. NCAA Football 14 is available as a digital download through Xbox Live for just $15. There are no real discounts on the game elsewhere - even Amazon has new copies sitting at $60 with used c...
