    Time to clean up on some of the other news to break since the start of E3 which includes word from Cam Weber that Madden NFL 25 on Xbox One and PS4 will be fully featured and EA denying having placed any pressure on Microsoft or Sony to institute severe DRM restrictions and reiterating they got rid of the Online Pass for unrelated reasons.  (more…)...

    Here are some basic impressions from the first day being on the show floor of E3 which featured prominently the upcoming EA Sports games. The company shut down any recording of the games at their booth so unlike past years the number of videos and images coming out will be limited. Included at the end of this piece are the short videos of Madden NFL 25 captured before that point as the taking of them had been approved to begin the day.     Tradition Sports Online has gathered the top 15 rated players for NCAA Football 14. Leading the way is the odds-on favorite to be the #1 pick in the NFL Draft next year South Carolina defensive end #7 (Jadeveon Clowney) with a 99 rating. Coming off the Heisman winning season Texas A&M quarterback #2 (Johnny Manziel) is joined by four others rated 97 overall.     The first offical day of E3 has arrived with the show floor opening up at noon PT for six hours. Sports games readily available to play will be Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, NHL 14, and NCAA Football 14. Behind-closed-doors presentations for next-gen versions of Madden, FIFA, NBA Live 14, and EA Sports UFC are also expected but only FIFA has been confirmed to be playable.     Sony opened their press conference with discussion on upcoming releases for the PlayStation Vita and PS3. Attention then turned to the PS4 which is definitely being pushed as a gaming platform as opposed to Microsoft who made gaming seem secondary until their presser today.     The Electronic Arts press conference has just wrapped up and the company showcased games like Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, Titanfall, Need for Speed Rivals, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mirrors Edge 2, and Battlefield 4.     The press conference today for Microsoft delivered a number of announcements and game reveals with many of them being exclusives. Before getting to the Xbox One the company showed off a redesign for the Xbox 360 that is available beginning today - styled similar to the One and smaller/quieter than the current 360.     The biggest E3 in years takes place next week and with it an opportunity to get hands-on time with some of the games and get answers to some of the questions that have lingered in the lead-up to their respective releases.
