The patch is currently in certification for the Xbox 360 and should be out within the next two weeks barring any complications being encountered during the process. (Update) The patch is expected to be released as early as tomorrow. The patch adds in check swings, attempts to fix the problem of CPU pitchers staying in the game beyond reasonable pitch counts, and supposedly will resolve the major issue that has prevented ...

Having passed the self-imposed deadline of March 1st for deciding who will get the role of Steve Rogers aka Captain America, the rumors continue to swirl with yet another new name added to the list of those seen as final candidates. Ryan Phillippe has emerged for the first time as reported by HitFix. He is definitely on the older side of things at 35 and that could make it difficult to see him in this role. He joins Mike Vogel (Cloverfield), Chris Evans (Fantastic Four), Garret Hedlund (Tro...

Whether the Curb Your Enthusiasm series continues from one season to the next has been dependent solely on whether writer and star Larry David has wanted to bring it back. So far he has through seven seasons with each one ending on a note that could have held up as series finales. HBO continues to provide flexibility and an opening for the highly regarded Curb Your Enthusiasm to return. Variety has a story citing David's recent comments stating there is a "pretty good chance" that Curb will...

  • Review: Green Zone

I've found myself to really enjoy movies with modern war themes, especially ones with a layer of conspiracy, and definitely count myself amongst fans of Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon. So I went into Green Zone fully expecting to like it and wanted to to temper my reaction to evaluate it for what it was and avoid being influenced by my personal tendencies. Green Zone ended up taking care of that for me though. It wasn't as fulfilling as I had hoped, and tracked into political grounds that were...

The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings. Three new mascots have been announced for NCAA Football 11 so far. Oregon's Donald Duck, Texas Tech's "Raider Red", and Stanford gets "The Tree" in. You can see them in the screenshot gallery. The pre-order deal for Tiger Woods 11 at Gamestop will be a free download of the Riviera Golf Club. The PS3 version of Tiger Woods 11 will include support for the Pla...
  • Alice In Wonderland Wins Second Straight Weekend

As expected Alice in Wonderland came in #1 having fended off four new entries in theaters. All four of them actually came in under industry expectations but in the same order that most expected. Alice has now made over $200 million but will have only one more weekend with most of the 3D screens. Green Zone, the Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass re-teaming, came in under $15 million despite a strong marketing push and ties to the Bourne franchise. Reviews have been mixed (mine will be up today ...

Coming out of the Game Developer's Conference is the first directly captured gameplay footage of Backbreaker by independent outlets. Both IGN and Gametrailers have released videos while IGN also includes updated hands-on impressions. The event provided the first opportunity for media types to try out the game's splitscreen multiplayer. That doesn't mean that there weren't still issues present. I'm still not a huge fan of how Backbreaker handles running the ball outside and switching players...
